UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT MOMS HOLD MOTHER’S DAY RALLY DEMANDING U.S. STOP TEARING FAMILIES APART

On the eve of Mother’s Day, a group of undocumented immigrant moms gathered in MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, California, to protest against the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policies.

The rally, organized by immigration advocacy group Cosecha, called on the administration to provide permanent protection to undocumented immigrants in the U.S. and to stop tearing mothers away from their children.

“As families celebrate their mothers this Sunday, millions of immigrant mothers live with uncertainty and fear of being separated from their children,” Cosecha said in a statement shared on Facebook.

“Millions of mothers have made the hard choice to leave their homelands to give their children a better chance in life and have worked hard to build a community to safely settle their families,” the immigrant rights group added.

Led by undocumented mothers, dozens of people marched through the street of Los Angeles after the group shared stories and sang songs of protest in MacArthur Park.

“Listen my people, my condors, my eagles, no human being could ever be illegal,” singers chanted.

I’m not sure how many times I and others must write this, but these moms put themselves and their kids in this position. It’s great that they want their kids to have a better life, but they did it wrong. If they want their kids to have a better life by robbing a bank, would that be OK? What if they were selling drugs to make a lot of cash? Well, crossing the border into America illegally is also very wrong, and if they are fearful, that’s is squarely on them. America has no responsibility to these illegal aliens, nor towards their children. The illegals should have thought about the consequences prior to crossing the border illegally or overstaying their visas.

And they’re welcome to take their kids with them if deported.

The U.S. Department of Justice recently announced that it would separate parents and children at the border if parents are caught “smuggling a child” into the country, representing a departure from a long-held immigration policy allowing families to stay together while their cases are processed.

“If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you and that child will be separated from you as required by law,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said earlier this month during an address at the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies’ 2018 spring conference. “If you don’t like that, then don’t smuggle children over our border,” he added.

Pretty simple concept. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.

If the illegals were smart, they’d switch tactics from telling Americans how mean we are and running these protests and such, and instead turn to asking us nicely and showing that they have assimilated. Perhaps then they’d get more sympathy. Since they’re making demands while being unlawfully present in our nation, well, bye Felicia.

Tales From California Part 2: People Hold Large Cookout In Solidarity In Park Where Raaaaacism Occurred Or Something

Remember a few days when we learned that an Evil White Woman called the cops on a black family which was simply just having a barbecue in a park, which was totally racist!!!!! of the Evil White Woman? Of course, there was this little issue with the black family cooking out in an area not designated for cooking, and we can’t forget how enviroweenie California has become (though, there are actual reasons for cooking in parks only in designated areas). And now

Large Cookout Held In Park Where White Woman Called Cops On Black Family Barbecue

A large cookout was thrown in Lake Merritt Park in Oakland, California, just two weeks after a white woman called the police on a black family while they were having a barbecue.

The incident was recorded on video by Michelle Snider, who captured the unknown white woman standing in the designated BBQ zone in the park telling a group of black people she called the Oakland police because “it is illegal to have a charcoal grill in the park here.”

“She said that we were trespassing, we were not welcome, and then she turned back around and said, ‘y’all going to jail,'” said Snider’s husband, Kenzie Smith, told KRON-TV.

In California, especially places like Oakland, it’s not that far of a stretch to think one could go to jail for this. And, beyond the enviroweenism, in places like Oakland Leftists love them some Big Government authoritarianism.

In response to the viral video, a cookout was thrown on Thursday, May 10, at the very same spot the woman called the police on Snider and her friends.

The very spot they were cooking out illegally. The article is kinda vague on the Citizens Of Color failing to follow the law.

“This how we feel about mad ass Oakland gentrifiers,” Michael Swanson Jr. said, capturing the cookout and people dancing the electric slide during the cookout. The video has been viewed over 320,000 times and has been shared over 7,000 times on Facebook.

