Play Politics With Irma: People Want Trump To Open Mar-A-Lago As Storm Shelter

No matter what happens, Democrats are required by rule to make it political. It’s what they do. And, as you read this, remember that the publication date shows two hours before the posting of this post, as the hurricane has already been lashing Florida

Florida residents call on Trump to open Mar-a-Lago as a shelter for hurricane victims

In some locations, people are arriving at the doors only to be told that there is no room for them there. Frustrated with what has been seen as a lack of communication from local officials — and, in some cases, conflicting messages about where to go — some are asking a simple question: Why hasn’t Donald Trump said he will use his Mar-a-Lago resort as a place of refuge for desperate Americans?

“Of course he should” open up Mar-a-Lago, Rick Castillo said, standing just in front of his beachside home in Hollywood. Mr Castillo had prepared his home the best he could, and was admiring the crashing waves in front of him before the worst of Irma arrived.

Mr Castillo said that he wasn’t worried about the storm anymore — forecasts no longer say that the eastern coast of Florida will experience direct landfall — but said that the ramped up concern in recent days had forced people to help one another, to be as selfless as possible. On Friday, he had picked up a shovel to help others fill sandbags from the beach to bring home for safety.

“He should be doing anything to help the public,” Mr Castillo said of the President. “When people need help, you either help or you turn your head. I think Trump is turning his head.”

In other words, the Independent searched for a person to take shots at Trump because #Resist. Even though Mar-a-Lago isn’t actually set up as a shelter. And

Mr Trump’s Mar-a-Lago beach side resort was ordered to be evacuated Friday alongside all of the ritzy Palm Beach Island where it sits. The resort is located on a low-lying strip of land that runs against the Atlantic Ocean, and is separated from the mainland by yet another body of narrow water. Some of the country’s most expensive real estate is located on those same barrier islands where Mr Trump’s property sits.

That’s right, there was a mandatory evacuation order. And shelters from hurricanes are typically not going to be in the lowest lying areas in buildings with tons of windows that can break and are a couple hundred yards from the waterway, which can, you know, flood from storm surge. Sorry, sorry, facts in the middle of a Narrative.

However, it could potentially provide shelter in the wake of Hurricane Irma for those that may see their houses flooded.

Cult of Climastrology members came up with this graphic to show what extreme sea rise!!!!!! could do to Mar-a-Lago.

While dumb and climahysterical, this is what storm surge could do to the place. But, hey, let’s use it as a shelter! Brilliant idea! From 2 people.

If their homes flood, so does Mar-a-Lago. The story, which features exactly one (1) person making a political complaint (and is called “residents” in the headline) was surely precipitated by the tweet from Nutty Michael Moore, which is mentioned in the article. Raw Story writes

That’s why many in South Florida are wondering why the president isn’t stepping in to help, The Independent reported Saturday.

Two, Michael Moore (who is nowhere near the zone – perhaps he could jet in and help people?) and Mr. Castillo are now “many.” That’s the new math in our public education system.

Huh: Transgendered Boy Suddenly Realizes He Doesn’t Like Being A “Girl”

Kids are weird. They want all sorts of things that may not be good for them, and a parent’s job is to attempt to mitigate the nutty behavior, especially when it can cause real big problems, not to help propagate that behavior. If a child likes stealing candy bars from the convenience store, it would be utterly irresponsible for the parent to tolerate this, right? Yet, there are plenty who help kids who have loopy thoughts on gender

(Daily Caller) A 12-year-old Australian transgender boy, who transitioned into a girl two years ago, is featured in an upcoming episode of Australian “60 Minutes” – where he reveals that he no longer wants to be a girl.

After doctors diagnosed Patrick Mitchell with gender dysphoria he begged his mother to let him take female replacement hormones, The Independent reported.

Gender dysphoria is considered by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to be a “mental disorder,” while the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes it as a “mental illness.”

He received support from his mom, who allowed him to take hormone therapy, and began to grow breasts

“In the beginning of 2017, teachers at school began to refer to him as a girl which triggered Mitchell to question if he had made the right decision,” the independent added.

After reflecting on the decision to become a girl, Mitchell decided that he no longer wanted to be a girl.

“I began to realize I was actually comfortable in my body. Every day I just felt better,” Mitchell said.

Now he will need surgery to remove the breasts. This is a lesson that parents should take charge and realize that a child is not competent to make this kind of decision, nor go through with this kind of insanity. If the child wants to do this to themselves when they become an adult, fine, that’s their mental disorder.

RSS seems to be working correctly now, after watching it for a fee days. Not sure what caused it to stop and now start.

I’ve seen some comments in the spam que that shouldn’t have been. I’ve taken them out. I haven’t changed any rules, so, again, not sure why went in to start.

