Gun Grabbers Push Gun Grabbing Immediately After Leftist Nutjob Kills People

The Lexington Herald Leader noted the timeline of the murders

8:38 a.m.: Louisville Metro Police officers received a call of shots fired at 333 East Main Street in downtown.

8:41 a.m.: Officers arrived at the Old National Bank where they encountered the shooter who was actively firing. Police immediately opened fire on the shooter, who died at the scene. Police are working to determine if the shooter’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, or the result of police gunfire.

10 a.m.: It was determined there was no longer an active threat to the public.

And at 1142am in the same paper

After Louisville shooting, it’s time to get out our bullhorns. We’re sick of gun deaths. | Opinion

Have we had enough yet?

Exactly two weeks after a deranged shooter killed six people in Nashville, three of them precious, innocent children, a deranged shooter killed four people in Louisville (the shooter also died), and sent eight more to the hospital.

Yes, a Democratic Party voting transgender wackjob

How many dead bodies ripped apart by bullets are enough? Does this have to go on until every family in America has lost someone to gun violence? Maybe that could be a high enough threshold for the insane death cult started by the National Rifle Association and upheld by so many of our elected officials.

So when will we have had enough? America, the great and good superpower, looks less and less exceptional on every front, but most of all it’s because any public or private space can at any minute turn into a shooting gallery. Why is that ok with so many people?

Connor Sturgeon, the Louisville murderer, uses he/him in his social media stuff, and

Sen. Karen Berg, D-Louisville was one of the rare dissenters. On Monday she tweeted: “It is time to address common sense gun legislation. KY requires all guns confiscated in the state to be resold on the open market. Will not even discuss red flag laws in the legislature. No office of gun safety. Thoughts and prayers are not enough! It is past time for action.”

Red flag laws didn’t do a damned thing trans wacko in Nashville.

It’s not about anything else, not mental illness, not gender identity, not politics, not social media.

It’s the guns. Right now, we have almost 400 million weapons in this country. That’s more guns than people.

If it was the guns and the people who lawfully own them, you’d know it. It is the wackos.

Americans want more common sense gun control measures, like better background checks, but the corrupt figures at the NRA have too much power over our politicians. When two Black representatives in Tennessee took to the House floor with a bullhorn to bring attention to this fact, the GOP majority expelled them.

The NRA is made up of American citizens, and the background checks system fails on numerous occasions: how will an expanded system work? Why don’t they just come out and say it: they want to ban the average American from owning a firearm. Again, I’m not against certain measures. I’m even for expanding the waiting period so that a proper, Constitutional background check can be performed. But, everything the Democrats propose are just small steps towards banning and confiscation.

Also, if they want to save lives, well, at least 3-5 times more die from alcohol. Why not enforce the existing laws on firearms? Heck, the same people screeching for gun control have let Hunter Biden, who lied on his firearm application, off scott free. The same people have gone completely soft on criminals.

More: The paper has ideas for gun grabbing, er, common sense gun reform, to go with banning private ownership of “assault rifles” and large capacity magazines

  • Establish an accurate national gun sale database; (so the government knows who has what and where)
  • Stop criminals, the mentally unbalanced, drunks, druggies, and other dangerous people from gun ownership; (hey, this is on you leftist soft on crime folks)
  • Prevent gun sales to people on “no fly” and watch lists; (unconstitutional)
  •  Require carry permits, stopping concealed carry; (permit to open carry? SCOTUS already ruled on concealed)
  • Increase taxes on guns/ammunition to compensate victims and offset law enforcement costs; (unconstitutional poll tax for a Constitutional right)
  • Raise the age to purchase firearms to 21 so that a child who can’t buy wine also can’t buy a gun; (unconstitutional)
  •  Require guns to be under lock and key, making parents legally responsible if a teenager uses their guns to kill others. (if under lock and key they are worthless)

Funny how this is mostly all about the law abiding.

Most mass shooters, like the Nashville child killer, buy, keep and bear their AR-15s lawfully.

They are lawful until they aren’t, right?

    Mr Teach typed:

Mr Teach’s claim is propaganda. No doubt, there are Americans who advocate the banning of all firearms. What those people and Mr Teach fail to realize is that arms ownership is enshrined in our Constitution (2nd Amendment). You know, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”.

What almost all American mass killers have in common is the tool they use – AR-15 style rifles stocked with high-capacity magazines.

    More Guns, Less Crime…

  2. Elwood P. Dowd says:

(NYT) The mother of a 6-year-old who shot his first-grade teacher in a Virginia classroom faces criminal charges of neglect and endangerment, the authorities said on Monday, the latest development in a case that stunned the community and brought a new level of concern to the charged debate over guns and school safety.