Nice bit of racism, for which Newsweek forgets to call them out on.

Oakland Mayoral candidate Cat Brooks warned that calling police could raise tensions and make the problem of the matter worse.

“When you engage law enforcement in these kinds of things you are opening the door for things to go very wrong, the potential for arrests like in Philadelphia with those two black men or worse physical assault or death and I don’t believe in this day and age that white folks don’t know that,” he told KRON-TV.

In other words, if you see someone engaged in breaking the law, don’t call the police, because it’s really not their lawlessness that’s the problem, it’s your unconscious raaaaacism. And this is why race relations have gotten much worse since the start of the Age Of Obama.

Winning: North Korea Invites Media To Event Shutting Down Their Nuclear Test Site

Here’s one that isn’t really making the news much, because it would make Donald Trump look good, and the totally non-partisan, utterly un-biased media can’t have people knowing things like this

(Breitbart) North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday that the communist regime would hold a ceremony on a date between May 23 and 25 to permanently shut down the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site, and journalists from five countries, including the United States, were invited to attend.

The announcement appeared on the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) website, and appeared to be a gesture of goodwill towards the international community, which has pressured North Korea for years to dismantle its illegal nuclear weapons program. The ceremony will occur less than a month before a planned in-person meeting between dictator Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump, scheduled for June 12.

The press release from the Foreign Ministry did not specifically name the Punggye-ri site, describing it only as the “northern nuclear test ground of the DPRK [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea].” There is no evidence, however, that North Korea possesses any other nuclear test sites, active or otherwise.

“A ceremony for dismantling the nuclear test ground is now scheduled between May 23 and 25, depending on weather condition,” KCNA announced. “Dismantlement of the nuclear test ground will be done in the following sequence: making all tunnels of the test ground collapse by explosion; completely blocking entries; removing all observation facilities, research institutes and structures of guard units on the ground.”

The North Korean Foreign Ministry affirms that, following the ceremony, the site will be “completely closed.” It adds that international journalists will be welcomed into the country “to conduct on-the-spot coverage in order to show in a transparent manner the dismantlement of the northern nuclear test ground.” Journalists applying to cover the event will be limited to citizens of China, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, due to the remote and diminutive nature of the site.

One has to wonder how many U.S. journalists will go to North Korea to witness this, and report back on it honestly. How many will give him credit for what’s going on with North Korea. And, yes, they should give some credit to the presidents of South Korea and Japan. But, you just cannot dismiss Trump’s policies for helping make this all happen.

Now, could it be a trick? Of course. This is North Korea. And we can’t forget that Kim is still are despicable, brutal, violent dictator running a regime that acts in the same way. Perhaps this could be a step forward in reforming the system. Regardless, a denuclearized North Korea is a great thing.

But, the press is already trying to poo poo the dismantlement thing, as we see in one of the few articles on the subject

Dismantling North Korea nukes could be costly and take years to complete

If President Trump is successful in convincing Kim Jong Un to dismantle North Korea’s nuclear weapons program the effort would be unprecedented in its size and complexity, analysts say.

“This would be the biggest undertaking by the international community when it comes to denuclearization or disarmament,” said Olli Heinonen, an arms control expert at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a national security think-tank.

If Trump and Kim reach an agreement, the process could take years and cost hundreds of millions of dollars, Heinonen said.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into this, but, it sure seems like the USA Today is trying to put a negative spin on this, does it not? You have to know that the article would be completely different, vastly more positive if this was happening under Obama, or a President Hillary Clinton. Speaking of Obama

John Bolton, Trump’s national security adviser, said that the dismantling of Libya’s nuclear program in 2003 might serve as a model.

“One thing that Libya did that led us to overcome our skepticism was that they allowed American and British observers into all their nuclear related sites,” Bolton told CBS News recently. “It wasn’t a question of relying on international mechanisms. We saw them in ways we had never seen before.” (snip)

Several years later Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi was removed from power by rebels backed by NATO air support. Ironically, Gadhafi’s fate is one of the reasons Kim has clung so steadfastly to his nuclear weapons.

