Italy Plans Mandatory Indoctrination On ‘Climate Change’ In Schools

Could this possibly backfire?

Italy plans mandatory climate change lessons for schools

All children in Italy will have to study climate change at school starting from next year, becoming the first country in the world where this will be compulsory.

Italy’s minister for education, Lorenzo Fioramonti, announced the decision on Wednesday.

The decision will apply to all state-run schools in the southern European nation and will come into force from the start of the 2020 school year in September.

The lessons, which will also teach sustainable development, will be given to pupils from first grade through high school, from the ages of six to 19 years.

Speaking earlier to Reuters news agency, Fioramonti said all state schools would dedicate 33 hours per year, almost one hour per school week, to climate change issues.

You just know that Warmists will complain about it only being one hour per week, because that’s what they do. Complain. But, think about it: kids can be pretty darned contrary, can’t they? They do not like bowing to authority. Might this cause them to take the time to do some research and learn the truth about this man-caused climate change scam push?

According to a report in UK newspaper The Telegraph the syllabus will be based on theUnited Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals, including how to live more sustainably, how to combat the pollution of the oceans and how to address poverty and social injustice.

So, it’s not really about ‘climate change’, just about Modern Socialism, eh?

Meanwhile

Who’s Up For A “Green Interest Rate”?

If you want authoritarian/socialism, this is authoritarian/socialism, whereby the federal government uses some sort of Scary Thing manufactured by government to inject itself even more heavily into the economy and the lives of citizens. It’s really what’s called Progressivism, otherwise known as Fascism

A ‘green interest rate?’ Fed digs into climate change economics

In their deliberations on monetary policy, Federal Reserve policymakers need to consider many factors, but up to now, climate change has not been one of them.

But as worries about the warming planet increase, the U.S. central bank is taking a closer look at the economic impacts of higher temperatures, more frequent severe weather, and rising sea levels.

A “green interest rate” is one of the ideas on view Friday as the San Francisco Fed convenes the U.S. central bank’s first-ever conference on climate change and economics. The event is so oversubscribed a webcast has been created to meet demand.

While the Fed lags central banking peers such as the Bank of England in making climate change an explicit part of its financial stability remit, the conference is the latest sign the Fed has started to take the risks and costs of global warming seriously.

“It’s important for us from a monetary policy perspective to know what the potential growth rate of the economy is and if climate events or climate risk is going to shave that off, even if it’s over the long term,” San Francisco Fed chief Mary Daly said in New York earlier this week.

The weather, and, yes, the climate, has always had an effect on economic progress. And usually tends to do much better during Holocene warm periods than the cool ones.

Papers to be presented at this week’s conference provide that perspective in a range of ways. One estimates climate change could subtract 7% from real world per capita GDP by 2100; another finds that subsidies for green energy like wind and solar are not an effective tool against global warming, but carbon taxes, if implemented in many parts of the world, would be. Others papers map out how climate change affects asset prices and show trade policy subsidizes greenhouse gas emissions.

I’m glad these big wigs could take fossil fueled trips to San Francisco to discuss taxes. Perhaps they should remember than the vast majority refuse to spend even $10 a month to “solve” anthropogenic climate change. It’s nice to know that they think subsidies for “green” energy are worthless, though.

Scientists are in broad agreement that carbon dioxide from cars, power plants and other human sources are behind the climate change that’s already making powerful hurricanes, severe drought, and other weather extremes more frequent.

Duckspeak. Without scientific proof.

At the conference, Carnegie Mellon University professor Nicholas Muller will outline a “green interest rate.” Simply put, he suggests interest-rate setting should take into account the economic drag that greenhouse gas emissions are projected to cause.

“Rates should be lower when pollution damages are rising,” Muller said in an interview. His paper also shows how judicious use of rate policy can skew investment in ways that could aid environmental goals and save human lives.

Was the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900 caused by “pollution”? Perhaps we should start by creating carbon taxes that specifically target those who push carbon taxes, like universities, the news media, and so on, see if they’re so gung ho at that point.