A grand jury in Newport News indicted the mother on one felony charge of child neglect and a misdemeanor charge of child endangerment involving a loaded weapon, the city’s prosecutor said in a statement. Her son shot his teacher once with a handgun at Richneck Elementary School on Jan. 6, seriously injuring her.

The gun had been legally purchased by the boy’s mother, the police said.

Isn’t this outrageous, conservatives? A lawful gun-owner is being prosecuted/persecuted for exercising her Constitutional right to keep an Arm. Don’t you find laws dictating how a lawful gun-owner keeps and bears their Arm(s) anti-American?

The mother claimed she stored the handgun on the top shelf of her closet with a trigger lock. Doubtful.

Should cities be able to dictate how a citizen keeps and bears Arms?

    • James Lewis says:

      Dear Elwood:

“Should cities be able to dictate how a citizen keeps and bears Arms?”

      No.

Telling someone how they must keep and/or bears clearly violates the 2nd.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

So you agree that that young Black mother, Deja Taylor, should not be prosecuted for allowing her disturbed six year old to have a handgun?

Would you prosecute the mentally disturbed black kid?

The wounded teacher is suing the school for $40 million.

Or is this is just one of those things that happens in a free society like America? It just can’t be prevented!

Some cities have laws dictating that gun-owners must be in ‘control’ of their firearms. Is these laws unConstitutional in your opinion?

  3. Jl says:

Correct, J-as the statistics show, gun fatalities on a per capita basis have decreased since the 70s

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Jill typed:

gun fatalities on a per capita basis have decreased since the 70s

True!! But not steadily. Although the gun homicide rate has increased sharply since 2014 the rate is slightly below 1974 (There was a second peak in gun death rate in 1992 – after which the homicide rate plummeted some 40% and stayed low until 2014). The suicide rate by gun has increased slowly but steadily since 2004.

Do you think the slight overall decrease in gun death rate is because of the increase in AR-15 ownership, that is, more AR-15s means fewer gun deaths?

Since the end of the assault weapons ban, the production of AR-15 style rifles has tripled. Public mass shootings (4 or more killed) have increased nearly 10 fold.

In 2020, 54% of firearms death were from suicide, 43% from homicide and 3% other (accidents, police related). Not many suicides are by AR-15.

Death rates by firearm varies widely by state. WY, LA, MS, KY, TN, OK, MO, AR, AL, SC, MT, NM are significantly worse than CA, NY, NJ, HI, MN, MA…

According to the FBI there were 3 ‘active shooter’ incidents in 2000 and 40 in 2020; 60 in 2021. Again, these were not all associated with AR-15 style rifles. Total manufacture of firearms in the U.S. has nearly tripled since 2000. We assume most were purchased and not warehoused.

Is the societal risk from semi-auto rifles and handguns worth the benefit? Is there value in having police officers ‘outgunned’ by body-armored mass shooters?

If I were king, I would outlaw all auto and semi-auto rifles and handguns. Home protection? Use a your tactical shotgun (semi-auto or pump) and your revolver. Not many bad guys continue their attacks after a 12g double ought low-recoil to the torso. Hunting? Use your bolt action or lever rifles. These actions would cut the homicide rate and the mass shooting rate. If you think your AR-15 will prevent gubmint tyranny you are in for a shock.

    More criminals, more crime

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Duh, one is not a criminal until one commits a crime. It’s a tautology!

Who commits crimes? Criminals, that’s who!

  6. Dana says:

Linda Blackford cited state Senator Karen Berg. Dr Berg is the mother of a daughter who thought she should be a son, and committed suicide. Rather than trying to get help for her delusional daughter, she supported her idiotic ‘transition,’ thus proving that she’s a quack herself.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

How do you know she didn’t try to get help for her child, Henry? And why would you take the time to mock a woman and her deceased child?

But your compassion is duly noted. It’s been my experience that conservative Christians maintain your level of humanity.

A good friend’s daughter took her life a few years ago having lived with severe depression for all her adult life. Nothing worked. She left a husband and two beautiful young children behind. Pretty hilarious, huh? Her husband and kids vacation with us every year and are good friends with our grandchildren.

Get this. A Division Director at the FDA that I knew took her own life several months ago after battling depression/anxiety. How ironic, right? A brilliant, tough, successful scientist and compassionate physician who worked at the FDA took her own life. The FDA! They specialize in drug development!!