Kim sees the survival of his regime as linked to the country’s nuclear program.

Hmph. They forgot to mention who screwed up Libya, and caused NK to cling so steadfastly.

Regardless, give Trump credit where credit is due.

Barack Obama was quoting one of America’s governors, Jay Inslee, when he said this at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015.

This quote is also one of the first things you’ll read when you visit Wicklow’s Cool Planet.

This interactive visitor centre is thought to be the first of its kind in the world, taking children and adults on a journey of what the world will look like in 2050 if we keep up the lifestyle habits that are damaging the planet.

In other words, this is like looking in a crystal ball with Madam Zelda. And her prognostications are probably closer to reality, because most Warmist prognostications have failed so far. Still ice in the Arctic, and Manhattan is not under water.

Anyhow, one has to wonder how much in the way of fossil fuels, concrete, and other Evil things for ‘climate change’ were used to make this indoctrination center. And how much in the way of fossil fuels will be used to visit it.

Tales From California: White Woman Calls Cops On Black Family Grilling Out

Family wants to create awareness after BBQ confrontation at Lake Merritt

A family’s weekend barbecue outing at a popular East Bay spot had the potential of turning seriously ugly.

Police were called in because of a dispute about where people can set up their charcoal grills.

“This is exactly what is the problem with Oakland today. This lady wants to sit here and call the police on them for having a barbeque at the lake as if this is not normal,” said Michelle Snider.

Snider used her cellphone to record the woman you see on the video who called Oakland police because she said “it is illegal to have a charcoal grill in the park here.”

Of course, the people grilling out were black, and the woman on the phone was white, so, the Usual Suspects had fits. Like Fake Black Sean King

Of course, this is California, where they have lots and lots and lots of rules about everything, especially when it comes to Evil Barbecues releasing Evil carbon pollution, and….

According to an official Oakland Park and Rec map of Lake Merritt, there are six designated barbecue locations, three stationary charcoal locations, and three non-charcoal portable grill locations.

Smith and Snider were charcoal grilling in a non-charcoal grilling location.

Oops. So, raaaaacism denied. But, refer back to the headline

Smith was allowed to continue his weekend family barbecue by the lake like he says since he was a child.

“Honestly I want some kind of awareness. We need to be able to talk about this in an open forum,” said Smith.

And if that happens, it could be the beginning of building a better community.

How about this: follow the rules and grill out in designated locations. That’s the only “awareness” needed. The only thing we need to talk about.

NY Times: Trump’s Fuel Efficiency Rollback Will Hurt Drivers Or Something

Trump’s Fuel Efficiency Rollbacks Will Hurt Drivers

President Trump met with auto industry executives at the White House on Friday, arguing for his planned rollback of fuel efficiency and emissions standards, and telling them he wanted them to build “millions more cars” in the United States.

Let’s assume they would. If they did, any cars they made would also be dirtier and more expensive for consumers to drive without the fuel efficiency and emissions rules that the president wants to discard.

How much more expensive? A draft proposal by the Trump administration that emerged in recent weeks would result in additional fuel costs of “$193 billion to $236 billion cumulatively between now and 2035” depending on oil prices, according to an analysis by the Rhodium Group, a research firm that examines the market impact of energy and climate policy.

And those higher gasoline costs are likely to hurt most the very families President Trump claims to care so much about — the ones living paycheck to paycheck.

The fuel efficiency and tailpipe emission standards targeted by Mr. Trump were designed by the Obama administration and require automakers to meet escalating efficiency standards: 41.7 miles per gallon by 2020, and 54.5 m.p.g. in 2025. (Those numbers represent laboratory measures; on the road, they are equivalent to about 32 and 42 m.p.g., respectively.)

