Hey, Let’s Meet A “Soon To Be Un-Documented” Illegal Demanding We Accommodate Her

Yet another sob story

Meet Pamela, a soon-to-be-undocumented immigrant fighting to stay and contribute to the U.S.

Pamela Chomba, a 28-year-old New Jersey resident who’s been in the United States for 17 years, held her breath when President Donald Trump announced the end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in early September.

Her DACA status, a program that was never authorized by the duly elected legislative branch, ends in October 2018. How’s she contributing?

Two months after Trump wound down the program, Chomba is now asking lawmakers in Washington, D.C. to pursue legislation that makes her protections permanent. DACA has made her financially stable, first as a community organizer with then-Mayor Cory Booker (D-NJ) and now as the Northeast Organizing Director at FWD.US, a lobbying group that advocates for immigration reform. From now until her DACA status expires, Chomba aims to put pressure on lawmakers to understand the costs of inaction for individuals like her as well as for the U.S. economy as a whole.

Another worthless parasite doing “organizing” garbage, liked demanding that America acquiesce to her demands

Out of economic necessity, Chomba came to the country at the age of 11 with her parents and siblings from Lima, Peru back in 2001. Her parents overstayed their visas, but eventually fell out of status.

For Chomba, a permanent solution is crucial to keeping her family intact. Her parents are undocumented. She and a younger sibling are part of the 22,227 people in the state of New Jersey who have DACA. Her youngest brother is a U.S. citizen. She’s not alone. Roughly 500,000 undocumented immigrants in New Jersey live in a similar mixed-immigration status situation, according to 2014 data. Approximately 604,000 U.S. citizens in the state live with at least one undocumented family member.

And this is where the DACA argument breaks down, as I’ve discussed. Not only do the illegal “kids” demand legal status, but, they want it for all their family members, as well, who are often the ones who committed the “sin” of bringing the kids illegally. And not just for Dreamer “kids”, they want legal status for all the other illegals out there.

Losing workers like Chomba would also mean employers would have to find, retrain, and hire people who are just as effective as she has been. She has already thought of what it would mean for her employers at FWD.us once her DACA expires.

It’s not like “community agitator” is a serious help to the economy. Or a serious, grown up job.

“What gets me up every day is the passion from DREAMers,” Chomba said, her voice breaking. “That really gives me esperanza [Spanish for “hope”]…I think, when we win the DREAM Act, we will see this as one of the best moments that we’ve had in politics for a while because we’re finally looking back at ourselves and saying, ‘This is the country we want to be, that we welcome you.’ That’s what gets me up”

She apparently idolizes Michelle Obama, who didn’t like America very much till her husband won office. Chomba apparently doesn’t like America much because we have laws against lawbreakers like her.

Meanwhile, here’s another illegal, who took sanctuary in a church in New Orleans. He has two anchor babies, and apparently doesn’t speak English, even after being here for 14 years. He was busted on a DUI, and is now under a deportation order. Actions have consequences.

Pope Francis Denounces Skeptics Or Something

It’d be nice if Pope Francis was as concerned with radical Islam, the growth of abortion on demand, and other things rather than a scam

Pope Francis denounces climate change deniers

climate change joke

Pope Francis denounced those who deny global warming and urged negotiators at climate talks in Germany to avoid falling prey to such “perverse attitudes” and instead accelerate efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

Francis issued a message Thursday to the Bonn meeting, which is working to implement the 2015 Paris accord aimed at capping global emissions.

In the message, Francis called climate change “one of the most worrisome phenomena that humanity is facing,” and urged negotiators to ignore special interests and political or economic pressures and instead engage in an honest dialogue about the future of the planet.

Interesting: it seems the Church is moving back to a time when it worked hand in hand with government to force acquiescence by citizens. Furthermore, what of all the special interest and stuff that are on the side of the climate scam? Like….Pope Francis!

He denounced that such efforts are often frustrated by those who deny climate change, are indifferent to it, or think it can only be solved by technical solutions.

“Technical solutions.” As opposed to forced government compliance by citizens? Apparently, he wants conversation

Quoting from his pro-environment 2015 encyclical Laudato Si, the pope called for “a conversation which includes everyone, since the environmental challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all”.

Includes everyone, except for those he disagrees with. Progressivism (nice fascism) is great, isn’t it?