If you drop a comment and it doesn’t post, tweet or email me. I’ll keep an eye on it and see about white listing if keeps happening.

Al Gore Warned Us About Hurricanes Or Something

It’s been noted many, many times by many, many Skeptics, including myself, that it was almost 12 years since the last major hurricane struck the United States, the longest period in our record without one. Furthermore, landfalling hurricane activity dropped precipitously after 2008, with. You could count them on one hand, which was also unusual. This was always expected to change. So, now we have this hot take

That’s right, Gore warned us there would be hurricanes during hurricane season. Surprise! Interestingly, Newsweek is also running an article saying not to blame Irma on ‘climate change.’ I guess the writers forgot to consult with each other.’

But, we also have this from Ross McKitrick (bold is mine)

(Cato) After Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, it didn’t take long for climate alarmists to claim they knew all along it would happen. Politico’s Eric Holthaus declared “We knew this would happen, decades ago.” Naomi Klein stated “these events have long been predicted by climate scientists.” Joe Romm at ThinkProgress wrote, “the fact is that Harvey is exactly the kind of off-the-charts hurricane we can expect to see more often because of climate change.”

According to these and other authors, rising greenhouse gas levels are at least partly to blame for the occurrence and severity of Harvey, and probably for Hurricane Irma as well. But after-the-fact guesswork is not science. If any would-be expert really knew long ago that Harvey was on its way, let him or her prove it by predicting what next year’s hurricane season will bring.

Don’t hold your breath: Even the best meteorologists in the world weren’t able to predict the development and track of Hurricane Harvey until a few days before it hit.

This is why the idea of climate science being “settled” is so ludicrous, at least as regards the connection between global warming and tropical cyclones. A settled theory makes specific predictions that can, in principle, be tested against observed data. A theory that only yields vague, untestable predictions is, at best, a work in progress.

Let’s not forget that even the UN IPCC refuses to create a link between these types of systems and anthropogenic climate change. This is why so many Warmists are claiming that they would happen anyhow, but that ‘climate change’ made them worse.

The climate alarmists offer a vague prediction: Hurricanes may or may not happen in any particular year, but when they do, they will be more intense than they would have been if GHG levels were lower. This is a convenient prediction to make because we can never test it. It requires observing the behaviour of imaginary storms in an unobservable world. Good luck collecting the data.

No worries, they’ll manufacture the data afterwards. And they’ll continue to blame Bad Weather when it happens (which it always will) on Other People driving fossil fueled vehicles.

I’ve been challenging Warmists to make predictions every year since 2011. Here’s 2017’s. I’d love to see the big shots on the Skeptic side challenge all the Warmists to post their predictions. They keep telling us they know what the weather will do with their computer models, so, pony up. They won’t, though, because it’s a lot easier to say “see, we told you this would happen” afterwards.

Hot Take: Irma’s Locked And Loaded Towards Trump Properties

Remember, though, that the media is totally non-partisan and utterly un-biased, so the news media tells us. And that’s how we end up with this bit of unhinged #resist from NBC News and writer Ben Popken (via Twitchy)

Irma Locked and Loaded Towards Several Trump Properties

Ire and fury are expected to rain down on several properties owned by President Donald Trump that lie in the projected path of Hurricane Irma.

Three of the 12 Trump-named U.S. golf courses are in south Florida and due for impact, as well as Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, dubbed his “Winter White House.” The private club and resort with an estimated value of $175 million lies in the mandatory evacuation zone announced for Palm Beach County last night. (snip)

Several other Trump Organization properties could also be tested by a diminished Irma if it turns north once it reaches Florida, as several computer models predict. Then it might lash the Trump National Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina; and the 1,300 acre Trump Winery in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Virginia.

While it might seem to be “news”, this is simply Trump living rent free in the heads of leftist news idiots like Popken. Seriously

BTW, I thought the phrase “locked and loaded” was bad? No? Only when used by Democrats?

Meanwhile, lots of Democrats are really excited to see Trump voters harmed and killed by Irma. Because they’re totally tolerant and loving and if you say different they will call for your death.

The Hurricanes Are Sending Trump A Message On ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

It’s all about the man-made toxic gases, you guys. Probably from you, as we head over to the Miami Herald, where opinion Warmist Andre Oppenheimer apparently has nothing better to worry about

President Trump, hurricanes Harvey and Irma are sending you a message

As a Miami Beach resident who is writing this surrounded by sand bags in preparation for Hurricane Irma, only a week after Hurricane Harvey ravaged Texas, I have an urgent question for President Donald Trump and his fellow climate change deniers: how many natural disasters will it take for you to listen to the world’s most prestigious scientists?