Esquire: Matt Bevins Refuses To Concede, Which Is Authoritarian, Just Like Trump Or Something

Democrats love throwing around the word “authoritarian” in the Age Of Trump, just like they enjoy throwing around the words racist and racism. They love calling him an authoritarian, because Trump is utterly involving himself in their lives, right? And it means every Republican is an authoritarian, per Esquire’s Charles Pierce

The Authoritarian Rot That Produced This President* Is Present in the Republican Party at All Levels

I guess we should start this week’s tour in Kentucky, where the Republican majority in the state legislature is making all kinds of noises about how, as far as they’re all concerned, the wrong person got elected governor on Tuesday. From the Louisville Courier-Journal:

Stivers’ comments came shortly after Gov. Matt Bevin refused to concede to Attorney General Andy Beshear, who led by roughly 5,100 votes when all the precincts were counted. “There’s less than one-half of 1%, as I understand, separating the governor and the attorney general,” Stivers said. “We will follow the letter of the law and what various processes determine.” Stivers, R-Manchester, said based on his staff’s research, the decision could come before the Republican-controlled state legislature. Under state law, Bevin has 30 days to formally contest the outcome once it is certified by the State Board of Elections. Candidates typically ask for a re-canvass of voting machines and a recount first. The last contested governor’s race was the 1899 election of Democrat William Goebel.

(It should be noted here that things didn’t work out that well for Goebel back in the day. He lost by somewhere around 2,200 votes to William Taylor after a chaotic Democratic nominating process. Whereupon, the assembly ratfcked Taylor out of his victory and, the day after Goebel was declared the winner, somebody shot him to death, but he lingered long enough to be sworn in. He’s still the only sitting state governor to be assassinated. Meanwhile, the ringleader of the plot to kill Goebel did a little time and, upon release, got elected to Congress four times, because, you know, America.)

Suffice it to say, this would be ratfcking of the highest parliamentary order, but it also is yet another indication that the authoritarian rot that produced the current president* is present in the Republican Party at all levels. Democratic success in elections, unless it is achieved by overwhelming margins, is in the eyes of Republicans prima facie illegitimate. It started with Bill Clinton and it’s gotten worse ever since.

So, hey, does this make Stacy Abrams an authoritarian, because she whined incessantly and wanted recounts, as have many Democrats. Pierce mentions two other issues, one being the Republican general assembly canning the Secretary of Agriculture in Wisconsin, and

And we conclude, as is our custom, in the great state of Oklahoma, where Blog Official Saloon Pianist Friedman of the Plains brings us the saga of something I fear we’re all going to have to deal with when this great scourge of an administration* finally is no more. From KTUL News:

Two Republican state senators have written a bill to rename a portion of the world-renowned Route 66 highway in northeastern Oklahoma the President Donald J. Trump Highway. Sens. Nathan Dahm of Broken Arrow and Marty Quinn of Claremore announced Tuesday their plans to introduce the bill. The bill would rename a roughly 13-mile stretch of Route 66 from the town of Miami extending north and east through the town of Commerce to Industrial Parkway in Ottawa County.

You just know that he’s going to be bribing people to name stuff after him until two weeks after he’s dead. Hell, his only real skill in business was getting people to name stuff after him. Your grandchildren one day may go to Donald J. Trump High School. This is the nightmare we have chosen.

Anyone want to tell him about Barack Obama and Robert “Sheets” Byrd?

Anyone want to tell him the definition of authoritarian?

Authoritarianism, principle of blind submission to authority, as opposed to individual freedom of thought and action. In government, authoritarianism denotes any political system that concentrates power in the hands of a leader or a small elite that is not constitutionally responsible to the body of the people. Authoritarian leaders often exercise power arbitrarily and without regard to existing bodies of law, and they usually cannot be replaced by citizens choosing freely among various competitors in elections. The freedom to create opposition political parties or other alternative political groupings with which to compete for power with the ruling group is either limited or nonexistent in authoritarian regimes.

If you look in dictionaries and political science 101 books, you’ll find similar definitions. How is contesting an election authoritarian? Naming part of a road after a president authoritarian? How about attempting to reduce the number of federal rules that affect citizen’s lives? Pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, ending the Waters of the U.S., and so much more, all of which had given the federal government wide control over citizens? I’ve asked time and again, and Democrats cannot really name anything that Trump is doing that demands submission to authority, to government.

Comrade Bernie Releases An Immigration Plan

Remember, though, Democrats are not for open borders

Yeah, this should be a winning plan for the general election, right?

(Daily Caller) Sanders also called for an end to detention for illegal aliens who do not carry a violent crime conviction and instead provide them “community-based alternatives to detention,” such as programs that offer illegal aliens educational, health, legal and work resources. (snip)

In what appears to be a stretch into the senator’s environmental platform, Sanders also declared that he would accept a minimum of 50,000 “climate migrants” in the first year of his presidency, welcoming migrants allegedly displaced by climate change. He also wants to establish a $14 billion legal defense program to assist poor migrants undergoing immigration cases.

