Lindsay Graham: Trump Deserves Nobel Prize If North Korea Gives Up Nukes

Lindsay Graham was once a big time never Trumper. Now we get things like this

(Real Clear Politics) Sen. Lindsey Graham told ‘Fox & Friends’ Friday morning that if North and South Korea make peace and North Korea gets rid of its nuclear weapons President Trump “deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.”

SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM: Okay, so here’s the deal. It wouldn’t have happened without Trump. It may not happen, but it is the biggest change since the end of the hostilities. The fact that the North Korean and South Korean presidents met, and they vowed to end the war. What happened? Donald Trump convinced North Korea and China he was serious about bringing about change. We’re not there yet but if this happens President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

All of the criticism of President Trump on fire and fury and maximum pressure – I’m glad he didn’t listen to all of those who failed before him. He has convinced North Korea that you’ve got two options: you can become a normal country or we will take you down if you keep trying to build missiles to hit the American homeland and I think they convinced North Korea and China that Trump is serious. Every president before him tried this. What is different about Trump?

He goes on to say that we aren’t quite there yet, but, if we do get there, this is big.

Further

(The Hill) Rep. Luke Messer (R-Ind.) is pressing colleagues to support President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Messer says it would recognize Trump for his role in the new peace talks between North and South Korea.

“We are seeing unprecedented progress toward peace, and it’s a direct result of President Trump’s strong leadership,” said Messer, who is battling fellow GOP Rep. Todd Rokita (Ind.) and former Rep. Mike Braun in a primary to take on Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly.

“Following this historic announcement, President Trump should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Our peace through strength strategy is delivering never before seen results,” Messer added in a statement.

Hey, Obama got a Nobel for ….. being elected and talking a lot. Of course, we’re starting to see things like

Liberals are attempting to find ways to make sure Trump gets no credit for anything that happens in regards to the Koreas.

The Sierra Club Wants Climate Reparations Or Something

Well, of course they do, because their lawyers and Luddite group overall would stand to benefit, all while refusing to give up their own use of fossil fuels

The Case for Climate Reparations
Who should pay the costs for climate-change-related disasters?

(skipping past the long human drama stories about people who’ve dealt with weather related incidents, which never happened before fossil fuels, you know. And there are more throughout the screed)

The debate over climate accountability is not new. In the late 1980s, when climatologists were still trying to determine the magnitude of the risks from industrial greenhouse gas emissions, academics and policy specialists began calling attention to the fact that the alteration of the planet’s atmosphere would lead to unequal harms, and that basic principles of fairness would require that those harms be compensated. The issue of “loss and damage” entered into the formal United Nations–sponsored climate negotiations in 2007, when the Bali Action Plan suggested that wealthy nations take (unspecified) steps to assist “particularly vulnerable” countries. The Bali Action Plan established the idea—at least in theory—that the rich countries that have built their wealth by burning fossil fuels should help the poorer nations that are suffering disproportionate harms from a distorted atmosphere.

“Climate change reparations” is the shorthand for this claim—reparations meaning, basically, “a rectification of past and ongoing harms.” A plainer word would be justice. But justice is elusive, difficult to calculate, and often impossible to enforce. The notion of climate reparations, also referred to as “climate restitution,” has proved radioactive within international climate change talks, as richer nations resist acknowledging the responsibilities they may hold.

Then lots of yammering about weather which is all Bad now, because shut up, we said so, why are you questioning us? And they get into what they call the “Carbon Barrons”, essentially fossil fuels companies and all those associated with the fossil fuels business

The new climate restitution lawsuits enjoy advantages their predecessors didn’t. Although the lawsuits are ambitious in their goals, they are relatively modest in their tactics. The municipal and county lawsuits rest on middle-of-the-road tort law surrounding product liability and the “polluter pays” principle. The lawsuits claim that the Carbon Barons caused public and private nuisances when they failed to disclose the inherent dangers of fossil fuel combustion, dangers that they themselves have been aware of for decades. The opening line of the New York City complaint reads, “This lawsuit is based upon the fundamental principle that a corporation that makes a product causing severe harm when used exactly as intended should shoulder the costs of abating that harm.”

