It’s Time For A ‘Climate Change’ Lent Or Something

Yet another day in which the Cult of Climastrology attempts to hijack something, in this case a religious holiday, interjecting their cultish beliefs on other people

It’s time for a Green Lent

Imagine a second global flood, occurring tomorrow. A modern Noah, having spent weeks aimlessly drifting across the world’s oceans, releases a dove in search of land.

To his surprise, the animal returns within two minutes and has found something. It is carrying a slightly faded, but otherwise completely intact, soaking wet Tesco shopping bag. On its side, Noah reads: “Use me again!”

You’ll know where this is going: the planet is drowning and humanity is to blame. We all got the message. Or did we? Many churchgoers have yet to engage with the topic of climate change on a level that goes beyond abandoning single-use plastics and separating trash.

Some believed that Pope Francis’s remarkably green encyclical Laudato Si’ would mark the beginning of an increased Catholic engagement with ecological questions, both at the institutional and at the grassroots level.

The same people pushing this also think murdering the unborn is super cool.

It is time for some major changes. Christians have thought about life on a damaged planet for centuries. We are therefore well-equipped to start reading the Bible in an ecological context.

When we start to do so, old texts take on new meanings. Returning to Genesis 1, we might ask: what does it really mean to “fill the Earth and subdue it”, and to “have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the Earth”?

Can we come to practise good stewardship in a world teetering on the edge? Other passages, too, can be read through a green lens. For instance, what is the meaning of “love thy neighbour” when applied to non-human beings?

Good stewardship has nothing to do with warming that is mostly caused by nature, as it has always been.

We stand at the threshold of Lent, a time for reflection and spiritual reorientation. Perhaps this year we should look down, rather than up, and think about the state of our God-given home. Whether we want it or not, our feet are getting wet. What are we going to do about it?

38% Of Millennials Worried About Having Kids In The Era Of Hotcoldwetdry

People have always had kids during times of climate change, because the climate has always been doing something. Throughout the Holocene there have been warm and cool periods, and still humanity persisted in having children. But, now, you have youths of breeding age having a collective freakout over (well, everything) a tiny increase in the global temperature, thanks to being taught this in school

More than a third of millennials share Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s worry about having kids while the threat of climate change looms

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made headlines last week when she suggested that some young Americans are concerned about having children because of the threat that climate change could pose to future generations.

“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around … there’s scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said on Instagram Live. “And even if you don’t have kids, there are still children here in the world, and we have a moral obligation to leave a better world for them.”

The 29-year-old New York progressive went on to say young people are grappling with the question: “Is it OK to still have children?”

The comment garnered significant media attention and blowback from pundits, who said the remark amounted to Ocasio-Cortez advocating for a ban on children.

I agree with AOC that Believers in man-caused global warming/climate change should stop having kids. That way, most of this fuzzyheaded, un-scientific idiocy will go away as they won’t be teaching children about this stupidity.

An INSIDER poll conducted on SurveyMonkey Audience found that nearly 30% of Americans either strongly agree, agree, or somewhat agree that a couple should consider the negative and potentially life-threatening effects of climate change when deciding whether or not to have children. Just more than 8% of Americans strongly agreed that climate change should be a consideration.

Just more than 40% of Americans said they either somewhat disagree, disagree, or strongly disagree that climate change should play a role in the decision to have children. About 18% of Americans strongly disagreed that the future impacts of climate change should be considered by would-be parents.

Nearly 38% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 agreed that climate change should be a factor in a couple’s decision about whether to have children. And 34% of Americans between the ages of 30 and 44 agreed.

Agreement was also linked to the belief that climate change is man-made: 38% of respondents who said “the earth is getting warmer mostly because of human activity such as burning fossil fuels” said couples should factor in the effect of that warming on their children before having them. Meanwhile, 33% disagreed, and another third were neutral or didn’t know.

Older Americans were not so keen on this idea, with the percentages going down. Thankfully, it’s just 38% of Millennials who are climate change idiots.

NY Times: There’s No National Emergency At Border, It’s Just At A “Breaking Point”

The NY Times, like most in the Credentialed Media, has a had a freakout over Trump declaring a national emergency at the border that continues on and on, in which they state there is no national emergency. Like in this piece by the Editorial Board (featuring confirmed racist Sarah Jeong), in which they attempt to say “Hey, it’s not just Trump, but the whole law”, despite having zero problems during Obama’s reign, when he invoked 12 of them, 10 still in effect

Fix America’s National Emergencies Law. And Not Just Because of Trump.