It’s Un-American To Pull Out Of Paris Climate Agreement Or Something

Writing for the UK Guardian, which gave up all notions of journalism in their march for Progressive policies, non-climate scientist John Abraham (he’s a mechanical engineer) is all about believing that not believing in anthropogenic climate change is un-American (via Watts Up With That?)

An Inconvenient Sequel – the science, history, and politics of climate change

Al Gore’s new movie ‘An Inconvenient Sequel’ is, in some ways, similar to his groundbreakingInconvenient Truth project, but different in other ways. Those key differences are why I recommend you watch it.

This movie successfully accomplishes a number of interweaving tasks. First, it gives some of the science of climate change. Gore gets his science right. I remember his first movie, which I thought was more steeped in science and data than this one, so based on my recollection this new picture is somewhat abbreviated. That’s a good thing because the science is settled on climate change. That is, the science is settled that humans are causing current climatic changes and the science is settled that we are observing these changes throughout the natural world.

Readers of this column who venture into the comments below will likely find people claiming, “science is never settled.” But the people making those comments are not scientists. They don’t work in this field every day, they don’t see the data, and they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Interestingly, neither is Al Gore. Nor Barack Obama. A goodly chunk of those involved in the UN IPCC, and the present COP23.

The election in the US was a climate disaster and it is turning out to be worse than we could have feared. The US President and Congress are doing everything they can to ensure more rapid and devastating climate change. They are doing everything they can to ensure more California wildfires, more Marias, more Harveys, and more Irmas. They are doing everything they can to bring us more California droughts and wildfires and Texas floods. They are doing everything they can to cut funding from climate science so we won’t know how bad it is. They are doing everything they can to make the USA a pariah nation. In fact, on the day I write this, the US has become the only country to reject the Paris Climate Accord. That is a stunning fact. What kind of country does this?

What they are doing is so un-American; so un-conservative.

It’s always interesting getting inside the mind of a Warmist: in this case, we learn that they believe that massively increasing the size and power of the federal government, instituting massive control over citizens, private entities, the economy, the energy sector, while artificially increasing the cost of living through taxes and fees is totally their idea of “America” and ‘Conservative.” If you’re against that, you’re un-American and un-conservative. Good grief.

Washington Post: Al Franken Is Just The Tip Of The Congressional Harassment Iceberg

One has to wonder if this is a serious concern for the Washington Post Editorial Board, or a bit of Whataboutism designed to protect Franken from calls to resign. Which is ridiculous, because, if he resigns, there’s a good chance another Democrat will replace him, so, it’s not like the Democrats would lose ultimately

Al Franken is just the start of Congress’s reckoning with sexual harassment

DURING A hearing on harassment in the Capitol, Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.) told the story of a young woman whose male boss, a sitting member of Congress, answered the door in a towel and exposed himself when the staffer stopped by his house to drop off materials. Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) said she knew of two current lawmakers, one a Democrat and the other a Republican, who “have engaged in sexual harassment.” And now a Los Angeles radio host has accused Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) of kissing and groping her without her consent.

Mr. Franken’s misconduct occurred in 2006, three years before he entered the Senate. But the allegations against him have brought the nationwide reckoning with sexual harassment into the Capitol. (snip – we know what the deal is with Franken)

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) have both called for an investigation into Mr. Franken’s conduct, to which the senator pledges his cooperation. We’re glad to see members of Mr. Franken’s own party voice their support for a fair probe by the Senate Ethics Committee. Mr. McConnell’s commitment to supporting committee investigations into “all credible allegations of sexual harassment or assault” also must hold firm for members of his own party — not only Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore, into whom Mr. McConnell has promised an ethics probe if Mr. Moore triumphs in an Alabama special election. Ms. Comstock’s and Ms. Speier’s stories show that abuse of power on Capitol Hill is a problem that crosses party lines.

Here’s the question: was it abuse of power? Or just people being jerks? Franken was certainly a jerk in both instances, but, does it rise to the level of sexual harassment? Or just inappropriate contact? Certainly, we’ve all done things that we later regretted, have we not? And, sometimes, we would apologize and atone for the actions. Was dropping the towel from the beginning of the editorial a mistake? Was the Congressman looking for something more? Or just an accident? Part of the problem here is that the SJWs have expanded the definition of sexual harassment well beyond reasonable definition. Just checking out another person is now sexual harassment. Asking for dates is sexual harassment. A wolf whistle, while rude (and, yes, women do all this, too), is now The Worst.

