Chapel Hill Psycho Tells Us Why

Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar had his first day in court on Monday, and showed the face of modern Islam. Excerpts from the News and Observer story, including from the 911 tape when he called the police, which you can listen to at the same link:

“I’m thankful you’re here to give me this trial and to learn more about the will of Allah,” he told the judge in court.

When asked by reporters outside the courthouse whether he intended to kill his targets, Taheri-azar said, “Yes.”

Court documents said Taheri-azar told a UNC-CH police detective that “people all over the world are being killed in war and now it is the people in the United States[‘] turn to be killed.” Police say he also told them he intended to kill people when he drove into The Pit, a campus gathering spot.

“Really, it’s to punish the government of the United States for their actions around the world,” he told the dispatcher.

He may be of Iranian descent, however, he was American bred his whole life. Does he not have compassion for all the people hurt and killed in attacks by his fellow wacko’s? Take a look at the right hand sidebar, up near the top. See the box about Terrorist attacks since 9/11? Not looking pretty, eh? And that is only the number of attacks. It doesn’t give you the number of dead and wounded.

  1. Maggie says:

Not going to be able to charge him with being a terrorist, I’m afraid.

BUT he certainly seems to be the perfect candidate for ‘HATE CRIMES’ charges….

Or are there some stupid laws on the books that say it’s OK to hate Americans?

  2. Well, being Berkley East, that have to be able to do that.
