Washington Post: Trump Was Right About SJWs Coming After Everything From America’s Past

It must have caused the Washington Post quite a bit of heartburn to publish anything that says that Trump is right

After Confederate statues, America’s culture war targets Betsy Ross and a founding father

As the nation has celebrated its birthday with displays of its contemporary power and prestige this week, two of its cherished historic symbols came under fire — its first flag and its third president.

Sportswear company Nike pulled sneakers depicting the 13-star banner known as the Betsy Ross flag after former NFL football player Colin Kaepernick, who has a sponsorship deal with Nike, reportedly objected: The flag, which dates to the era of 18th-century slavery, has occasionally been used by white supremacists and other far-right groups. And the city council in Charlottesville — where Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello plantation is located — voted this week to scrap the former president’s local holiday in favor of one that celebrates the emancipation of African American slaves.

The twin moves opened new fronts in the culture war that President Trump foreshadowed two years ago, after white nationalists marched through Charlottesville to protest the proposed removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

“Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments,” Trump tweeted . “Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson — who’s next, Washington, Jefferson?”

The nation’s growing diversity and polarization has prompted an outcry over the stain of slavery and a reckoning with some of America’s most identifiable historic symbols. The debate over which figures and moments are to be celebrated and which condemned has shifted from emblems of the fallen Confederacy to those that are foundational to the nation’s origin. The giants of U.S. history are being taken off their pedestals, both literally and figuratively, to be reexamined, warts and all.

They’re after just about everything from America’s past. A school in San Francisco, one named after George Washington, is not just planning to cover up a mural of The Life Of Washington that has been there since the New Deal era, the snowflakes are so triggered that they are going paint over it, because it is “hurtful” to the students (who probably do not even pay attention to it).

Many of these SJWs simply hate America. Kaepernick posted a Frederick Douglas quote on Independence Day which basically shows that he does, in fact, hate America. Then Ted Cruz schooled him with something called “context.” And, of course, America hater Colin started the whole Betsy Ross thing. And he, and the others, won’t stop. A question for them is “what is your end-goal?” Another is “what nation can you go to that doesn’t have something in their background?” Because things were different hundreds of years ago.

Unhinged America Haters At Jezebel Want To Rename Independence Day

But, hey, remember, these Leftists tell us that they love America, they just want to change everything about it (via Twitchy)

From the screed

It’s easy to cling to the idea that traditions are traditions because traditions have always been traditions. It’s a cyclical mode of thought, despite fueling much of the baby boomer generation’s voting habits for the last 40 years! But if you stand in opposition to our country’s actions and believe we occupy stolen land—what are we really celebrating? Why waste a beautiful holiday on the rotting carcass of self-described superpower when we could be doing anything else. With that in mind, I’ve put together some quick suggestions on alternate holidays much more in line with America’s next generation, which still allow us to enjoy a long summer weekend:

  • Everyone Posts the Same Flag Cake on Instagram Day (Hazel Cills)
  • Unionize Your Workplace Day
  • MoviePass Memorial Day
  • Legalize Marijuana (And Release All “Drug Offenders”) Day
  • Crash Didn’t Deserve An Oscar Day
  • Old Town Road Day
  • Kamala Harris Is Still a Cop Day
  • Hot Dog Day (Megan Reynolds)
  • Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston Memorial Day (Julianne Escobedo Shepherd)
  • It’s Ok To Wear Those Flip-Flops Day
  • Reparations Are An Essential Political Agenda For Any Democratic Candidate Hoping To Be Elected Day
  • Yes You Can Eat Three Ice Creams Today Day (Alexis Sobel Fitts)
  • Abolish ICE Day
  • De-platform Gwyneth Paltrow Day
  • Charlie’s Angels 2: Full Throttle Is A Better Movie Than The Original Day
  • Rihanna’s Side Boob Day

AOC Reveals Her Immigration Plan, Which Includes ‘Climate Change’ Idiocy

She refused to vote for any funding for the packed illegal immigrant centers, and has refused to demand a vote for her own Green New Deal, so, yeah, this should be good

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Unveils 4-Point Immigration Plan (Point #2: Climate Change)

Ocasio-Cortez, who toured facilities Monday where migrants are held after being caught crossing the border illegally —  and which she refers to as “concentration camps” — unveiled her plan via Twitter on Wednesday.

The plan begins by calling for more aid to the countries of the “Northern Triangle” in Central America — El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras — on the apparent theory that more cash will address what Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) calls the “root causes” of the migration.

Next, Ocasio-Cortez — echoing presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke — demands action on climate change and the implementation of her “Green New Deal,” which she says will reduce the flow of “refugees.”