  7. Professor Hale says:

    Common sense gun reform:
    1. Abolish the BATFE. Repeal all of the laws they currently regulate or enforce. Fire all of the employees with a lifetime ban on serving in any government capacity in the future.
    2. Tie the types of weapons available to the general public to those permitted to police forces, including SWAT teams. Police are not military. They are Civilians. What is permitted to them ought to be permitted to everyone.

If you watch the video from the Nashville shooting you see two important but related facts: The bad girl used a Keltec 9mm carbine (uses pistol ammunition that actually says it is “for war” in it’s name). The police showed up using AR-15s. The lesson is, Good guys use AR-15s to stop Bad people. The answer is simple. If the police need AR-15s to stop bad people from killing children, it is good enough for the rest of us too and for the same reason.

By the way. The AR-15 can no longer be considered a “weapon of war” since the US military is trading them all in for 6.8mm rifles. According to the Army program office, the 5.56mm simple isn’t very good at killing people and despite multiple attempts to improve it, it just doesn’t have the penetration or stopping power needed. 50 years of combat data backs up this assertion and supports why the Army began searching for a replacement 10 years ago. 5.56mm rounds are particularly bad at making killing wounds in thin targets, (like children and undernourished adults), at making killing wounds at close range (like indoors at schools), and at military body armor (like potential enemy troops wear). The old 55gr ball ammo was replaced nearly 30 years ago with the 62gr steel core penetrator to give better penetrating performance against armor, at the cost of doing worse against skinny people. Marines adopted a round that did worse against armor to improve performance against skinny people (Africans and Asians). Finally, the Army determined that the 5.56mm just did not have the warfighting capabilities that real warfighters needed. It isn’t good enough for warfighting. No similar claim has ever been made concerning the 30-06 despite getting us through 2 world wars.

The civilian marketplace will continue to have multiple sizes of bullets from 40gr to 75 gr, owing to their popularity in the target shooting sports and their excellence in hunting varmints. What makes the 5.56mm weapon really good is not some mythical damage it can do to people. It is that the high velocity yields a very flat trajectory from 50 to 300 meters, which makes the task of training in markspanship easy and cheap. You can hit a man-sized oject in the center mass at any range from 50-300m by just aiming at the center. Bullet drop doesn’t become significant (needing recomputing point of aim) until 350m. This is something totally pointless if you are shooting indoors at something 10m away. You may as well have brought a pistol.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The 5.56 mm round has served us well for well over 50 years! But death marches on! But it’s comforting to know it will no longer be called a weapon of war. It’s our understanding the the AR-15 manufacturers have already upgraded receivers, magazines and barrels.

An ongoing complaint from mass shooting enthusiasts was the lack of killing power of the 5.56 and worry that the excess wounding gives mass shooters a bad name. In addition, having to shoot a school kid more than once wastes expensive ammo!!

The 6.88, while heavier and slower with a bit more recoil, kills civilians of all shapes and sizes – skinny, fat, tall, short, white, black, 5 years old to 55 years old!!! And usually a single shot will do the trick. It’s already available for the mass shooting hobbyist!! Within a year we should have enough data to see if it’s superior to the 5.56 in regards to killing little kids! Most mass shooting enthusiasts feel bad about not getting clean kills. No one wants little Johnny or Grace to suffer.

The .30-06 (and similar) is a venerable round but most would find it hard to shoot 150 rounds hand-held in 3 minutes. It was a great round for the semi-auto M1 (with 8 shot clip). In the US, many big game hunters use a bolt action .30-06.

Ya gotta understand drowningpuppies, everything with that guy is politics so it boils down to propaganda. Gotta get the agenda into everything. He stated earlier: ” If you think your AR-15 will prevent gubmint tyranny you are in for a shock.” Truth is we only need to prevent gubmint tyranny until we win some more equipment. That won’t be that long either since most of our military come from the South and from more conservative and Christian families. Face it, faggot lefties are fuckin cowards if they don’t have superior numbers and since most AR-15 owners are our people the lefties protecting the . . A hundred million of us can and will beat the gubmint, steal our weapons back and turn them on the enemy. THAT’S WHY THEY WANT TO DISARM US. Face it, dowd doesn’t give a shit about killing kids. If he did he would be pro life and anti grooming. He cares about power and he realizes that with 300 million gunowners in America and the overwhelming majority being Patriots he and his fellow Mulvaney’s won’t stand a chance when they try and put that boot on our face forever. He’s got few military personnel on his team and the cops protect their own so he has to rely on Richard Levine to protect him.
