Governments must invest new effort and money to prevent climate change from driving new conflicts, according to a diplomatic statement drafted by the German foreign office.

The “Berlin Call to Action” was circulated among ministers from a dozen countries, former US secretary of state John Kerry and experts at a climate security conference on Tuesday.

It called for stronger international cooperation to help fragile regions cope with weather disasters, food shortages and migration driven by climate change.

“A destabilized Earth system implies unconscionable risks for peace and security,” said the statement. Increasingly severe impacts of climate change are “spurring social upheaval… and even contributing to new violent conflicts”.

See, there were never wars prior to the industrial revolution.

“We are living in a very dangerous moment, a deeply disturbing moment and a war on science. Fascism raises its ugly head in countries that we thought had learned the bitter lessons of war,” Kerry said, as quoted by organisers Adelphi on Twitter.

Apparently, if you aren’t a card carrying member of the Cult of Climastrology you’re a Fascist. But, what does it say of people who took long fossil fueled trips to Berlin to yammer about ‘climate change’ from fossil fuels?

The Berlin statement called for investment in risk analysis, early warning systems and the integration of climate resilience to peacekeeping operations.

Yeah, they want more money.

Company Wants Electric Pogo Sticks In San Francisco: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Electric pogo sticks could be coming soon to San Francisco

Forget electric scooters and electric bikes – people in San Francisco could soon be “jumping into the future” with electric pogo sticks!

That’s right – San Francisco could be the first city in the U.S. to get them, never mind the hills.

The e-pogo sticks are the brainchild of Swedish startup Cangoroo, which is “challenging e-scooter sharing companies with a new type of vehicle for urban environments.”

According to Cangoroo’s mission statement, its goal is to partner with cities, schools, and communities to offer “an alternative, joyful way of getting to wherever life takes you,” with the company saying it’s all about fitness, health and fun – not just commuting.

The app-based pogo stick service give its jumpers not only an alternative mode of transportation, but jumpers would also be able to track how many jumps they make in an effort to track fitness, too, according to the Malmö , Sweden-based company.

They do understand San Francisco is rather hilly, right? But, hey, as one person pointed out, they could put spikes on them to help pick up the trash. Another noted that you don’t use pogo sticks to get places fast. Then there will be all the drunks trying to rent them. And, oh yeah, this

Remember, San Fran has such a problem with feces all over the place that someone actually came up with a poop map. Jump, jump, jump, goink. Or, hey, it could be all the used drug needles littering the city.

Sheriff Joe Releases His Silly ‘Climate Change’ Plan

On one hand, it is not as nuts as the plans of other Democrats running for President. But, it’s like comparing a category 4 hurricane to a category 5 one: you’re probably not going to notice that the damage is slightly less with the category 4. It’s certainly not centrist. But, I will give him this: it is very long and detailed

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two basic truths, which are at the core of his plan: (1) the United States urgently needs to embrace greater ambition on an epic scale to meet the scope of this challenge, and (2) our environment and our economy are completely and totally connected.

Would this be the same GND that the Democrat controlled House refuses to vote on, and that Democrats in the Senate voted “present” on? That GND? I suppose that part is just meant to pander to the unhinged base.

The Biden Plan will:

Ensure the U.S. achieves a 100% clean energy economy and reaches net-zero emissions no later than 2050.

Good luck with that. Nice pipe dream

The Biden plan will make a historic investment in our clean energy future and environmental justice, paid for by rolling back the Trump tax incentives that enrich corporations at the expense of American jobs and the environment.

Why does every left wing pipe dream include the word “justice”? Anyhow, tax the rich, blah blah blah.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation – the fastest growing source of U.S. climate pollution – by preserving and implementing the existing Clean Air Act, and developing rigorous new fuel economy standards aimed at ensuring 100% of new sales for light- and medium-duty vehicles will be electrified and annual improvements for heavy duty vehicles.

So, things that do not already exist will be required to exist with a magic wand.

Requiring public companies to disclose climate risks and the greenhouse gas emissions in their operations and supply chains.

Those costs will be passed on to you.

Target airline emissions

Flight costs will go up up up

Improving the energy efficiency of our buildings

Cost of housing goes up

Mitigating the climate impact of urban sprawl. Housing policy can be used as a tool to battle climate change and expand the middle class. Many lower- and middle-income Americans are forced to live far away from job centers due to high housing costs, leading not only to workers being overburdened by long commutes, but also to higher emissions associated with increased traffic and extra-long commuting times. Altering local regulations to eliminate sprawl and allow for denser, more affordable housing near public transit would cut commute times for many of the country’s workers while decreasing their carbon footprint.