Last month, after losing a funding battle with Congress over his desire for a border wall, President Trump made his declaration, insisting that a “national security crisis on our southern border” precipitated his action. The Senate has mustered enough support to pass a joint resolution, introduced and approved in the House last month, calling for the immediate termination of a national emergency that represented an unprecedented end run around Congress’s power of the purse. (big snip)

For one thing, the National Emergencies Act doesn’t define what an emergency is — a loophole that Mr. Trump took advantage of by declaring that there’s a crisis at the border, contrary to all evidence. Congress could set clearer parameters, allowing a president to declare emergencies only when threats to the national interest are imminent and based on observable facts.

Also the NY Times on the front page, where, quite frankly, you really do not need to go further than the headline

Border at ‘Breaking Point’ as More than 76,000 Migrants Cross in a Month

The number of migrant families crossing the southwest border has once again broken records, with unauthorized entries nearly doubling what they were a year ago, suggesting that the Trump administration’s aggressive policies have not discouraged new migration to the United States.

More than 76,000 migrants crossed the border without authorization in February, an 11-year high and a strong sign that stepped-up prosecutions, new controls on asylum and harsher detention policies have not reversed what remains a powerful lure for thousands of families fleeing violence and poverty.

“The system is well beyond capacity, and remains at the breaking point,” Kevin K. McAleenan, commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, told reporters in announcing the new data on Tuesday.

The nation’s top border enforcement officer painted a picture of processing centers filled to capacity, border agents struggling to meet medical needs and thousands of exhausted members of migrant families crammed into a detention system that was not built to house them — all while newcomers continue to arrive, sometimes by the busload, at the rate of 2,200 a day.

“This is clearly both a border security and a humanitarian crisis,” Mr. McAleenan said.

So…….there is actually an emergency at the border? It’s not helpful that Democrats keep inviting people to just come and show up at the border to claim asylum, as well as doing all they can to protect those who crossed the border illegally/overstayed their visas. Liberal forces are actively working to create these caravans in an attempt to overload the immigration system.

But, hey, of course they have to try and downplay the wall

President Trump has used the escalating numbers to justify his plan to build an expanded wall along the 1,900-mile border with Mexico. But a wall would do little to slow migration, most immigration analysts say. While the exact numbers are not known, many of those apprehended along the southern border, including the thousands who present themselves at legal ports of entry, surrender voluntarily to Border Patrol agents and eventually submit legal asylum claims.

Except, it’s mentioned above that they are mostly crossing in an “unauthorized” fashion, which means sneaking across the border. We know they are doing this because many areas of the border have the type of “security” Democrats want all over, things like cameras and drones, where we get to watch them cross and be in no position to stop them all.

Understanding what is happening on the border is difficult because, while the numbers are currently higher than they have been in several years, they are nowhere near the historic levels of migration seen across the southwest border. Arrests for illegally crossing the border reached up to 1.64 million in 2000, under President Clinton. In the 2018 fiscal year, they reached 396,579. For the first five months of the current fiscal year, 268,044 have been apprehended.

The difference is that the nature of immigration has changed, and the demographics of those arriving now are proving more taxing for border officials to accommodate. Most of those entering the country in earlier years were single men, most of them from Mexico, coming to look for work. If they were arrested, they could quickly be deported.

Overall, sounds like it’s becoming a crisis at the border, dare I say, a national emergency.

Rich Investors Who Don’t Eat Fast Food Want Action On ‘Climate Change’ From Big Fast Food

First, does anyone think that these investors do not have massive, gigantic carbon footprints themselves? Also, do you think they are pushing this because they Believe, or because they see a chance to make more money?

Investors Hungry for Action on Climate Change

A multi-trillion dollar investor coalition is demanding that the world’s largest fast-food brands, including McDonald’s, Domino’s Pizza, and KFC, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water use in their supply chains.

The group – containing more than 80 investors worth over US$6.5 trillion (A$9 trillion) – said animal agriculture was one of the world’s highest-emitting sectors without a low-carbon plan.

In a letter sent by sustainability organisation Ceres and the FAIRR Initiative to six major fast-food brands, the companies have been asked to explain how they plan on enacting meaningful policies and targets to reduce the environmental impact of their meat and dairy suppliers.

The brands targeted are Domino’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Yum! Brands (owners of KFC and Pizza Hut), Restaurant Brands International (owners of Burger King), Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Wendy’s Co. Together they manage over 120,000 restaurants worldwide. (snip)

To highlight this, he noted that if cows were a country, they would be the world’s third largest emitter of greenhouse gases.

“A failure to tackle these major environmental problems in corporate supply chains puts the long-term financial sustainability of these household names under threat,” Coller said.

“Investors are calling for more strategic and innovative thinking to manage these risks.”

When these people stop eating $110 a pound Kobe beef for snacks and give up their own use of fossil fuels, move out of their giant mansions and into tiny homes, I’ll consider listening.