Following that, Ocasio-Cortez calls for decriminalizing illegal border crossings, making illegal immigration a “civil” matter.

Finally, she calls for massive spending by the government to stimulate the economy — though the U.S. economy is already growing quickly, and is at the lowest unemployment levels in nearly half a century.

Do you ever feel just the slightest bit sorry for Nancy Pelosi who has to deal with this (but not too sorry, because she and the other elder Dems brought about this type of lunacy)? I wonder if her staff makes sure she doesn’t see AOC’s tweets, constantly deflecting her.

It’s not much of a plan, just some ramblings written on Twitter instead of a sticky note. And, if they are natural disasters, then why the need for the Big Government Modern Socialist Green New Deal, which she refuses to demand a vote on? Oh, and how is she going to force her GND on these other countries, and how will it stop natural disasters? She’s all yours, Democrats.

LA To Form “Climate Emergency Mobilization Office” Or Something

Remember, Los Angeles is being woefully negligent in keeping its streets clean, instead spending on money on lawyers and other things for illegal aliens. The garbage in the streets problem is continuing to grow, and rats are making huge inroads, even causing problems in City Hall and police stations. The homeless are streaming into LA. Drug use is rampant. Yet

LA forms first-ever climate emergency mobilisation office

The United States city of Los Angeles has institutionalised the first Climate Emergency Mobilization Department – and the first Climate Emergency Commission – on the planet.

On Wednesday, by a vote of 13-0, the city council unanimously passed legislation to hire a Climate Emergency Mobilization Director and plan the next moves for a citywide climate emergency implementation blueprint that environmental justice groups helped craft through a series of community meetings.

The department will address the local impacts of climate change, including wildfires and floods. It will also take up concerns surrounding pollution and the effects of toxic waste. In addition, people displaced by climate change will be able to seek employment assistance from the government.

“The adoption of a Climate Emergency Mobilization programme represents a major step forward for the city of Los Angeles…in taking urgent action to fight back against this accelerating global crisis,” said Margaret Klein Salamon, founder and executive director of The Climate Mobilization – the group that put the idea of climate mobilisation into the public consciousness a half-decade ago.

“The Climate Mobilization applauds this important step and encourages the City Council to quickly adopt the full proposal submitted on March 15 by Councilmember Koretz and the Leap LA Coalition,” said Salamon.

“Addressing our climate emergency in urgent fashion not only preserves our planet for the next generation, it presents a tremendous opportunity to do so in ways which are equitable, inclusive and just for all communities,” she added.

The mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, in April released a Green New Deal for the city, putting the metropolis on course to become carbon neutral by 2050.

First, this is pretty much all about left wing politics, and has little to do with the climate. Second, good luck with both it and the GND offered by Garcetti. LA is an area that runs on fossil fuels, if we’re considering the broader area we think of as LA, which would include Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Malibu, Burbank, Glendale, and others. Hollywood could not do its thing without fossil fuels. Nor could the sporting teams. Nor most businesses. The roads are jam packed every day with commuters. People take fossil fueled trips to the beach. There are lots of airports, including LA International. People visit from all over the nation and the world.

They’re just going to spend a lot of taxpayer money on this climate mobilization department to do Social Justice Warrioring things, trying to tell people how to live their lives. And trying to get those things embedded in law. While they drive to and from the office in garbage covered streets in their own fossil fueled vehicles.

It’s Independence Day, So, Of Course The NY Times Tries To “Take Stock” Of America

At least in the Era Of Trump, news organizations must find ways to hate on America, so, the NY Times editorial board gives it a shot

America the Beautiful
Taking stock of the state of the Republic on Independence Day.

America in 2019 is a nation that locks up migrant children after separating them from their families. And yet it is also a nation that gives sanctuary and charity to tired, poor people as they seek to join this community, built by immigrants.

It’s a nation that walked out on its commitment to help preserve a livable planet for future generations. And a nation whose engines of ingenuity are working to make the planet healthier and safer.

Its underpaid women’s World Cup soccer team competes wearing the national colors, even as the nation’s symbols and traditionsare fiercely contested back home.

Despite the mention of Hotcoldwetdry and the soccer team, this is mostly about illegal immigration

Anyone curious about the effects of anti-immigration policies of the Trump administration needs look no further than the sad faces on the pictures of jailed children drawn by jailed children. For the strong of stomach, photos from the government’s own inspectors are even more disturbing.

