Jamie Gorelick For Attorney General??????

Hope! Change! Looking forward, not back! Changing the landscape of Washington! A new way of doing business! Obama’s asking you to Believe in his ability to bring real change to Washington. The kind of change that brings us back to the disasterous wall between law enforcement and intelligence (via Patterico)

As he prepares to take office, President-elect Barack Obama is relying on a small team of advisers who will lead his transition operation and help choose the members of a new Obama administration. Following is part of a series of profiles of potential members of the administration.

Name: Jamie Gorelick

Being considered for: Attorney general

Carries as baggage: Her work at Fannie Mae, which had to be bailed out by the government in September as part of a $200 billion deal. Ms. Gorelick left the company just as it was coming under attack for huge accounting failures. She has also drawn criticism for her role at the Justice Department, in which she allegedly created an intelligence “wall” that hindered counterterrorism agents in the years before the Sept. 11 attacks.

There is no “alleged” about it, NY Times, which also takes the time to take a snarky shot at “Conservative bloggers” who “have already begun trying to derail Ms. Gorelick’s possible nomination as attorney general, pointing to her experiences at both Fannie Mae and the Sept. 11 commission.” Gee, ya think there is a reason for that, Grey Lady?

PS: Interesting that this information is coming out at the same time that there are reports out of Yemen of a new, massive al Qaeda attack in the works, which Jane Novak, the blogosphere expert on Yemen, thinks is credible. And just days after Barry was elected. A little bit of conspiracy for ya.