All of them, because they are natural disasters, hence the word “natural.” Things that have been happening long since Mankind’s records

Climate deniers like Trump, citing fake news reports and pseudo-scientific studies, say the world has always had warmer and colder periods, and the current wave of global warming is just one more. According to their logic — and that of polluting industries that are behind it — mankind has nothing to do with this. It’s just nature, they claim.

How much in the way of fossil fuels and electricity were used to produce the paper and distribute it so that people can read this claptrap?

But 97 percent of climate scientists agree that global warming is being caused by man-made toxic gases, according to a 2013 scientific paper that examined 11,944 climate abstracts. That paper drives climate skeptics mad, but virtually all studies show that there is a near total consensus around man-made climate change among scientists, and that climate deniers are in most cases pseudo-scientists or conservative radio charlatans.

People who are quoting the utterly discredited and debunked pseudo science Cook et all 97% paper shouldn’t be casting any stones, especially when they yammer about a trace gas necessary for life on earth. But, then, Warmists live in their own little fantasy world, much like those practicing Scientology.

The Mexico Earthquake Is ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

In case you missed it

(ABC News)  At least 15 people were killed as a magnitude-8.1 earthquake rocked Mexico late Thursday night, leveling buildings in southern Mexico, triggering tsunami warning in several countries and causing people to flee into the street, buildings to sway and lights to go out in Mexico City, some 650 miles from the quake’s epicenter.

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who said the quake was 8.2 in magnitude, called it the strongest the country has seen in a century. The U.S. Geological Survey measured it at 8.1 magnitude.

The powerful temblor occurred some 50 miles southwest of Pijijiapan, Mexico, off the coast of the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, at 11:49 p.m. local time (12:49 a.m. ET), according to the USGS. The depth of the earthquake was 43 miles, the USGS said.

You know what’s coming, right?

It’s Again Time For The “Climate Change Denial Should Be A Crime” Memes

Is it actually “science denial” when 95% of the climate models are wrong? Is it science denial when virtually every prediction that the Cult of Climastrology makes falls apart? Is it science denial when Skeptics note that the data is massaged, manipulated, spun, and/or manufactured?

This little bit of nuttiness was written by Brian Merchant

Hurricane Harvey has drowned the paved, populous sprawl of Houston to an extent that, to most Americans, is all but inconceivable. Our fourth-largest city is now a sunken, subdivided ghost ship. Tens of billions of dollars of damage done. Countless homes, the vast majority uninsured, lost. Thirty-eight people killed (so far).

In such a storm’s wake, we are often reminded that it’s time to band together, to persevere, and to rebuild. Now we are also reminded, correctly, that this is what climate change looks like. These are the two guiding mantras of modern natural disaster recovery: Come together; global warming is here and now and we’d best get to work. Neither is sufficient.

We are not as often reminded that homes and lives may have been saved if officials and policymakers had incorporated the recommendations of sound science in their outlook and preparedness plans. Which is why we need to add a third response to our evolving national post-catastrophic storm mourning ritual: Identifying and investigating the negligent officials who put the public in harm’s way by repeatedly ignoring crucial data and scientific evidence that can help prevent disaster.

Would a carbon tax have stopped Harvey? How about having your cost of living artificially increased by government and losing some of your liberty? If you were forced to have a smart meter? Not allowed to use a hair dryer? Had to purchase carbon offsets?

Scientists knew a disaster like Harvey was coming….

Of course they did. Because hurricanes happen, there’s a yearly hurricane season, and storms make landfall

…Those in power who refused to listen — who refused to use the best available data to do their jobs of protecting their constituents from disaster — should be held accountable. Mike Talbott’s department could have acted on sound evidence and saved lives. They did not. They repeatedly favored development over public safety, going so far as to allow 7,000 homes to be built in low-lying, flood-vulnerable areas since 2010. It is impossible to determine how many have died as a result of any official’s refusal to appropriately prepare the city for disaster, but there is little doubt some of the blame for the scale of this calamity is theirs. The Washington Post generously calls it “ignorance.” But it’s high time to start taking this pointed refusal to prepare, this refusal to observe the basic tenets of science seriously — and call it what it is: Negligence. Criminal negligence, even.

According to the Texas penal code, “A person acts with criminal negligence, or is criminally negligent… when he ought to be aware of a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the circumstances exist or the result will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise….”

All right, you have the idea, Brad is recommending that all officials who have Wrongthink on ‘climate change’ be prosecuted and jailed. Much like in the old Soviet Union, Mao’s China, the Third Reich, Fascist Italy, and hardcore Islamic nations like Iran, among other examples.

And, of course, Brad wants Trump prosecuted. Heck, he even alludes to the notion that every Tea Party member, and perhaps almost every Republican voter, should be prosecuted for this Wrongthink. Because people have died during Harvey. Unlike the 6,000-12,000 (no one is really sure) that died during the Great Galveston hurricane in 1900 when CO2 was below 350ppm.
