Democrats: Trump’s Illegal Immigration Crackdown Is Harming Kid’s Mental Health Or Something

Here’s a new take on illegal immigration with a side order of virtue signaling from House Democrats Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.), Grace F. Napolitano (D-Calif.), and Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.). Interestingly, Jayapal is an immigrant, you guys! Of course, she came here legally

Harsh U.S. immigration policies are causing mental, social harm to American children

Mental health affects all, regardless of gender, culture, and socio-economic status. Despite the universal nature, many are unable to get the care they need because of a shortage of providers and the stigma surrounding the diagnoses. May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to erase this stigma and educate the public of all ages on the warning signs of mental illness. This month is even more meaningful for immigrants from around the world as our nation’s increasingly harsh immigration policies have harmed the mental and social well-being of millions of American children.

Roughly one in four American children younger than 18 live in immigrant families, and over four million U.S.-citizen children have at least one undocumented parent. A sense of safety and belonging is key to their psychological development. Feeling secure is critical to them thriving emotionally, academically and socially. Conversely, evidence has shown that adverse childhood experiences, like intense uncertainty and fear, are detrimental to their health.

It’s a shame that these illegal alien parents put their children’s mental health in jeopardy by either bringing them here illegally or having the children in the country, making them citizens.

Currently, too many children live in daily fear that their parents could be arrested, detained or deported at any moment. There are numerous stories of groggy children waking up to see their parents handcuffed and taken away late at night, or arrested by an ICE agent on the way to school. These heartbreaking stories will only increase if laws like Texas’ Senate Bill 4, a “show me your papers” law, continue to see the light of day. This unjust law calls on law enforcement and campus police to inquire about immigration status, including questioning children, and mandates fines and jail time for elected officials and law enforcement who fail to comply with the discriminatory law, even though it may make them complicit in violating constitutional safeguards.

First, this is still the fault of the parents. Not Trump, not Texas, not government. The parents. Second, the Texas bill allows law enforcement to inquire, it doesn’t require. 3rd, it has penalties for law enforcement that refuses to work with ICE as “sanctuary jurisdictions.” 4th, where are these stories? They are very rare, and usually involve law enforcement picking up really bad hombres in this manner. 5th, any who are picked up causing their children to cry are to be blamed for their own lawless behavior.

Researchers and clinicians have found that stress related to immigration can cause serious physical effects on smaller kids, including tantrums and bedwetting. Older children can become withdrawn, distracted, and even have stomachaches or insomnia. They may start performing poorly in school, avoiding school altogether, or acting out in rage.

As more children of immigrants become targets of bullying, such mistreatment may lead to children withdrawing socially, which prevents them from building healthy social relationships, a crucial element of their development. As one parent from the Los Angeles area recounted, “My daughter is having nightmares. Kids are afraid to go to school. I do my best to keep the TV off. We are not criminals. We are just trying to create a better life for our children.”

Fault of the parents. And, let’s be honest, children can be jerks, as they haven’t learned the art of having a filter between the brain and the mouth. Not that Democrats have learned this, either.

They keep on in this fashion, ending their squishy emotional laden missive with an idea

Rather than rip apart hardworking parents from their children, our society should provide meaningful immigration reforms, and invest in these children.

In other words, reward people who are unlawfully present in the United States with citizenship. Democrats love rewarding criminals.

Trump Expected To Announce Paris Climate Accord Decision Thursday Afternoon

What will he announce?

CNN is not taking this well

President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, two senior US officials familiar with his plans told CNN Wednesday, a major break from international partners that would isolate the United States in global efforts to curb global warming.

The decision would put the US at odds with nearly every other nation on earth. It would reflect a major reversal of the Obama administration’s efforts on climate change. And it could trigger further efforts to erode the landmark climate accord.

This would be the agreement that is non-binding, has voluntary goals, and, if the models behind the agreement are correct, would reduce warming by a mere .3 Fahrenheit by the end of the century, all while killing economies and cost hundreds of trillions. Even United Nations groups think the agreement is a failure waiting to happen.