As much as the Warmists try and position it as all Bad, Mankind has never gone as far forward as they have during this Holocene warm period, so, even if the Cult of Climastrology is correct that humanity is mostly/solely responsible for the slight warming, things have gone pretty well for Humanity. And weather has always happened. The CoC can’t prove that weather was better during previous times during the Holocene when there were no fossil fueled vehicles.

Anyhow, this is a long, long whiny piece of bullshit, so let’s skip to the end

THE LAW IS AN IMPERFECT extension of ethics. Tort law alone isn’t going to save the planet. Even if, after years of litigation, the pending cases succeed, the question of climate restitution may well be too large for the courtroom, the damages too vast for any single judge or jury to decide. This century will witness trillions of dollars of infrastructure and wealth destroyed in the course of unnatural disasters. Millions of human lives may be lost in heat waves, droughts, fires, and floods. Beyond the losses for human civilization, there are the damages to wild nature—the altered forests and the acidic seas. Is any settlement large enough to remedy the extinction of a species? One stumbles in trying to make such a reckoning.

Yet a reckoning must be made. While the courts are, for now, the best and most likely venue for achieving some amends, climate justice is ultimately a political problem. After all, we are not merely consumers seeking compensation for a product defect. We are citizens insisting that impunity is unacceptable in a republic governed by the rule of law. The demand for climate change reparations—that is to say, some redress for climate change’s recent past, present, and likely future damages—is the base minimum required for any accounting of a crime as insidious as the profit-driven alteration of Earth’s atmosphere.

The urgency of this attempt cannot be overstated. This effort to apportion responsibility is in a race against time and the implacable physics of Earth’s vast systems. The longer the Carbon Barons are able to delay justice, the sooner a worse judgment will come for all of us, the innocent as well as the guilty.

They’re selling a product people want. A product most Warmists refuse to give up for their own lives. I suggest that all Warmists sell their fossil fueled vehicle, and, if there’s a profit, donate it to….well, no one really knows where. And, they should take one quarter of their yearly salary and donate it to ….. well, again, no one really knows. Because this whole thing is just an attempt to create a shakedown, which will harm the middle class and the poor. It won’t hurt the rich people who push as this Cult of Climastrology garbage.

The Met Office Plans New Definition Of “Heat Wave” Or Something

And you have to know that this will reinforce their Belief in man caused Hotcoldwetdry

The Met Office is planning a new heatwave definition for the climate change era

The recent bout of hot weather was deemed to be a “hotspell” not a “heatwave”.

When is a hotspell a heatwave? It’s a question the UK’s Met Office say is still not settled.

Speaking in the latest session of the Environmental Audit Committee’s Heatwaves inquiry, the Met Office’s Dr Peter Stott confirmed that there is no “universally agreed definition of a heatwave”.

The present definition used by the World Meteorological Organisation requires the average daily temperature to exceed the normal maximum temperature by five degrees celcius, for more than five consecutive days. It calculates the normal temperature using the period between 1961-1990.

But this isn’t much help when it comes to establishing how heat feels to the people experiencing it: sun-hardened Texans in air-conditioned homes may be less likely to notice a five degree rise in temperature than sweaty Brits smushed together on the London tube.

You can see where this is going, right?

According to press officer Grahame Madge, the new system aims “to help with the broader messaging and communication around spells of hot weather across the whole of the UK”. And Dr Stott told the committee that he hopes it will be ready in time for the summer.

It’s all about feelings, and what they’re telling you you should feel about the coming Doom, as it relates to a tiny increase in global temperatures, as they predict doomy reps sooooooon.

Big News: Kim Jong Un Crosses Into South Korea For Meeting With South Korean President

One has to wonder how hard liberals are praying that this whole thing fails in order to make President Donald Trump look bad

(Breitbart/AP) With a single step over a weathered, cracked slab of concrete, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made history Friday by crossing over the world’s most heavily armed border to greet his rival, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, for talks on North Korea’s nuclear weapons. Kim then invited Moon to cross briefly north with him before they returned to the southern side.