From what we’ve seen in Democrat sanctuary jurisdictions, rapists, arsonists, and child predators, among others, are considered non-violent. And, cool, spending $14 billion to help “climate refugees” and such. How much more will be required to feed and house and take care of all these folks for the rest of their lives?

Senate Republicans Consider Calling Joe Biden During Impeachment

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: people shouldn’t focus on Hunter Biden, but Joe Biden. If Hunter did something illegal, that’s on Ukraine to deal with. But, Joe, on the other hand, did exactly what Trump is being accused of, a quid pro quo using the power and money of the United States government for the benefit of his family

(Washington Post) Senate Republicans are privately debating whether they should use an impeachment trial of President Trump to scrutinize former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter as some Trump allies push to call them as witnesses while others dismiss the suggestion as a risky political ploy.

The ongoing discussions are a revealing glimpse into the fault lines in the GOP ahead of a possible trial of Trump in the upper chamber, where there are varying appetites among Senate Republicans for the type of political combat relished by the president and his most hardcore defenders. (snip)

“The Bidens have to be called,” former White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon said Sunday on Fox News. “Joe Biden is a hand grenade and Hunter Biden is the pin. And when that pin gets pulled, the shrapnel is going to blow back all over the Democratic establishment,”

Joe should be the target, and, let’s not forget that he is on video as saying that Barack Obama approved. If Trump is guilty of quid pro quo, which, at last check, wasn’t really a violation of the law, then what of Biden and Obama? If people are saying that what Trump did was unethical (when he was trying to get to the heart of corruption, especially regarding the 2016 election), then what of Joe and Barack?

It’s worth watching Glenn Beck’s explanation of what happened. It’s interesting that the Washington Post wrote their whole, long article without even delving into “why” Joe and Hunter would be called.

New Zealand Passes Law To Become Carbon Neutral By 2050

Well, good luck with this, it’ll surely work worse than the gun grabbing law (which has a compliance rate of around 30%)

Climate change: New Zealand passes ‘zero carbon’ law

New Zealand lawmakers on Thursday passed a “Zero Carbon” bill that it hopes will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to a near-neutral level by 2050.

The legislation, which was supported on both sides of the political divide, mandates that in 40 years’ time, the country should produce no greenhouse gases, except methane, as part of the country’s efforts to meet its Paris climate accord commitments.

The bill has different regulations for methane emissions from animals versus other greenhouse gases, due to farming’s important role in bringing in foreign income. However, it still aims to cut 10% of biological methane by 2030, and up to 47% by 2050.

It’s a little short on actual detail of how to achieve this, like, how will they get rid of all the fossil fueled vehicles of citizens, not too mention all the fossil fueled flights for tourism (6.1% of GDP). How about all the buildings? Agriculture? Power? Food? There will be a commission created to come up with plans to empower the government to force people to comply.

(Irish Times) Prime minister Jacinda Ardern told MPs New Zealand was on the “right side of history”. She said: “I absolutely believe and continue to stand by the statement that climate change is the biggest challenge of our time.

“Undeniably, our sea levels are rising, and undeniably, we are experiencing extreme weather events – increasingly so.

Rising seas, huh? Most of the stations for New Zealand aren’t helpful, being either too short term or having ended almost 20 years ago (Aukland II showed just .42 feet per 100 years, went from 1903 to 2000. Kinda need more recent data). Wellington shows .89 feet per 100 years, and Dunedin, which goes back to 1900-2016, shows .45 feet over 100 years. How much is related to New Zealand being a major earthquake area? Perhaps they should worry more about that.

It will be interesting watching them attempt to implement this. They can serve as the experiment subject in a petri dish.

Surprise: Scientists Declaring Climate Emergency Want Population Reduction, Wholesale Change Of Systems

Yesterday I wrote about these Cult of Climastrology scientists saying a tiny increase in CO2 would cause untold suffering. And now we learn more about what they’re pushing

(HuffPost) In order to avoid a “hothouse Earth” where runaway temperature increases beget further warming, the scientists call for immediate action to overhaul the way we live ― from agriculture to education.

