Aw, poor Harry Reid, having to say “the hell with it” on his smack BP around and create no energy bill
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Tuesday yanked the oil-spill response bill for the summer, giving Democrats a talking point about GOP obstruction even though some of their own members were blocking it.
There are plenty of “blame Republicans” quotes for Harry Long Face, yet, he couldn’t get the support of many Senators in his own party, including Mary Landrieu and Mark Begich. As I pointed out, this bill mandates quite a bit, yet, creates no energy, and only a few government jobs, though it does smack BP around and cause lots of problems for those who want to drill offshore.
Reid had planned to hold debates and votes on competing Democratic and Republican spill plans Wednesday, less than a week after the House passed its own spill response package.
Oh, I see. He was scared that the GOP plans would expose his own secretly crafted legislation up for the pure idiocy it is.
“The truth is he saw the writing on the wall. The Republican proposal is far more responsible and far less costly than the Democrat bill,†she said. “The majority leader didn’t pull his bill because of Republican opposition; he pulled it because his fellow Democrats were deserting him, planning to vote against it, and supported the concepts of the Republican bill.â€
Yup. Nuff said.
