NY Times Calls Trump An Authoritarian For Declassifying Documents

Mind you, this is not in the opinion section, but called “news analysis” in the politics section

From the link

President Trump’s order to his secretary of state to declassify thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails, along with his insistence that his attorney general issue indictments against Barack Obama and Joseph R. Biden Jr., takes his presidency into new territory — until now, occupied by leaders with names like Putin, Xi and Erdogan.

Mr. Trump has long demanded — quite publicly, often on Twitter — that his most senior cabinet members use the power of their office to pursue political enemies. But his appeals this week, as he trailed badly in the polls and was desperate to turn the national conversation away from the coronavirus, were so blatant that one had to look to authoritarian nations to make comparisons.

He took a step even Richard M. Nixon avoided in his most desperate days: openly ordering direct, immediate government action against specific opponents, timed to serve his re-election campaign. (snip)

Now he is talking about it, almost daily. He is making it clear that prosecutions, like vaccines for the coronavirus, are useless to him if they come after Nov. 3. He has declared, without evidence, that there is already plenty of proof that Mr. Obama, Mr. Biden and Mrs. Clinton, among others, were fueling the charges that his campaign had links to Russia — what he calls “the Russia hoax.” And he has pressured his secretary of state to agree to release more of Mrs. Clinton’s emails before the election, reprising a yearslong fixation despite having defeated her four years ago.

But, see, there is plenty of actual evidence that it was a hoax, that it was started by the Hillary campaign, and that Obama-Biden and Russia knew about it. And, see, there was a time when a news outlet would smell blood in the water when it came to declassifying government documents that show malfeasance, even criminal activity, and they would swarm and attack.

Now? They defend those of their own party. Any shred of integrity and neutrality is gone like a fart in the wind. There was no Russian collusion by the Trump campaign or Trump. It was made up. That’s why nuts like Adam Schiff could never show their “rock solid evidence.” That’s why Mueller never found anything.

Seriously, what if I told you a president

  • targeted political rivals using the IRS and DOJ
  • got the DOJ to back off investigating political allies
  • blew off the law to give essentially amnesty to millions of illegals
  • instituted a reg that gave feds even more power over energy sector
  • instituted a reg that gave feds control over all waterways in US, including ponds in your backyard
  • signed a document pledging US money for ‘climate change’ which avoided the legislative body
  • Made a deal with Iran that avoided the duly elected legislative body
  • dictated how schools must allow boys claiming to be girls in the girls locker rooms and showers or they’d lose federal money
  • signed a law giving feds more power over your health insurance and care
  • same law gave feds more power over student loans
  • instituted a contraceptive and abortifacient mandate, despite appearing nowhere in the Affordable Care Act
  • refused to defend duly passed laws by Congress and signed by previous presidents
  • Continuously took more power for the feds and away from the states and municipalities
  • ruled by his pen
  • instituted rules and regs willy nilly
  • used the national press as his personal Pravda
  • and more

That’s the guy people say is freedom loving, while the guy who did away with that stuff, is trying to expose gov’t abuse, and get rid of burdensome gov regs is called an authoritarian/dictator. And these same media folks did all they could to defend the Big Government actions of Obama-Biden and protect them.

The reason Trump is revealing all these records NOW, is because IF he loses the election they will be out there. Copied, printed and in the hands of millions of people. All of them that show Biden, Obama, Schiff and Nadler and the FBI and HRC and so many more were all in a plot to overthrow the government of the United States of America.

It is why Obama told his people after the election to calm down he has people in place to deal with Trump. Boy was he not kidding.

Now the records are in the hands of the people. Many are being offered into the congressional election.

THEY CANNOT just go missing and someone says uh we can’t find HRC’s emails which the government now has and is releasing at a furious pace so if BIDEN or some bureaucrat decides to protect political interests they don’t go missing again.

Even if Trump and the GOP lose in 2020, by the time we unpack all this information it will infuriate the right to march in the streets every day for two years like the tea party did which saw Obama lose 50 house seats and the senate flip to the GOP.

Trump promised to expose government corruption. And it seems that most of that corruption is coming from the Demonrats.

NYT: …his insistence that his attorney general issue indictments against Barack Obama and Joseph R. Biden Jr., takes his presidency into new territory

President Obama chose NOT to investigate President Bush, VP Cheney or others in their administration for the run up to the Iraq invasion.

*President Donald Trump is livid at his Attorney General, Bill Barr, over reports that no indictments of Obama officials will be handed down prior to the election.

Appearing on The Rush Limbaugh Show Friday, the syndicated radio host alerted the president to a recent report from Axios which indicated that the review of the origins of the Russia investigation, being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham, will not be complete prior to the election.

Upon hearing the news, Trump — who has been calling for former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and others to be indicted following the probe — absolutely unleashed on his attorney general.

“I’m very disappointed,” Trump said. “I think it’s a terrible thing. And I’ll say it to his face … I think it’s a disgrace. It’s an embarrassment.”