As the committee looks into Mr. Franken’s behavior, it will have to consider what comes next. What level of misconduct merits a lawmaker’s departure from Congress? Should the legislature have a zero-tolerance policy, or can gradations of offense be recognized? If a member’s wrongdoing took place entirely before his time on the Hill, should that affect continued service? Members of the House of Representatives should be asking these same questions.

And that’s where we wonder if this is about protecting Franken. In the private sector, most people who engage in actual sexual harassment will be terminated. I’ve sat in on several cases where employees harassed others. No touching was involved in either. Just poor words and gestures. Only one was dumb enough to make a complaint to the EEOC. For Franken, this occurred prior to his election. Should this mean he should be ousted? Resign? The WPEB doesn’t say

“As elected officials,” Ms. Gillibrand said, “we should be held to the highest standards — not the lowest.” She is right. Both Democrats and Republicans should support measures to hold predators to account, provide victims with support and make clear that all people deserve to be treated with respect.

Let’s be honest: the highest standards train left the station long. Very few good people run for office. And, considering the support of outlets like the Washington Post for people like Robert Byrd, Bill Clinton (and his enabling/protecting wife), and a guy who left a young woman to drown while he lawyered up and created an alibi, perhaps they aren’t the best for holding elected officials accountable.

When Will Democrats Call For Al Franken To Resign Over Sexual Assault?

Yes, Roy Moore should drop out. The allegations are just too much. Oh, and then there’s this (via Twitchy)

That’s a photo of him groping her while she’s asleep, apparently for shits and giggles. And, he apparently forced a kiss on her unwantedly.

At Twitchy, there are lots of tweet threads, such as elected Democrats bending over backwards to avoid discussing. And some Liberals trying to spin this away. And Al Franken’s “apology“, in which he said there should be an ethics investigation into conduct that he, get this, admits to.

Tweeden has accepted his apology, but, hey, under the tenets of Leftist SJW dogma, Franken needs to resign.

Oh, then there’s this

https://twitter.com/MelMorgan1350/status/931221482671300609

Resign, Al.

More: Here’s Morgan’s article.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says she believes Franken’s accusers. Of course, not so much that she thinks he should resign (unlike Roy Moore): she just wants to “hear more.”

But, then, Dems are the party that lionized a guy who left a young woman to drown while he came up with an alibi.

We’re Saved: Pharrell’s ‘Climate Change’ Song To Be Release – In 100 Years

It’s always fantastic when a 1%er who’s living the 1% lifestyle, which includes traveling all around the world on fossil fueled vehicles and using vast amounts of energy for his “concerts” is climate change woke (climawoke?)

Pharrell’s Song That Won’t Be Released for “100 Years” is a Statement About Climate Change

Pharrell Williams just dropped a new song, but you’ll have to wait until 2117 to hear it. That is, unless you were one of the 100 people he premiered it to—who were prohibited from recording it—in Shanghai at a listening party thrown by Louis XIII cognac, which teamed up with Pharrell on the project designed to raise awareness for climate change. Fittingly dubbed “100 years,” the song is a statement about the disastrous effect humans have on the environment, including a rising sea level. If humans continue to contribute to the rising sea level, however, even in 100 years people may not get to hear the song as it’s currently being stored in a clay vessel that will be destroyed should its storage unit ever flood.

In case you’re wondering, yes, Pharrell was in Shanghai. And, a typical 750ml bottle of Louis XIII cognac goes for around $3,000, so, not exactly a middle class liquor, wouldn’t you say?

(Vogue) “I want to be really clear that I am not a tree hugger. I think it’s important that every human being—from the most eco-aware person to someone that’s driving a diesel truck—always has a sense of terrestrial awareness. That’s what it boils down to.”

In other words, do what I say, not what I do.