The LA Times Editorial Board has a serious hot-take

If Trump withdraws from the Paris agreement, let’s hope the world survives

This is one campaign promise that President Trump should have let slide. According to news reports, Trump is on the verge of announcing that yes, he will withdraw the United States from the 2015 Paris climate agreement among nearly 200 nations. If that comes to pass, the move will just make it more difficult for the world to counter the worst effects of the global warming that’s already underway. The more level-headed and reality-based members of Trump’s inner circle need to redouble their efforts now to turn their boss around. (snip)

If the latest reports are true, though, he must not have listened to what every other leader at the G-7 summit in Sicily was saying. The withdrawal would also send a troubling signal that the nationalists on his team have won out over the realists, which means the administration is becoming more inwardly focused as the world is growing more globally connected.

Interestingly, for all the yammering from the “anti-fascist” forces, known as Antifa (who are themselves Progressives, with their roots in the Fascist movement), Trump has mostly made moves to reduce the scope of governmental control of citizens, private entities, energy, and the economy. Other than the silly Ryancare/Trumpcare health insurance mandate, which essentially replaces one mandate with another, it’s all about government out of our lives. These G-7 leaders are at odds with Trump because they want to increase governmental control over citizens, private entities, everything, while increasing taxation and fees.

The world survived without the U.S. in the Kyoto Protocol, and it will survive without the U.S. in the big government, big taxation, big redistribution scheme known as the Paris Climate Agreement.

Hot-takes abound, with Warmists freaking out all over the place. Let’s wait and see what Trump has to say this afternoon.

Pulling Out Of Non-Binding Agreement With Voluntary Targets Means Sea Rise Doom Or Something

The amount of hyperventimoonbating emanating from Warmists, most of whom do not seem to realize that all the rules, regs, taxes, fees, etc will harm themselves (unless they’re in the Rich class), has been amusing all day long, and will continue to be amusing for days, if not weeks. I recommend that Mr. Trump make the announcement on Friday, just to ruin the weekends of Warmists. Here’s hilarity from ABC News in Tampa Bay, a good example of how the news media has abandoned all pretense of impartiality

With US pulling out of climate change pact, rising sea levels a serious concern in Pinellas County

A senior White House official tells ABC News that President Donald Trump is poised to drop out of the Paris Climate Accord.

The non-binding international agreement was designed to help slow global climate change. It went into effect last year and calls for countries to set goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reports ABC News.

The news from the White House has many in the Tampa Bay Area more concerned than ever about sea levels.

One of the environmental impacts of a rising global temperature is the melting of the polar ice caps, which is causing water levels to rise globally, according to the global scientific community, including local scientists.

Got that? A non-binding pact that has voluntary goals. How’d the binding Kyoto Protocol, which the US said “no” on, work out? Less than half of the signatory nations hit their targets, which were a modest 5% reduction. The US did it without even signing on or implementing draconian rules, regs, and taxes/fees.

But, this is all the worst type of doomsaying. The Florida Gulf coast has seen no acceleration of sea rise, just a low level rise one would expect for a minor warm period. Less than 1 foot per 100 years. Perhaps ABC Tampa should look at real world data before fearmongering. Meh. None of them do. Data is irrelevant on their march to Progressivism (nice fascism).

Nordic PM’s Troll Trump’s “Orb” Photo Or Something

Yeah, this happened

(Reuters) World leaders don’t generally troll each other, but the prime ministers of the five Nordic countries are giving it a shot.

They just posted a photograph of themselves clasping a soccer ball — a droll take on a photo of President Trump, Saudi King Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi holding a glowing orb that went viral last week.

That orb was an illuminated globe at the Global Centre for Combating Extremist Ideology in Riyadh, the opening of which the three leaders were attending on May 21. Eerie lighting gave the photo an aura of comic-book villains plotting world domination, an image that proved irresistible to the Twitterati.

And, apparently, it was just as irresistible to Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Juha Sipila, Bjarni Benediktsson, Erna Solberg and Stefan Lofven, the prime ministers of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden respectively.