“Artist” Writes SOS In Snow To Save World From Trump And ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

Now, the 1st Amendment does give people the ability to speak out as well as protest without fear of reprisal from government, but, iff you have to explain your political message “art”, you failed. Also, she may have been trespassing

Artist writes giant ‘SOS’ in the snow near Trump’s golf course

The artist that has become known for carving political messages in a field near Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster has made a new piece, specifically for a snowy day.

The message “SOS” is stamped out on the same farmland as the artist’s previous designs, which included the word “RESIST” in 2017 and the words “VOTE and TRUTH” this past fall.

“I laid out the design in October with pole posts and bailing string and waited for it to snow,” the artist said.

It took her about three hours to stomp out the design by foot. Each letter measures 96 by 90 feet, and the complete design can only be viewed from the air — which made it difficult to create when only viewing it from the ground, the artist said.

The “SOS” design has two meanings, according to the artist. The first “save our stateship” a reference to President Trump’s position in office. The second “save our spaceship” a reference for the need to take climate change seriously.

The artist explained that the two messages are interconnected as she feels Trump doesn’t take the issue of climate change seriously.

I guess all of us who write out name in the snow are now considered to be artists. I wonder how she traveled back and forth to the site? Fossil fueled vehicle would be my guess.

NY Times Blames Border Patrol For Illegals Showing Up With All Sorts Of Medical Problems

This is the primary focus story of the NY Times this morning, which looks like this

Let’s not forget, those children showed up sick after trekking thousands of miles with poor food, water, and sanitation. They were taken to the hospital when they were found to be sick. The doctors did all they could. But, the Times is casting blame at the Border Patrol.

Open Wounds, Head Injuries, Fever: Ailing Migrants Suffer at the Border

It was nearly 9 p.m., hours after the makeshift clinic for newly arrived migrants near the Mexican border in Texas was supposed to close, but the patients would not stop coming: A feverish teenager with a vile-smelling wound on his foot. A man with a head injury and bright red eyes. Children with fevers, coughs and colds.

Earlier in the day, a little girl named Nancy had been brought into the clinic with a cough and shaking chills. She had been vomiting, she said, and her spine hurt. An assistant took her temperature. “She’s got 104, almost 105,” she said.

The steady flow of migrants who arrived that night at the volunteer respite center operated by Catholic Charities here in the Rio Grande Valley had just been released by Customs and Border Protection after being apprehended near the border. The new arrivals had been in federal custody for up to 72 hours, but most had received no real medical attention — the volunteer physicians at the private clinic were the first doctors many had seen since crossing the border. (snip)

An average of 2,200 migrants a day are now crossing the nation’s 1,900-mile border with Mexico, many after grueling journeys that leave them injured, sick or badly dehydrated. Yet most of the nation’s Customs and Border Protection facilities along the border lack sufficient accommodations, staffing or procedures to thoroughly assess health needs or provide more than basic emergency care, a situation that has led to dangerous medical oversights. (snip)

A New York Times review of records and dozens of interviews with migrants, agents, researchers and health workers suggest that some of these deaths were not anomalies, but rather signs of entrenched problems that have repeatedly put detainees with medical conditions at risk.

In NY Times World, it is the fault of the Border Patrol that people are trekking thousands of miles, again, with poor food, little water, poor sanitation, and no medical care, typically showing up with medical issues. Apparently, the Border Patrol is supposed to take care of every one of these thousands of migrants which show up daily within seconds.

Perhaps if they weren’t showing up in massive numbers, with Democrats and all their groups enticing them to do, CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) wouldn’t have a tough time. Perhaps if they weren’t just showing up at the border, either legally and demanding entry or illegally by crossing the border, it wouldn’t be a problem. CPB is telling these people not to come in the first place.

Migrants crossing the border from Mexico may be injured scaling barriers, in vehicle accidents, by gunfire or from nearly drowning. They may be suffering from dehydration, heat exhaustion or communicable illnesses — from influenza to chickenpox — that often spread in conditions of close confinement, though none so far have presented what health officials regard as an unusual or alarming public health or infectious disease threat. Some require medications for chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure. Yet Border Patrol facilities until now have failed to provide comprehensive health screenings for those in their care. Medications — including lifesaving prescriptions for such conditions as asthma, heart disease and infant diarrhea — are routinely confiscated. Some migrants describe being left alone in concrete cells with broken bones and recent surgeries, their pain medication deeply inadequate.

Don’t come. You were told “don’t come.”

In the coming days, the agency is expected to announce significant changes related to the health of migrants, including policies requiring Border Patrol agents to conduct more thorough interviews of each migrant who is processed through the system, and to refer all those who need care to a medical provider.

The agency is also building a large new processing center in El Paso and adding $47 million to a private contract for migrant medical care.