GOP Tax Reform Will Hurt Illegal Alien Children Or Something

This has upset the usual illegal alien supporting idiots

200+ Groups Say GOP Tax Plans Hurt Immigrant Children: Advocates Urge Lawmakers to Reject “anti-child and anti-immigrant proposals”

More than 200 organizations Wednesday sent Members of Congress a joint letter opposing tax legislation advanced by Republican leadership of the United States Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. The letter, led by the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) and the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), focuses on provisions that will drive up child poverty by denying tax benefits to immigrant children. It was signed by dozens of other local, state, and national organizations, ranging from the National Association of Social Workers and the National Education Association to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and UnidosUS.

“This letter sends a clear message to lawmakers on both sides of the aisle: attacks on immigrant families face fierce opposition from national and local leaders all over America,” said Marielena Hincapié, the executive director of the National Immigration Law Center.

The letter focuses on provisions of the House and Senate tax bills that would deny the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and its refundable portion to children who lack a Social Security Number (SSN). Both bills directly target approximately 1 million DREAMer children and their families, threatening to drive them into poverty. Targeting any children in a family will harm the family as a whole – and over 5 million children live in mixed-status households. The House proposal includes similar provisions restricting eligibility for the American Opportunity Tax Credit, which helps students access postsecondary education.

Good grief. We shouldn’t be giving tax breaks and money back to people who are unlawfully present in the United States in the first place. We did not ask them to come here. We did not give them permission to come here. If they do not like the notion that they do not get various tax credits, tough. Leave.

The U.S. tax code should not be providing support for anyone who is illegally present in the U.S.

Washington Post Is Enraged Over California Shooting, And Wants Congress To Do Something

According to the Brady Campaign, California is the state with the most gun restrictions. They have 8 laws on “assault weapons” and magazine size. Eleven on background checks. Seven on high risk gun possession. Twelve on buyer regulations. Seven for possession. Eighteen for domestic violence. The Washington Post Editorial Board seems to forget this

Don’t be relieved only five people died in California. Be enraged.

SO INURED has this country become to mass shootings that when another person with a semiautomatic weapon goes on a rampage, we’re conditioned to focus on reactions, rather than root causes. In the case of an incident in Northern California on Tuesday, we feel gratitude that quick action by school officials saved children’s lives, that police acted heroically and that this time only five people were killed. Yet what ought to be foremost is rage at the refusal of lawmakers to take action that might prevent these needless tragedies — and a renewed demand for sensible gun-control regulations, including a ban on assault weapons and comprehensive background checks with better enforcement.

They have all those in California.

The killer was known to authorities. He had been arrested in January and was out on bail on charges that he stabbed a neighbor. There was a restraining order against him. There had been complaints about him firing rounds for days before Tuesday’s events. And there had been a call to police about domestic violence. Family members said he had a history of mental illness and episodes of rage. Yet there he was — a poster child for someone who shouldn’t have guns — wearing a ballistic vest and equipped with at least a semiautomatic rifle and two handguns.

Wait, he had weapons? In California? How’d that happen?

How did that occur? The shooter had been ordered by a court in April to surrender all his firearms. Was there a breakdown in the system? “There must be,” the killer’s sister said, “some gates on people like this from getting guns. This is the same story we’re hearing more and more.” Sadly, though, it is one that has yet to register with Congress.

What is Congress supposed to do, pray tell? He wasn’t supposed to have guns. Do you know what he did, because he couldn’t legally purchase them?

(USA Today) Two of the guns used in the Tehama County mass shooting on Tuesday were homemade, while the other two were not registered to the shooter, officials said.

That’s right, he made two rifles from parts. He obtained the handguns elsewhere. All in violation of California law, not too mention the restraining order on him possessing guns, per California law.

(Newser) The man who killed five people in a shooting rampage in California on Tuesday was banned by court order from owning firearms—and police are being criticized for failing to take action after neighbors in Rancho Tehama Reserve complained that he had been firing hundreds of rounds. At a press conference Wednesday, Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said Kevin Janson Neal refused to cooperate with investigators, the Sacramento Bee reports. “He was not law enforcement friendly. He would not come to the door,” Johnston said. “You have to understand, we can’t anticipate what people are going to do. We don’t have a crystal ball.” Neal was out on bail after being charged with assault in January.

The systems in place stopped him from having legally purchased firearms. So the whackjob built them/stole them. And then the government failed. What, exactly, is Congress to do about this? What laws not already in place would have stopped this tragic incident? Even a full on ban on guns wouldn’t stop this. Because criminals will criminal.