Here’s the photo

One has to wonder at the motivations. Good natured or snotty?

“Who rules the world? Riyadh vs Bergen,” Solberg wrote under the Trump photo and the photo of her and her fellow Nordic leaders.

“Don’t know what those in the upper photo were thinking,” she wrote. “In the lower one are the five Nordic prime ministers, holding a ball with the sustainability goals. We’re hoping they’ll be a roadmap for the future.”

Kinda hard to have “sustainability goals”, which are about ‘climate change’, when your nations are being overrun with Islamic refugees bringing their cultures of rape and such. This especially should ring true for Sweden’s PM Stefan Lofven. As for Ms. Solberg, if your country has to give classes to refugees explaining that rape is bad, you’re letting the wrong ones in.

Interestingly, they’re trying to walk the trolling back

Norwegian government official Sigbjoern Aanes says the photo taken Monday at a meeting of regional government heads in Norway was meant as “a funny stunt” to promote U.N. environmental sustainability goals, which were written on the soccer ball.

He told The Associated Press that Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg only later realized that the photo was reminiscent of the one of Trump at the opening of a counterterrorism center in Saudi Arabia earlier this month. Trump, the Saudi king and the president of Egypt gathered around a lighted orb.

Uh huh.

Report: Trump Has Decided To Pull Out Of Obama’s Paris Climate Agreement

It’s great news if real, per Jonathan Swann at Axios

Scoop: Trump is pulling U.S. out of Paris climate deal

President Trump has made his decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the decision. Details on how the withdrawal will be executed are being worked out by a small team including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. They’re deciding on whether to initiate a full, formal withdrawal — which could take 3 years — or exit the underlying United Nations climate change treaty, which would be faster but more extreme.

Why this matters: Pulling out of Paris is the biggest thing Trump could do to unravel Obama’s climate legacy. It sends a combative signal to the rest of the world that America doesn’t prioritize climate change and threatens to unravel the ambition of the entire deal.

If true, how will he do it? The NY Times reported this morning that there is a big tug of war between Trump advisors on pulling out. Apparently, the pro-Paris agreement folks lost.

Hopefully, more details will follow. And a tweet from Mr. Trump.

Hispanic Caucus Pretty Upset Over Appointment Of Illegal Alien Hardliner

If it was a Republican group coming after Julie Kirchner, it would be deemed sexist, and that Republicans were afraid of a strong women. Patriarchy! Misogyny! In reality land, one has to wonder why people who take an oath to support and defend the Constitution are against upholding the law

Hispanic Caucus Calls on DHS to Remove Immigration Hardliner as Ombudsman

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is criticizing the appointment of a Citizenship and Immigration Services ombudsman who previously worked for a group that supports immigration restrictions as “offensive, insensitive and malicious”

The caucus has called for the removal of Julie Kirchner, a former executive director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform. Lawmakers said she “made a career of attacking immigrant communities” during her time with FAIR.

FAIR is staunchly opposed to illegal immigration and advocates restrictions on legal immigration.

“I think it’s a huge mistake because it brings fear into the homes of many people who feel that are not going to be treated in a way that respect their constitutional rights,” Rep. Juan Vargas, D-California, told NBC News.

Newsflash: they’re here in violation of federal law. They should be fearful. If the Hispanic Caucus is unable to support the duly enacted laws of the United States, along with the provision of the Constitition that it’s their duty to defend the U.S. from foreign invasion, well, they should resign. They took their oath (#3) “freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion” and stated they would “faithfully discharge the duties of the office”.

Another hire of concern to immigration activists is Jon Feere, a former legal policy analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies, a conservative group that advocates for greater immigration restrictions. He was recently named a special adviser to Thomas D. Homan, acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. (snip)

When asked about the hires, a White House official told NBC News,The President campaigned on increased border security and enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws and that’s exactly what the administration has been focused on.”