“Rather than piecemeal solutions, we need transformative change in the way society functions and interacts with nature,” William Ripple, a professor at Oregon State University’s College of Forestry, told HuffPost in an email. Ripple, one of the study’s authors, called for a holistic solution that also addresses social justice issues and honors “the diversity of humans around the world.” (big snip)

“I think we are entering into a social tipping point in our fight against climate change,” said Ripple, who is hopeful that the world will take the necessary action to tackle this issue. “The urgency of the conversation seems to be ramping up for governments, businesses, and individuals.” (snip)

Simply focusing on rising temperatures fails to “capture the breadth of human activities and the real dangers stemming from a warming planet,” the study states.

After analyzing more than 40 years worth of public data on everything from energy consumption, emissions, and the Earth’s surface temperature to land use, fertility rates, and GDP, the researchers laid out six areas where “humanity should take immediate steps” in order to slow down the impacts of a warming world: energy, short-lived pollutants, nature, food, the economy and population.

So, basically, they are partisan political hacks, calling to get rid of capitalism and Democracy, replacing them with Modern Socialism and a domineering central government. Funny how most of the mainstream articles about this avoided discussing this material, as well as

Finally, global population must be stabilized and “ideally gradually reduced,” the study says, noting that this must be done “within a framework that ensures social integrity.” This will require initiatives that make family planning available to all, achieving “full gender equity,” and making primary and secondary education a “global norm.”

That’s the politically correct way of saying they want to reduce the population, and, of course, it will surely start with those icky black and brown people in Africa and Asia, where they should be supplied with lots and lots of contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortions. Climate Cultists have been dipping into this well for quite some time. Most know better than to really express this overtly, though.

Whistleblower” Lawyer Wrote About “Coup Has Started” In 2017, Trump Blasts

This is rather important, right?

Well, not important enough to be covered by NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, ABC New, NBC News, CBS News, or CNN, among others

Trump, at Louisiana rally, hits ‘disgraceful’ whistleblower’s attorney who tweeted of ‘coup’ in 2017

President Trump, at a campaign rally in Louisiana Wednesday night, unloaded on whistleblower attorney Mark Zaid, after a Fox News article from earlier in the day revealed that Zaid had tweeted about the beginning of a “coup” against the president back in 2017.

The president extensively quoted from the article, which reported that Zaid has long called for Trump’s impeachment — even promising two years ago, “We will get rid of him.”

Zaid now represents the intelligence community whistleblower who is at the center of Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against the president. The whistleblower has alleged that, earlier this year, Trump improperly threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine for political reasons.

“Democrats must be accountable for their hoaxes and their crimes,” Trump said, holding a printout of the Fox News piece.

“I don’t know if you saw, I’m just coming off the plane, and they hand me — look at this character. They just hand me this story, ”Coup has started,’ whistleblower attorney said in 2017.'”

Trump added: “That was a long time ago. It’s all a hoax. They say, January 2017 — a ‘coup has started,’ and the ‘impeachment will follow ultimately.’ It’s all a hoax. It’s a scam. And, you know who helps them? These people back here — the media.”

This is rather important information to be covered by the self-described un-biased, totally not working to get Democrats elected media, right? From that earlier in the day article

Amid a slew of impeachment-related posts, Zaid assured his Twitter followers that “as one falls, two more will take their place,” apparently referring to Trump administration employees who defy the White House. Zaid promised that the “coup” would occur in “many steps.” (snip)

“The whistleblower’s lawyer gave away the game,” the Trump campaign’s communications director, Tim Murtaugh, told Fox News. “It was always the Democrats’ plan to stage a coup and impeach President Trump and all they ever needed was the right scheme. They whiffed on Mueller so now they’ve settled on the perfectly fine Ukraine phone call. This proves this was orchestrated from the beginning.”

Added House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy: “We should take [Zaid] at his word that this is a coordinated, premeditated plot to overturn the election.”

This was the intention even before Trump won, with Democrats talking about impeaching Trump if he won, but, really started hard when the actual election results came in. The Deep State is real. Look, Progressives are great at long term planning. They manage to get control of all sorts of sectors, both public and private, through long, long plans. People toe the line even when it’s not really good for them. First they got the education system, because what better way to indoctrinate people than that? They slowly worked their way into being in control of lots of sectors, such the entertainment industry, lawyers guild, doctors guild, sports players pretend to be Progressives, and have worked their way into the intelligence community, the military, and the Christian religion. They’ve long hated those last three, and, what better way to destroy them than from the inside?

The other one they went after early was the government bureaucracy, particularly the federal and state ones. This is the deep state. And this whole impeachment thing is pure partisan garbage. We’ll see if it backfires on election day 2020.