Again, these people put themselves in this situation by coming illegally. Though, certainly, illegal aliens supporters like the NYTEB are complicit in telling them to come illegally. Further, where were the complaints when Obama was doing this? The condemnation rings hollow

Yet there are also stories from the border that showcase this country’s virtues.

After reading about the conditions inside detention facilities, Austin Savage and a group of friends walked into a store in Texas. They walked out, having spent hundreds of dollars on diapers, wipes, soaps and toys. When they arrived at a Border Patrol station that was holding children in Clint their donation was refused. While at the station, they also found a bag in the lobby holding soap, toothpaste and a note: “I heard y’all need soap + toothpaste for kids. Maybe more will be on its way soon.”

Of course, that whole soap and toothpaste thing started under, yes, Mr. Obama! This schlock continues on and on, finally delving into other subjects

It may seem odd that a country so prosperous, so powerful and so free would at the same time be so anxious and angry, so riven by factionalism. It’s even more puzzling — and not unrelated — that this same country, with such resources to draw upon, would nevertheless tolerate such high levels of poverty and homelessness, of addiction to pharmaceutical drugs, of inequality in wealth and application of justice and quality of education.

Well, perhaps if we weren’t spending so much money on illegal aliens we’d be able to spend the money on those other things. But, hey, rather than celebrating America and all its great things, the NY Times has to shit on it. Because this is Liberal World

Rep Frederica Wilson (D-Fla) Says People Making Fun Of Congress Members Should Be Prosecuted

Yet, somehow, it is Republicans who are the Fascists

Florida Democrat says those ‘making fun’ of members of Congress online should be ‘prosecuted’

Democrat Rep. Frederica Wilson said people who are “making fun” of members of Congress online should be “prosecuted.”

The Florida congresswoman made the comments on Tuesday outside of the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children in her home state.

“Those people who are online making fun of members of Congress are a disgrace, and there is no need for anyone to think that is unacceptable [sic],” Wilson said.

“We’re gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted,” she added. “You cannot intimidate members of Congress, frighten members of Congress. It is against the law, and it’s a shame in this United States of America.”

Wilson’s comments came amid a controversy over a Facebook group that includes Border Patrol agents and where they allegedly mocked and posted graphic content about members of Congress, including New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

It is not OK to make threats towards Congress members, the same way making threats towards any citizen is against the law.

However, the main point of the Freedom Of Speech clause was to safeguard citizens from reprisal from members of the federal government, particularly Congress, for speaking their minds, having different viewpoints, disagreeing with them, and, yes, making fun of them. It was all about politics, not about being free to call someone else a jerk. What Wilson calls “intimidating” is what the Constitution calls “free speech” and “petitioning for redress of grievance” and “peaceably assembling.”

But, members of Congress should be intimidated by The People. They are not our masters. They are there to do the job WE tell them to do. Wilson simply highlights the Fascist views of the Democrats.

Good News: A Green New Deal Can Start With Local Communities

This is actually a fantastic idea (even though this reads like something from a more modern Communist Manifesto)

Opinion: A Green New Deal can start with local communities

The power of a Green New Deal as an approach to the climate crisis is its potential to shift the political consensus on what’s possible so that climate science and Indigenous knowledge become the basis for action.

The Green New Deal is capturing people’s imaginations and reframing the climate debate in a way that builds a groundswell of support for a major social and economic shift.

A Green New Deal for all will ensure that transformation is carried out equitably, that it is rooted in climate justice, that it respects the rights of Indigenous peoples, and that it creates over a million jobs in the process.

To build the necessary political pressure for federal parties and the federal government to implement a Green New Deal, we need to build as much momentum as we can everywhere we can. And federal parties are starting to respond to the groundswell of support for a Green New Deal with more ambitious climate plans.

But, what if we didn’t need to wait to win a Green New Deal until after the federal election? What if we could start building it, right here, right now, from the ground up?

The Council of Canadians is launching a campaign to win local Green New Deals in communities from coast to coast to coast. Making your community a Green New Deal Community is a way of both advancing a Green New Deal locally, while also applying upward pressure to ultimately win a federal Green New Deal.

I think you get the point, namely that the Cultists want to make this happen at the local level. This is, in fact, a great idea. They should give it a whirl in many of the more Modern Socialist cities. NYC is, of course, sort of going to give it a whirl with their own version. But, really, they should try implementing the entire thing. That’s the only way it works. Do the whole thing.

Why would we want this? Because it will highlight to Canada, and America, just how horrible the ideas are from the Cult of Climastrology, and how bad the Green New Deal is. How much it will hurt the lives of citizens. So, yes, implement it. Sometimes having a visual of things is much better than talking about it, right?
