Democrats Upset Over GOP Plans To Tighten Voting Laws

Obviously, any attempts to reduce voting fraud would handicap Democrats

Democrats and Republicans are clashing in state capitals across the country as GOP-controlled legislatures push proposals to tighten voting requirements — a move prominent critics have decried as a throwback to Jim Crow laws.

The proposals include measures in nearly three-dozen states to either require voters to show ID before casting their ballots or strengthen existing voter ID laws. Other states have moved to tighten the window for early voting and put new restrictions on whether and when convicted felons can vote.

The proposals are not attracting anywhere near as much attention as state efforts to strengthen immigration laws, cut back on union benefits and balance budgets, but Democrats in recent weeks have launched somewhat of a campaign against them at the national level. They claim Republicans are trying to skew the next election, while limiting the right to vote in the process.

Former President Bill Clinton was the latest to weigh in Wednesday, accusing Republicans of trying to “disenfranchise” minority voters who would “tend to vote for Democrats.”

For a Party that still whines about the 2000 election being stolen, and agitated for stronger voting laws post 2000 and 2004, you’d think they would be on-board with this. Alas, it is hard to get the dead and pets to show proper ID at the voting booth. And tightening rules on early voting, as well as mail in ballots, would further handicap the cheating schemes Democrats come up with (BTW, for the second straight presidential election year, I received in the mail a registration for someone who doesn’t live at my address. The person actually lives in another NC city a few hours away, and is registered….Democrat!)

Of course, this is all about “raaaaacism”. Seriously, Dems, you need to come up with a new talking point. This one is as old as talking about carrying an onion on your belt.

That’s a lotta illegal votes for the Dems down the drain. No wonder obama is pushing hard for amnesty and other such stuff.