The U.S. taxpayer is being forced to use money meant for U.S. citizens to deal with these illegals who show up with medical issues. How many citizens who are homeless could be fed and housed with this money? This long, long, long NYT article is all about putting the blame on CPB, rather than where it belongs: people showing up at the border with all these issues.

FEC Complaint Alleges AOC, Chief Of Staff Moved $885k In Campaign Funds Illegally

It gets a little tiresome doing so many posts featuring this twaddling twit, but she is the most visible face of the Democratic Party at the moment. This story is also an example of the utter media bias in the U.S. news

Ocasio-Cortez, chief of staff illegally moved $885K in campaign contributions ‘off the books,’ FEC complaint alleges

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Saikat Chakrabarti, the progressive firebrand’s multimillionaire chief of staff, apparently violated campaign finance law by funneling nearly $1 million in contributions from political action committees Chakrabarti established to private companies that he also controlled, according to an explosive complaint filed Monday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and obtained by Fox News.

Amid the allegations, a former FEC commissioner late Monday suggested in an interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation that Ocasio-Cortez and her team could separately be facing major fines and potentially even jail time if they were knowingly and willfully violating the law by hiding their control of the Justice Democrats political action committee (PAC). Such an arrangement could have allowed Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign to receive donations in excess of the normal limit, by pooling contributions to both the PAC and the campaign itself.

The FEC complaint asserts that Chakrabarti established two PACs, the Brand New Congress PAC and Justice Democrats PAC, and then systematically transfered more than $885,000 in contributions received by those PACs to the Brand New Campaign LLC and the Brand New Congress LLC — companies that, unlike PACs, are exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures. The PACs claimed the payments were for “strategic consulting.”

Although large financial transfers from PACs to LLCs are not necessarily improper, the complaint argues that the goal of the “extensive” scheme was seemingly to illegally dodge detailed legal reporting requirements of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, which are designed to track campaign expenditures.

This is not the first time AOC and Chakrabarti have been hit with allegations of impropriety regarding campaign finances: you had the issue with how her boyfriend was seemingly paid illegallyseemingly paid illegally.

“These are not minor or technical violations,” Tom Anderson, director of NLPC’s Government Integrity Project, said in a statement. “We are talking about real money here. In all my years of studying FEC reports, I’ve never seen a more ambitious operation to circumvent reporting requirements. Representative Ocasio-Cortez has been quite vocal in condemning so-called dark money, but her own campaign went to great lengths to avoid the sunlight of disclosure.”

Added Anderson: “They believe their cause is so great that they don’t have to play by the rules. They believe that they are above campaign finance law.”

There are possibilities of civil and criminal penalties for these actions, especially for Chakrabarti. But, would that actually happen? Politicians get away with things like this all the time with no more than a slap on the wrist, while normal citizens, such as Dinesh D’Souza, were forced to plead guilty. He was sentenced to five years probation, eight months in a “community confinement center,” weekly counseling sessions and given a $30,000 fine, all for an improper $20,000 campaign donation.

It’s a heck of a freshman class the Dems have. AOC doing all her crazy things, and now this. Ilhan Omar and her Jew and Israel hatred. Most of them refusing to condemn Nicholas Maduro of Venezuela.

As for media bias, see if you can find this allegation on the front page of most media outlets. Not on the front page of the NY Times, Washington Post, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, LA Times, nor CNN. These make up, with a few others, the biggest, most influential media outlets in the U.S. Yet, nothing. When they are finally forced to cover this, they’ll do it in a way to protect her, much like with the allegations involving her boyfriend. That’s not reporting, it’s advocacy.

Cult Of Climastrology Has A New Term: Birthstrikers

This is actually something that all Warmists should be encouraged to become involved in: it would mean fewer of these nutters raising the next generation of nutters

‘BIRTHSTRIKERS’ FEAR GLOBAL WARMING SO MUCH THEY ARE REFUSING TO HAVE KIDS

Climate activists calling themselves “Birthstrikers” are refusing to have children due to their fear of climate change, according to a Monday interview with Bloomberg News.

“Our planet is in a kind of collapse. The natural world is collapsing around us, and that’s actually happening right now,” climate activist Victoria Derbyshire told Bloomberg.

“And I’m so disappointed by the response by authorities to this crisis, and so freaked out by everything I’ve read that I’ve — I’ve basically last year I came to the decision that I couldn’t bring a child into that.” Derbyshire continued. “And I was asking around people I know, put it up a little bit on Facebook and realize actually quite a lot of other people are making this decision. Yeah, and so, we realized it was really — really important to tell the public that there are people out there are so scared about this that they feel that they can’t actually have a family.”

Don’t make fun of them, we want them all to do this.