Forcing people into denser, city like structures. So, choice and freedom are things Joe doesn’t believe in.

Convene a climate world summit to directly engage the leaders of the major carbon-emitting nations of the world to persuade them to join the United States in making more ambitious national pledges, above and beyond the commitments they have already made.

Right, like we don’t already have a yearly meeting in exotic vacation spots.

Anyhow, it keeps going and going and going, and even delves into the canard of ‘climate change’ hurting “minorities” more than anyone else, climate justice, spend money, control everything from Washington. AOC panned Joe’s plan, though

Biden’s plan, released Wednesday morning, calls for fossil fuels to be eliminated by 2050, after spending $1.7 trillion in federal funds and $5 trillion in state, local, and private funds. The former vice president also called for building “small modular nuclear reactors at half the construction cost of today’s reactors” to help replace fossil fuel energy.

But 2050 is too late, Ocasio-Cortez said, according to The Hill. “Scientifically, anything that is less than helping us cut carbon emissions in half by 2030 is going to be too late,” she reportedly said.

“It’s a start, and I think that what that has shown is a dramatic shift in the right direction, but we need to keep pushing for a plan that is at the scale of the problem.”

She prefers Excitable Jay Inslee’s plan. And she still won’t demand a vote on her on Green New Deal.

The only bright spot in Joe’s plan is that he allows for nuclear power, which most of the others do not.

Democrat House Passes Amnesty Bill For Dreamers, Other Illegals

This will go nowhere in the Senate, but it shows the priorities of the Democratic Party, which is to take care of those who are unlawfully present in the United States instead of taking care of U.S. citizens

HOUSE PASSES MASS AMNESTY BILL WHICH WOULD GIVE MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS A PATH TO CITIZENSHIP

The House passed a vote Tuesday that would grant protection from deportation to illegal immigrants and give millions a path to permanent citizenship status.

The American Dream and Promise Act passed the House with a vote of 236-187. The legislation was brought forward by California Democratic Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard and will provide permanent status to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally as minors, as well as to those living in the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status, Newsweek reported.

This all comes as apprehensions of immigrants have increased every month since January. There have also been over 100,000 encounters at the southern border in both March and April, making it so the border crisis is on track to be the highest it has been in a decade.

The legislation would make it so 2.1 million immigrants “would be eligible under the measures for Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children.”

Unsurprisingly, there are zero measures included meant to control the border or other methods of illegals showing up. This seems to be their version of a “clean bill”, which many Democrats have been calling for.

The House Judiciary Committee criticized Democrats for pushing the bill forward, listing a number of reasons why amnesty should not be granted to illegal immigrants.

“H.R. 6 would provide green cards to criminals, including gang members and people who committed potentially serious crimes as juveniles, with multiple DUI convictions and with misdemeanor firearms-related convictions. Dems are prioritizing mass amnesty over public safety,” The House Judiciary Committee also said in a tweet.

Trump has already threatened to veto the legislation, however, it’s doubtful that Mitch McConnell brings it to the Senate floor. Unless he wants to highlight during debate how unserious the Democrats are when it comes to stopping people from illegally coming to this country.

Surprise: Green New Deal Author Breaks Pledge To Take No Fossil Fuels Money

Green New Deal Author Sen. Ed Markey Broke ‘No Fossil Fuel Money’ Pledge

Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), one of the primary authors of the Green New Deal, took thousands of dollars from oil and gas lobbyists after publicly pledging to spurn “their dirty money.”

In December, Markey announced he was taking the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge ahead of his 2020 reelection campaign. The pledge, a byproduct of the liberal group Oil Change USA, has become an environmental litmus test for Democratic candidates and elected officials. A majority of Democratic presidential candidates have taken the pledge, along with Markey’s fellow Green New Deal author, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

By signing, Markey promised to refuse campaign donations totaling more than $200 from executives, PACs, and lobbyists representing companies “whose primary business is the extraction, processing, distribution, or sale of oil, gas, or coal.” (snip)

Campaign finance records filed with the Federal Election Commission show Markey accepted more than $10,000 from lobbyists on the payroll of international oil and gas conglomerates.

The article lays out where the money comes from, and, is anyone surprised? Well, in one way, you have to wonder why fossil fuels companies would bother, because he doesn’t seem like the type of guy to stay “bought.” You can bet plenty of others taking the pledge have broken it, much like you can bet all those Dems pledging not to take lobbyist money, dark money, etc, are doing just that.

