Insane: Maryland, Delaware To Allow Non-Physicians To Perform Abortions

This is the kind of overboard insanity from the abortion fanatics that caused the Court to take the case and kill off Roe v Wade. If they had just stayed with Clinton’s “safe, legal, and rare”, instead of treating it like it’s contraception and celebrate it like a child’s birthday

Maryland law expanding who can perform abortion takes effect

A Maryland law taking effect Friday will enable nurse practitioners, nurse midwives and physician assistants who receive special training to perform abortions, as some states seek to expand access to the procedure after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Medical professionals other than physicians with the training can begin providing abortions Friday, though it’s unclear how many will immediately be eligible. Delaware, Connecticut and Washington also enacted laws this year allowing non-physician clinicians to perform abortions.

Dr. Kyle Bukowski, the chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood of Maryland, is training non-physician clinicians to perform safe abortions in Maryland. Bukowski, who also has done such training in California, believes providing abortion access is one of the most significant jobs he has done as a doctor.

“It feels so important,” said the board-certified OB/GYN, who also delivers babies. “That is the difference between them finishing school or not; leaving an abusive relationship or not; being able to take care of their kids or not, keep their job or not, and to be able to fully give back somebody their autonomy is probably the most important work that you can do as a doctor or as a medical provider.”

Delaware Gov. John Carney, a Democrat, signed legislation Wednesday to allow physician assistants, certified nurse practitioners and nurse midwifes to perform abortions before viability. The measure includes various legal protections for abortion providers and patients, including out-of-state residents receiving abortions in Delaware.

Viability in this case means right up till birth. Of course, the same Democrats require all sorts of insane licensing just to cut hair. Killing a baby? They’ll let almost anyone do it.

Fourteen states — California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington — now allow non-physicians to provide abortions, said Elizabeth Nash, state policy analyst for the Guttmacher Institute in New York, a think tank that supports abortion rights.

Insane people.

    The referenced article began:

Abortion rights advocates saw a problem: There’s a limited pool of medical providers who can legally perform abortions. In some states, one solution has been to authorize more providers beyond just physicians.

Let’s tell the truth here: there are hundreds of thousands of physicians who could legally perform abortions, even before Dobbs, but the problem was that very few of them are willing to perform abortions. Even many OB/GYNs who support prenatal infanticide supported other people actually performing the gruesome procedures.

I guess it’s easier to support dropping the Zyklon B cannisters into the “shower rooms” than it is to drop them in yourself.

Planned unParenthood had to suspend abortions in Georgia and Alabama, before Dobbs, because they couldn’t find anyone to perform them.

Jezebel referenced a Reuters profile of Dr Shelly Tien, who travels frequently across state lines to perform abortions:

She’s among an estimated 50 doctors who travel across state lines, according to the National Abortion Federation, to provide abortions in places with limited abortion access.

Now, why would this be necessary?

Abortion clinics in at least six states – including those in Oklahoma and Alabama where Tien works – rely entirely on out-of-state doctors to provide abortions.

Safety concerns and the stigma around abortion keep many local doctors in conservative states from performing abortions, said Zack Gingrich-Gaylord, a spokesperson for Trust Women Oklahoma.

One wonders: would those on the left who have been oh-so-supportive of Taylor Lorenz and The Washington Post doxxing of Chaya Raichik, a Brooklyn real estate saleswoman who anonymously created and runs the Twitter site Libs of TikTok similarly agree that it is legitimate to dox abortionists?

Well, whether they’d agree or not — and don’t wonder about it; of course they’d be appalled! — it seems that the vast, vast majority of American physicians, whether they philosophically support abortion or not, do not want to have anything to do with abortion personally. Perhaps some have done so before, and have become revolted by what they’ve done. Others might wish to avoid what even Reuters called the “stigma around abortion”, perhaps supporting abortion as a concept, but very much preferring to let other people do the dirty work. And perhaps some don’t want their wives to have to introduce them as, “My husband, Dr Jones, the abortionist.”

So now the left want to increase the pool of potential abortionists, because not enough physicians who could slaughter the innocents want to do so.

Almost all abortions are performed by 12 weeks gestation.

Now, half of all abortions are “medication abortions” where the girl/woman takes a combination of two pills and menstruates at home within a day or so.