Let’s consider 4 of the most popular 2018 sedans

  • Honda Civic 1.5 liter turbocharged: 35 combined MPG
  • Honda Accord 1.5 turbo: 33 MPG
  • Toyota Corolla: 1.8 liter 34 MPG
  • Toyota Camry 2.5 liter 32 MPG

None are even close, right? But, the standards are about overall car lines, so having hybrids and full electric vehicles kick up the overall number. However, it still means that manufacturers have had to do different things to make each vehicle more and more fuel efficient, which has made them more dangerous, and more costly. At what point do the CAFE standards go beyond helping the consumer and making them either less safe and/or spend way more money?

Here’s the thing: does anyone think automakers will suddenly say “Oh, standards are rolled back, so we’re going to make everything super gas guzzly”? Well, Warmists like Bledsoe apparently do. What is more likely to happen is automakers will keep their current standards, and perhaps attempt to improve on them, while potentially coming out with a few vehicles that aren’t so fuel efficient, because Trump rolled them back to pre-Obama, he didn’t get rid of them altogether.

And having more choice is good for consumers. Think people who drive big V8s do not understand that they pay a lot for gas? Why are Warmists/Progressives against choice? If I want to drive a V8 Challenger, Camero, or Mustang, that should be my choice, not Government’s.

President Trump is pushing to reduce fuel efficiency requirements just as global oil prices rise from $50 a barrel to over $70 — in part because the oil markets are nervous about the president’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.

These announced changes to the CAFE standards occurred well before withdrawal for the Iran deal. Leftists just making crap up now.

Given rising oil and gasoline prices, fuel efficiency would seem to be a worthy goal, both for consumers and the environment.

It is, but it should be up to the consumer and companies, not government.

NY Dems Latest Anti-gun Idea: Ban Shooting Sports From Schools

When will NY Democrats give up their armed security at their places of government business?

(Daily Caller) New York Democrat Linda Rosenthal introduced legislation to ban shooting sports from New York schools Friday, claiming the sports “spread gun culture.”

If the legislation is passed, high school shooting teams, including air rifle and even archery clubs, would be disbanded, Time magazine reported on Thursday. These programs can lead to violence, Rosenthal claimed, citing the Parkland shooter’s involvement in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program before executing his mass killing.

“Schools should not be supporting the spread of gun culture in society,” Rosenthal told reporters. “If parents want their children to have shooting instruction, there are opportunities that have nothing to do with the school.”

Interestingly, if parents object to their children receiving sexual instruction on things like oral, anal, and same gender sex, the schools will shame them. If parents object to the gender confused using the bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms of their children, the school will tell them to pound sand. Unsurprisingly, Rosenthal represents a part of Manhattan, so, she’s probably not familiar with the outdoors activities in a goodly chunk of the state of New York.

She should try taking a stroll through the district she represents, which encompasses the Upper West Side and Hell’s Kitchen, in the wee hours of the morning, and see the real “gun culture” in the Democratic Party run areas, versus how safe she’d be in the more suburban/rural areas.

Air riflery is currently the smallest varsity sport in New York state, with 28 teams statewide and 266 participants last year. It has also emerged as a very female-dominated sport, with girls winning 19 of the last 31 state individual air rifle championships.

This small sport led to Jillian Zakrzeski gaining a spot in the Junior Olympics. Rosenthal wants to take these chances away from women. And, yes, it does go after archery clubs, because there’s lots of gun crime being committed with bows and arrows.

Meanwhile

The National Rifle Association filed a lawsuit Friday against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state’s financial regulatory bureau for what it labeled a “blacklisting campaign” aimed at the gun advocacy group.

According to NRA attorney William A. Brewer III, Cuomo and the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) attempted to impede the association’s right to “speak freely about gun-related issues and defend the Second Amendment.”

People like Cuomo may not like Other People having firearms for protection, but, we still have a Constitution, and so does the state of NY.
