    According to the warrant, federal law enforcement officials are investigating the former president for the destruction, removal or destruction of records, obstruction of an investigation, and violating a provision of the Espionage Act related to gathering, transmitting or losing defense information.

    We understand that cunservatives object to prosecutorial discretion. What about now?

    In 2018, then-President Trump signed a law upgrading mishandling secret records from a misdemeanor to a felony. The signing followed Republican criticisms of Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information.

    Anyway, do you-uns feel/believe that the FBI planted the files?

      And on Friday, Trump posted that the documents the FBI alleged seized were “all declassified” and agents “they could have had [the documents] anytime they wanted without playing politics and breaking into Mar-a-Lago.” He added, “It was in secured storage, with an additional lock put on as per their request.”

    So the Trump family watched the agents plant the evidence!! DonJon was keeping that secret!

    Trump attorney Christina Bobb acknowledged on Thursday that while surveillance cameras at Mar-a-Lago were shut off for a “very short period of time” while FBI agents spoke to Trump’s legal team, the former president and his family were able to view the entire search through surveillance video.

    “I think the folks in New York — President Trump and his family — they probably had a better view than I did. Because they had the CCTV, they were able to watch,” Bobb told the right-wing outlet Real America’s Voice.

    Bobb said that she was busy speaking with investigators during the search but the Trump family saw “the whole thing.”

    “So they actually have a better idea of what took place inside,” Bobb said.

    You know what the FBI agents probably did? They didn’t have to plant the evidence as they were collecting documents – I bet those wily scoundrels just took boxes to DC and put the incriminating stuff in once there! Or they just lied about what’s in the boxes. In fact, the whole thing was probably a CGI event made by liberal Hollywood types.

      It was a raid. They carried full auto weapons. What would you call it, a friendly visit?
      They had already been there and seen the docs. And yes, all they needed was to ask like they did last time.
      They may very well have planted evidence. They’ve been know to do that Dowd. Should we review the cases where it was done? Since no one on the Trump team was allowed to see what was taken anything is possible.
      If the president says it’s declassified it is! That’s the law.
      Both Obama and Hillary did take stuff. Obama 30 million items and Hillary bleached and destroyed classified papers and digital info AND SHE WAS NOT PRES so she had no authority to do so!!!!

        According to his lawyers, Trump watched the search on CCTV.

        The warrant did not reference classification. It doesn’t matter.

        Trump resisted the prior subpoena.

        Obama’s documents were all legal, Trump’s not.

        Just like Trump is now, Hillary Clinton was investigated by the DOJ. In Trump’s case it’s entirely possible the DOJ will choose not to indict as with Clinton. Do you recall Comey’s news conference criticizing Clinton before the 2016 election?

        BTW, what capital crimes have Pence, Biden and Harris been convicted of? You want to hang innocent Americans?