If the Hispanic Caucus doesn’t like it, well, then they should win the White House. In the meantime, they have a duty to perform based on the laws passed and the Constitution, but, then, those pesky things never stopped Democrats in the past.

In other illegal immigration news, it seems that sheriffs are pretty enthused about being able to enforce the law on illegals

We conducted a national survey of more than 500 sheriffs in 2012 and asked them about their attitudes, policies, and practices in their offices. Sheriffs are interesting because unlike most police chiefs, they are elected officials with a lot of independence and power — and a lot of responsibilities for making and carrying out policy. Studying sheriffs lets us look at how attitudes shape policies among elected officials.

Generally, sheriffs favor more resources and power to control immigration but do not have really negative attitudes about immigrants themselves.

We found that 85 percent of sheriffs agree that there should be more federal spending on tightening border security and preventing illegal immigration. And 70 percent of sheriffs thought that law enforcement should be allowed to ask about individuals’ citizenship status during routine patrols. That’s true even though only 38 percent say that immigrants take advantage of jobs and opportunities here without doing enough to give back to the community.

More and more sheriff’s departments are joining the 287(g) program, and “immigration arrests and deportations of nonviolent offenders have increased dramatically.” And then we have

Immigration rights groups are accusing federal officials of issuing blanket bond denials to detainees as a way to send a clear message to others: the era of being allowed out while awaiting a deportation court hearing is over.

Maligned by critics for years as “catch-and-release,” US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been clamping down on allowing detainees out while they await immigration court hearings, driving up the ranks of those in holding facilities, according to a letter sent to ICE Tuesday on behalf of more than 200 advocacy organizations.

Sheriff’s enthused? Going after more illegals? Restricting catch and release? Illegal alien hardliners in office? It’s all cause for

Woman Killed By Bear In Japan So ‘Climate Change’

How many times have I mentioned that if something is happening, the Cult of Climastrology will link it to ‘climate change’ in some form or fashion? Here we go again

(UK Telegraph) A woman has been killed in an apparent bear attack while picking wild bamboo shoots in the mountains of northern Japan.

The body of Masako Oishi, 61, a nursing assistant, was reportedly found with gashes to the back of her head in a mountainous forest in Akita prefecture, which is known to be populated by bears.

The incident comes just weeks after local police issued warnings to residents living in remote mountainous areas of northern Japan to look out for bears.

They even provide a handy dandy picture showing what climate change bears look like

While this is certainly tragic, having a woman killed by a bear, people are killed by animals all the time, but, hey, the UK Telegraph provides the conclusion, after first noting that, get this, bears tend to frequent the area because they really like to eat bamboo shoots, and people tend to go to these areas even after being warned

Climate change has also been attributed to the surge in bear attacks in Japan in the past, as a growing number of the creatures reportedly leave their natural habitat in search of food.

We Can Totally Solve Hotcoldwetdry With A Skyhigh Carbon Tax

Isn’t it interesting how personal responsibility is rarely ever mentioned as a solution for ‘climate change’? It’s always things like government restrictions on private citizens and entities, along with taxes and fees

Sky-high carbon tax needed to avoid climate catastrophe, say experts

A group of leading economists warned on Monday that the world risks catastrophic global warming in just 13 years unless countries ramp up taxes on carbon emissions to as much as $100 (£77) per metric tonne.

Experts including Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz and former World Bank chief economist Nicholas Stern said governments needed to move quickly to tackle polluting industries with a tax on carbon dioxide at $40-$80 per tonne by 2020.

A tax of $100 a tonne would be needed by 2030 as one of a series of measures to prevent a rise in global temperatures of 2C. (snip)

The call for action will sting European leaders, who have presided over a carbon trading scheme since 2005 that currently charges major polluters just €6 (£5.20) for every tonne of carbon they release into the atmosphere.

That’s because the carbon trading schemes are only worth that amount. Carbon markets have pretty much collapsed. But, hey, economists who are loving all that sweet, sweet government funding think it would be a great idea to create an artificial market which would end up hurting the poor and middle classes in order to stop climate doom that only exists within ginned-up computer models.
