E.P.A. Is About To Raise Your Standard Cost Of Living

Hey hey hey, good timing! Deep recession, big job losses, housing problems, the first of many massive bills that pretty much spend money that won’t help, but, despite little to no warming over the last 10+ years, let’s let the E.P.A. regulate natural gasses and make the economy worse and your lives more expensive

The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to act for the first time to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that scientists blame for the warming of the planet, according to top Obama administration officials.

The decision, which most likely would play out in stages over a period of months, would have a profound impact on transportation, manufacturing costs and how utilities generate power. It could accelerate the progress of energy and climate change legislation in Congress and form a basis for the United States’ negotiating position at United Nations climate talks set for December in Copenhagen.

Lisa P. Jackson, the new E.P.A. administrator, said in an interview that she had asked her staff to review the latest scientific evidence and prepare the documentation for a so-called endangerment finding. Ms. Jackson said she had not decided to issue such a finding but she pointedly noted that the second anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Massachusetts v. E.P.A., is April 2, and there is the wide expectation that she will act by then.

Oh, this should be good. I’m sure she will look at all the actual science, and make an informed decision. Yeah, right. Obama wants AGW action, despite the science, since, like others, he bases his feelings on the notion that it must be Man’s fault, we are bad, America is bad, and it is all Man’s fault. He won’t make changes in his own lifestyle (are there many Believers that actually do change their lifestyles?) but he sure doesn’t mind saddling you with a massive, forced change in your lifestyle. And the costs for basically everything.

But, hey, we should have all confidence in Jackson, because she did such a good job as head of New Jersey’s Dept. Of Environmental Protection. She did such a great job that Pres. Bush had to have the federal EPA step in and manage the Superfund sites, due to Jackson’s mismanagement.

Interestingly, the Most Transparent and Accountable Administration in World History will not ask Congress to pass these new regulations.  Getting the People’s Branch involved apparently is too time-consuming and tiresome.  Instead, the EPA will just start issuing regulations, and will ask us to trust them to be reasonable.