Those small steps must be seen in the context of the last year — when the United States, its ally South Korea and the North seemed at times to be on the verge of nuclear war as the North unleashed a torrent of weapons tests — but also in light of the long, destructive history of the rival Koreas, who fought one of the 20th century’s bloodiest conflicts and even today occupy a divided peninsula that’s still technically in a state of war.

It was all smiles Friday as Moon grasped Kim’s hand and led him along an blindingly red carpet into South Korean territory, where school children placed flowers around their necks and an honor guard stood at attention for inspection.

Beyond the surface, however, it’s still not clear whether the leaders can make any progress in closed-door talks on the nuclear issue, which has bedeviled U.S. and South Korean officials for decades. North Korea’s nuclear and missile tests last year likely put it on the threshold of becoming a legitimate nuclear power. North Korea claims it has already risen to that level.

Kim’s news agency said that the leader would “open-heartedly” discuss with Moon “all the issues arising in improving inter-Korean relations and achieving peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean peninsula” in a “historic” summit. It’s the first time one of the ruling Kim leaders has crossed over to the southern side of the Demilitarized Zone since the Korean War ended in 1953.

Is Kim serious or playing a game?

Expectations are generally low, given that past so-called breakthroughs on North Korea’s weapons have collapsed amid acrimonious charges of cheating and bad faith. Skeptics of engagement have long said that the North often turns to interminable rounds of diplomacy meant to ease the pain of sanctions — giving it time to perfect its weapons and win aid for unfulfilled nuclear promises.

Advocates of engagement say the only way to get a deal is to do what the Koreas will try Friday: Sit down and see what’s possible.

And sit down they shall. Then comes the summit with the two Korean leaders and Donald Trump. What comes out of it? We can only guess. But, remember, so many thought Trump’s bluster was a bad thing

https://twitter.com/HKMarkSimon/status/989695364730011648

Perhaps the bluster and insults and staying strong made an impact. One thing you can bet on, there won’t be a deal signed that will keep North Korea’s nuclear weapons program in check for a period of time, after which they have carte blanche to go for it, ala the Iran deal.

ACLU Launches Star Studded Campaign To Protect Illegal Alien “Rights”

Does the ACLU understand these people are not Americans? Do they even care? And do they, and the Houston Chronicle, understand the difference between legal immigrants and illegal aliens? And, do they even care?

ACLU launches immigrant rights campaign as arrests are up

The American Civil Liberties Union launched a six-figure, celebrity-studded campaign Thursday to ensure immigrants know their rights in interactions with federal agents, including spots on Spanish radio and targeted, multilingual ads on Facebook and YouTube.

It includes videos voiced by Diane Guerrero from the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black and Kumail Nanjiani from HBO’s Emmy Award-nominated series Silicon Valley. The ads feature the phone number to volunteer-led rapid response networks to flag immigration raids and help immigrants get legal representation.

Under President Donald Trump’s administration, immigration agents have doubled down on arrests, often targeting immigrants who previously were not priorities for deportation, such as those married to American citizens and people who have been here illegally for decades without committing other crimes.

“We want to be a click or listen away for someone to know their rights and be empowered against Trump’s deportation force,” said Natalie Montelongo, ACLU campaign strategist, in a statement.

Funny they didn’t do this while people were being deported under Obama. In fact, under Obama, fewer were being caught in the interior but more were being deported.

The ACLU has a bunch of videos attempting to tell illegal aliens to not open the door for any ICE agent unless they have a warrant signed by a judge. And to lawyer up from the charge of ….. being unlawfully present in the U.S. This should make all those illegal alien gang members, like in MS-13, feel super safe.

Interestingly, the ACLU will be doing something they complained about others doing

The Spanish and English ads will be featured on Radio Campesina, part of the Cesar Chavez Foundation and a trusted news source amongst farm workers and the undocumented community, and online through Facebook, Pandora, and YouTube. The digital ads will run in Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. The ACLU’s sophisticated targeting will ensure that the ads reach impacted communities in their native language, by using tactics such as identifying people browsing Facebook with the language set to Spanish in key areas.

So, they’re going to mine Facebook for private data? Huh.