This is why reactionary wingers are working overtime to ban telemedicine visits related to terminating a pregnancy (Google: noem telemedicine). The “state” will need to monitor internet/telephone usage and the US mail/Fedex delivery of FDA-approved medicines. FREEDOM! The “state” may find it necessary to monitor the menstrual cycles of girls/women to find when they “miss” a menstrual period, otherwise it will be impossible to know when/if they become pregnant. FREEDOM! And again, we’ve heard no credible plans to differentiate between miscarriages (30-50% of all conceptions!!) and abortions. FREEDOM! This should all be fun. Except for every American girl and woman.

Senate candidate and occasional Missouri AG, Eric Schmidt*, stated that Missouri will NOT prosecute distributors of Plan B, a post-coitus abortifacient, likely because he has yet to be told how it works. Other states are discussing whether to ban the medicine, which is available without a prescription. EVERY woman should have Plan B and take it EVERY time after having intercourse when she doesn’t intend to become pregnant. In most cases this will prevent the zygote from implanting in the uterine lining.

Surprisingly, no state has a plan to dissuade sperm donors** from ejaculating inside girls and women! Only the girls/women and service providers are to be punished.

*Schmidt is running well behind former MO Gov Eric Greitens who was forced to resign after accusations of tying up his hair stylist mistress and abusing her, abusing his wife and abusing his children. This was too much even for Missouri Republican politicians to stomach, but unsurprisingly Missouri Republican voters have rallied around him.

Why does the media not ask conservative men if they’ve been vasectomized? Strange, isn’t it?

Mx Teach: If they had just stayed with Clinton’s “safe, legal, and rare”, instead of treating it like it’s contraception and celebrate it like a child’s birthday

Reality: The abortion rate continues to drop in the US. Abortions peaked (0.06/100K) during the George H.W. Bush years and has dropped to less than 50% (0.03/100K) of the peak since. The reasons could be anti-abortion laws and/or a need for fewer abortions.

Many more “babies” are lost as 30-50% of zygotes/embryos are lost before successful implantation in the endometrium occurs!

Asking of Mx TEACH, “If the left-wing push for abortions and using abortion as contraception is advancing, then why is the abortion rate dropping so drastically?”

  4. Elwood P. Dowd says:

If Mx Teach had a legitimate point to make he wouldn’t have to lie to his hapless readers.

Has Mx Teach had is vasectomy yet?

Mx Teach: Viability in this case means right up till (sic) birth. (That’s a lie. Viability is defined by the states and is typically 20-24 weeks of gestation. Almost all abortions are performed by 12 weeks gestation.)

Mx Teach: Of course, the same Democrats require all sorts of insane licensing just to cut hair*. Killing a baby? They’ll let almost anyone do it. (That’s a lie. Physician assistants, certified nurse practitioners and nurse midwifes are trained and certified.)

We fully understand the emotional/religious nature associated with abortion. If an emotional/religious person feels that a fertilized egg is a baby and that the expulsion of that egg is murder, there is little to assuage their emotions. They feel that their cause is so just that it excuses not just lying, but even violence.

Anyway, since American rights are reserved to the states not the feds, why is Mx Teach concerned about what Maryland and Delaware do? Is he interested in banning abortions nationwide? Is arguing “states’ rights” a ruse?

*Note too that there are over 2 billion haircuts in the US each year but less than 1 million abortions.

Perhaps Rimjob enjoys wallowing in his own insufferable arrogance of being constantly wrong.
For what other reason would the dipshit continue to post such tripe?

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Anyone who actually feels/believes the 2020 election was “stolen” will fall for anything.

        • drowningpuppies says:

And yes, the dipshit continues to wallow.

          Bwaha! Lolgf

  5. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Also, Teach, US states have the right to determine who can and cannot prescribe medicines. Nurse practitioners can prescribe medicines, including abortion pills, in all 50 states. PAs can prescribe medicines in all states but FL and KY.

Certainly, Mr Teach doesn’t oppose states’ rights, does he?

I have when I was 26. And at 3pm I’m picking up a girl to take her cruising in the Gulf. We’ll come back late tonight and tomorrow I’m taking her to my parents in Palm Beach for dinner. Nice young Cuban chick.

“Or have you sworn of sex with female humans?”

Here in the real world we call them women. Only people who don’t understand science would avoid the word. Anybody who believes the 2000 election wasn’t stolen after all the bullshit the commies on the left have gone through to avoid a audit must believe men can menstruate and have babies. The liars are the deniers. All you fascist bastards ever had to do was validate the election with an audit in about 5 states in question but your lies and cover up have proved we are right.

The minds of the fascist left are so closed they can’t eve call a woman a woman. What a bunch of morons.
