Nikki Haley’s Greeting Sends Democrats Up Bat Pole

This story also highlights what miserable, negative people Democrats are

(USA Today) The first thing South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley wants people to hear when they call a state agency is a cheery “It’s a great day in South Carolina! How may I help you?”

That mandated greeting is rubbing a pair of Democratic lawmakers the wrong way. They have proposed doing away with the governor’s script as long as certain economic factors hold true. Among them:

•The state’s unemployment rate is 5% or higher.

•All citizens of the state don’t have health insurance.

• School funding “is not sufficient to ensure that all students are prepared for the 21st century.”

Seriously, this is what Democrats are worried about, a cheerful greeting? Enough so that they are pushing actual legislation? Said Democrats, state Rep. John Richard King and state Rep. Wendell Gilliard, must be carpet baggers, and unable to understand Southern politeness.

I wonder when these two gents will call for Obama to stop golfing, taking vacations, and campaigning? At least till unemployment goes below 6%, the Democrat led Senate passes an actual budget, and the deficit is below $500 billion.

As a Charlestonian, I can tell you that Wendall is not the sharpest tool in th shed, bless his heart.

  3. Heh! And we all know what the saying “bless his heart” really means down here in the South.