Yogi Gator Crashes Picnic, Gets All The Guac And Cheese

Gator devours block of cheese and half a watermelon after crashing picnic date

A hungry alligator crashed a picnic date by a Florida lake and gobbled down an entire bowl of guacamole. Taylor Forte had planned a picnic Thursday for her fiance Trevor Walters at Lake Alice, before Walters was to leave for the Marines.

Walters told CBS Gainesville, Florida, affiliate WGFL-TV they were shocked and ran away from the blanket when the animal sprinted onto the beach. “He annihilated an entire block of cheese. Gobbled it down, lickety-split. The salami didn’t stand a chance,” Walters told the station.

“The worst part is we had a big bowl of guac made,” Walters said. “He eats the whole bowl. He put the whole bowl in his mouth.”

The man wanted to scare the gator away, so he made himself look bigger, spreading his arms and making noise. The gator crawled back into the water.

Yeah, but only after eating everything.

Good News: End Of Civilization From ‘Climate Change’ Pushed Out To 2050

The good news is that civilization will not end in just under 12 years now, and as we get closer to 2050, it will be pushed out to 2080, then 2100, and so forth. But, hey, we can solve this with a tax

A harrowing new climate change report warns we may be on the way to extinction, claiming there is a “high likelihood” human civilization will come to an end by 2050 unless action is taken on greenhouse gas emissions.

The dire paper, which predicts a biblical-like scenario of devastating floods, drought, famine and a breakdown in international order, has been endorsed by the former chief of Australia’s military.

The analysis, published May 30 by Australian think tank the Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration, calls for a new approach to climate change and paints a bleak picture of the world in 30 years if nothing is done to combat greenhouse emissions.

Assuming we stay on our current trajectory, emissions will lock in a 3 degree Celsius (37 degrees Fahrenheit) global warming, setting off a disastrous chain off events which the report’s authors claim will lead to “a high likelihood of human civilization coming to an end.”

Someone needs to work on their math skills. A 3C rise is equal to 5.4F. Which won’t happen. Again, there’s been a minimal rise of 1.5F (1C) since 1850

According to the report’s central “2050 scenario,” one billion people will be forced to relocate from unlivable conditions while food production will become inadequate to feed the global population.

North America will suffer from devastating weather extremes including wildfires, heatwaves and drought — while other places in the world such as the Middle East and West Africa will become unlivable.

Meanwhile, 55% of the global population would be subjected to more than 20 days a year of lethal heat conditions, “beyond the threshold of human survivability.”

“This scenario provides a glimpse into a world of ‘outright chaos’ on a path to the end of human civilization and modern society as we have known it, in which the challenges to global security are simply overwhelming and political panic becomes the norm,” the authors claim.

Damn, the NY Post did not waste words getting right to the utter Doomy prognostications of the report, did they.

It’s not much of a paper, just 12 pages, an easy read, and rather devoid of science. But, that’s not the point, which is to get the prognostications of doom out into the public sphere through the very compliant news media.

Top Democrats Considering Censure Instead Of Impeachment

This is the wimping out version, meant to show that they Did Something rather than taking up the impeachment that a goodly chunk of the Democrat base and more unhinged elected members want which would lead to Trump’s easy re-election

Democrats keep censure for Trump on the table

House Democrats are eyeing a move to censure President Trump as a possible alternative to impeaching a president they have accused of gross wrongdoing while in office.

A censure resolution — essentially a public reprimand — lacks the teeth of impeachment’s intrinsic threat to remove a sitting president. But supporters say it would send a clear and immediate message to voters that Democrats are taking seriously their constitutional responsibility to be a check on executive misconduct.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), who’s calling for immediate censure of Trump, said it would send a warning to future administrations that Congress won’t sit idle in the face of presidential malfeasance.

And unlike impeachment, which requires overwhelming Senate support, the Democratic-controlled House could censure Trump without a single Republican on board.

“The advantage of that is it can be done with the House,” he said. “We can hold the president accountable and say that his actions are unethical, and he’s engaged in blatant misconduct and that there can be some accountability for future presidents.”

This is Trump we’re talking about: do you think he’ll be concerned, or laugh off the notion of Democrats censuring him on a strictly party line vote?

Yet there are risks involved with censure, according to a number of former Democratic lawmakers watching the saga unfold.

“The advantage is it perhaps becomes a strategic substitute to an impeachment process that could backfire electorally,” said former-Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.). “The disadvantage is that it could negatively impair the investigations that House Democrats are conducting.”

“If you pass a censure resolution, I suppose an argument could be made that you no longer need these investigations because you’ve already censured the guy,” he added.

At some point Democrats will have to give up their Trump Derangement Syndrome, right? LOL. Good luck with that.