“This is what I mean with the Republicans,” Trump said. “They don’t play the tough game. If this were the other side. You would’ve had 25 people in jail for the rest of their lives.”*

One of his few smart moves. Trump was lied to by Zippy’s boy, George Tenet (although there were WMDs that were later used by IS)

Jeffery just breathes a sigh of relief.

Absolutely right and why the Demos are scared of him. A lot of people, myself included, have been waiting better than 50 years for a guy who would fight back. It’s why I supported him in the primaries and why I will always support him. I am sick of Whigs and “gentlemen” who let the Demos have their way.

The Boil on Porter’s Butt, aka formwiz, aka Sibley couldn’t be more wrong. If Mr. Trump were to force Bill Barr to indict President Obama and VP Biden, Trump would be run out of town on a rail. If Trump were as strong as his worshipers imagine he would have Obama, Biden, Harris et al killed as his idols Putin, Erdogan and Kim would.

If Mr. Trump were to force Bill Barr to indict President Obama and VP Biden, Trump would be run out of town on a rail.

By whom, exactly? He would be merely expecting the law to be enforced. I seem to remember the Left having a conniption when Nixon tried to stop the AG from handing down indictments.

But that’s the point. The only ones who would want to run him out of town on a rail (white supremacist much?) would be the Deep State. The rest of the country would cheer.

For somebody who’s been in so much trouble with the law, one would think you actually know that.

If Trump were as strong as his worshipers imagine he would have Obama, Biden, Harris et al killed as his idols Putin, Erdogan and Kim would.

          Now you’re just projecting again.

That’s what you want done with all of us. There your idols, not ours.

Yes Mr. Elwood the dems have tried to put in jail as many as they can including your insistence that Trump will be tried and executed after leaving office.

Yet the GOP twiddles their thumbs. Both sides are playing out the clock. Both sides believe Trump will lose. Both side believe they want them some more swamp water. Both sides are cowardly and filled with personal ambitions that only can be satisfied if Trump is gone.

Trump was not kidding when he said “They are coming for you, but unfortunately I am in the way”

      • Est1950 says:

How many republicans were put in jail by the LEFT. Literally by the left.

        Watergate. A GOP PRESIDENT.

40 government officials indicted or jailed
H.R. Haldeman and John Erlichman (White House staff), resigned 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed
John Dean (White House legal counsel), sacked 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed
John Mitchell, Attorney-General and Chairman of the Committee to Re-elect the President (CREEP), jailed
Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy (ex-White House staff), planned the Watergate break-in, both jailed
Charles Colson, special counsel to the President, jailed
James McCord (Security Director of CREEP), jailed

TRUMP. A GOP PRESIDENT. IMPEACHED ON FALSE CHARGES:

        Michael Cohen
        Michael Flynn
        Rick Gates
        Paul Manafort
        George Popadoupolus
        Roger Stone

        All IMPRISONED.

        George W. Bush GOP PRESIDENT.

Scott Bloch (R) United States Special Counsel, pleaded guilty to criminal contempt of Congress for “willfully and unlawfully withholding pertinent information from a House Committee
investigating his decision to have several government computers wiped….” Bloch was sentenced to one day in jail and two years’ probation, and also ordered him to pay a $5,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service

NOTICE HE DID THE SAME THING AS HRC and was TRIED AND CONVICTED BY THE LEFT. YET HRC is untouchable.

Don’t lecture us Elwood. The left is the party that is vindictive and puts people in jail. Not the right.

What does the surrender monkey have to say about Trump pulling all the US troops out of Afghanistan
Is that “cut and run” ?
    Or
    “The tipping point”
Was it a mistake to try and occupy Afghanistan ?

  5. Kye says:

Thanks drowningpuppies, you made that clear as mud. I’ve been commenting here for what, 4-5 years and I never heard of Johnny Retard of Queens and although I have seen the term “surrender monkey” used before I still have no idea to whom it refers. I guess I assumed Trump was the surrender monkey for pulling American troops out of Democrat backed wars and countries. Not wanting American soldiers to die in Afghanistan being considered a surrender I suppose.

We should never have been in Afghanistan in my opinion. Like Hitler should have learned not to invade Russia from Napoleon, we should learned by the failed Russian assault on Afghanistan. If one wants to attack a country like Afghanistan one must be prepared to rely on nuclear weapons from the sky not boots on the ground.

  6. formwiz says:

Looks like Gropin’ Joe has hit that 60 degree downgrade.

In Toledo, he refers to Romney as “some Mormon guy, the governor”, then tells the crowd, “I’m running as a proud Democrat For the Senate”.

Having made his speech maskless (oh, the horror), he then proceeded to cough in his hand.

And this is how he looks.

    Time to get the hook.

    • dachs_dude says:

Biden looks like he’s very ill here.

Maybe the drugs they’re giving him to keep him alert are having an affect on him.

This election is Trump vs Harris.