The series was created with input from immigrant communities and legal experts and is voiced by an all-star cast of influencers and activists, including Jesse Williams (English), Diane Guerrero (Spanish), Kumail Nanjiani (Urdu), Linda Sarsour (Arabic), Edwidge Danticat (Haitian Creole), Katya Lee (Russian), and Xiren Wang (Mandarin).

Nice to know they’re working with an affirmed Islamic supremacist and Jew hater in Linda Sarsour.

Warmists Want To Start The ‘Climate Change’ (scam) Indoctrination Start Early

Now, there’s nothing wrong with being eco-friendly. But, that’s not what they want. They want indoctrination into the Cult of Climastrology

New Eco-Friendly Preschool Hosts Open House

Sugarland Learning Academy’s newest location in Leesburg will hold an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The preschool has what it calls a “lean to green” academic program that exposes students to lessons on how to take care of the earth. “Our building comes with unique features such as geo-thermal flooring and solar panels. Our students are given the opportunity to experience the solar panels and the distribution of energy through advanced technology,” stated owner Hasina Siddiq.

Students are taught about alternative energy sources; how harmful emissions can contribute to global warming; and the benefits of gardening, composting and recycling.

Isn’t this a little much for 4 and 5 year olds? Can’t they just be kids?

Newest Insanity: Gender Neutral “Theybies”

I’m more than willing to set aside my limited government beliefs in this case to implement controls to keep these types of people from breeding. Ever

Don’t call me baby: the birth of the gender-neutral ‘theyby’
Theybe is the hip new thing for parents who want to bring up their offspring in gender-neutral fashion. Bring on the theycare

Babies are so passe, even royal ones. The hip new thing to have is a “theyby”, according to a trend spotted by New York magazine that sees parents bringing up their offspring in a gender-neutral fashion.

There was of course nothing gender-specific about the “ba-“ part of “baby”, which is already a diminutive form of the original English word “babe”. The Oxford English Dictionary says that its origin is probably onomatopoeic – two syllables of “ba”, which is a typical “early infantile vocalisation”. So while a baby can call itself a baba, even if by accident, it will take much longer to pronounce itself a “theyby”.

So “theyby” here points to the desired attitude of others, rather than removing any bias from the traditional description of the object in question. (It is often unimportant whether such bias really existed anyway: replacing “mankind” with “humankind” hurts no one.)

Meanwhile, the possibilities for today’s theybies seem endless. If they need looking after they can go to theycare. In time they will even eat gender-neutral smoked-pork slices (theycon) on a Saturday morning while reading a language column in a theyper.

Just to be clear, I’m not making fun of writer Steven Poole at the UK Guardian, who’s dropping this as his word of the week. Because Steven seems to be making fun of these nutballs … or, should that be wankers, since this is a UK site?… as well. It’s no wonder kids are so fragile these days, so neurotic, with insane parents like this.

Bummer: ‘Climate Change’ Could Maybe Might Possibly Ruin The Taste Of Craft Beer

Everybody panic?

Could climate change be ruining the taste of your favorite craft beer?

Craft beer is a $1 billion industry in Arizona, but a warmer environment has many in the industry worried about its future.

The business owners who run craft beer businesses were concerned about future water shortages and even the flavor of a key beer ingredient: Hops.

Tempe City Councilwoman Lauren Kuby said that by supporting local craft beer brewers, the public is helping both business and the environment.

“The best way you can defend beer and in some ways fight climate change, is by supporting local breweries who are really into the sustainability movement trying to save water, save energy,” Kuby said.

Professor Paul Hirt, an environmental history teacher at Arizona State University and a Salt River Project board member, said climate change affects the taste of beer through hops.

“Hotter summers are creating more of the bitter profile that brewers are not looking for,” Hirt said.

Unsurprisingly, Hirt is a critic of Trump’s Hotcoldwetdry policy (and probably everything else Trump). I wonder how much in the way of fossil fuels are used to ship said craft beers, and to operate the machinery which does things like pick the hops.

Regardless, these people are like flat earthers, always expecting the Earth to stay exactly the same at all times.
