Trump Pentagon Boots NBC, NYT, NPR, Politico to Make Room for NYP, Breitbart News, OANN, HuffPost
The Trump Pentagon under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a massive overhaul of its practice allowing journalists to work from inside the building is beginning a program to remove four establishment media news outlets from their workspaces for one year to replace them with new media outlets, including Breitbart News.
Acting Pentagon Press Secretary John Ullyot issued a memo on Friday to the Pentagon Press Association announcing that the NBC News, the New York Times, National Public Radio, and Politico must give up their physical workspaces in the Pentagon for one year to the New York Post, Breitbart News, and the Huffington Post.
“Each year, one outlet from each press medium — print, online, television and radio — that has enjoyed working from a physical office in the Pentagon will rotate out of the building to allow a new outlet from the same medium that has not had the unique opportunity to report as a resident member of the Pentagon Press Corps,” the memo said.
The Pentagon is giving those outlets two weeks to vacate their offices, effective Friday, February 15, 2025.
It is funny the ones that were picked to boot, isn’t it? The NY Times is supposed to be THE biggest, most important newspaper in the country, yet, they were booted. Will they be back at some point during Trump’s term? I doubt it. Will any of the others make it back? And to be replaced with 3 typically reliable conservative outlets? Excellent. Was the Huffington Post (a pretty darned hard uber-leftist outlet) put in just to say “no, we’re totally fair on doing this”? This is going to be a fun 4 years, and it might be that reporters start asking better questions, ones that solicit actual information the American People need to know, rather than attempting to be activism and insanity.
The White House is also opening up seats for other outlets, though, not booting
(Resist The Mainstream) The packed press room reflected the administration’s new approach, as Leavitt emphasized the commitment to broadening media access.
“This White House believes strongly in the First Amendment. It’s why our team will work diligently to restore the press passes of the 440 journalists whose passes were wrongly revoked by the previous administration,” she stated.
Leavitt also underscored the declining trust in legacy media and reaffirmed that the Trump administration welcomes independent journalists, podcasters and content creators to cover the White House.
Among the first outlets granted access to these seats were Breitbart and Axios, with representatives from The Post Millennial, The Daily Wire and other emerging news platforms also in attendance.
Excellent stuff. And, unlike during the Biden-Harris admin, Leavitt and others will actually answer questions rather than bloviating and circling back and rarely answering anything.

Humans have done a lot to help rats become one of the most prolific mammals on the planet. We leave out food waste and trash. Our buildings and sewers provide cozy homes. We inadvertently help them cross oceans on ships. Now, burning fossil fuels and heating up the climate can be added to that list.
