There’s Almost No Such Thing As A “Climate Haven” Or Something

For those of us who aren’t cultists, we call it weather

Looking for a US ‘climate haven’ away from disaster risks? Good luck finding one

Southeast Michigan seemed like the perfect “climate haven.”

“My family has owned my home since the ‘60s. … Even when my dad was a kid and lived there, no floods, no floods, no floods, no floods. Until [2021],” one southeast Michigan resident told us. That June, a storm dumped more than 6 inches of rain on the region, overloading stormwater systems and flooding homes.

That sense of living through unexpected and unprecedented disasters resonates with more Americans each year, we have found in our research into the past, present and future of risk and resilience.

An analysis of federal disaster declarations for weather-related events puts more data behind the fears – the average number of disaster declarations has skyrocketed since 2000 to nearly twice that of the preceding 20-year period.

It couldn’t possibly be due to presidents and governors declaring emergencies for cool, sweet, federal money, right? Because it used to be a rare thing, states just dealt with it, and it was only the biggest of big that involved Los Federales. Now it’s for every semi-decent storm. Oh, and there are a heck of a lot more people and buildings. And Democrats who create conditions for disasters, like the Malibu wildfire.

As people question how livable the world will be in a warming future, a narrative around climate migration and “climate havens” has emerged.

These “climate havens” are areas touted by researcherspublic officials and city planners as natural refuges from extreme climate conditions. Some climate havens are already welcoming people escaping the effects of climate change elsewhere. Many have affordable housing and legacy infrastructure from their larger populations before the mid-20th century, when people began to leave as industries disappeared.

But they aren’t disaster-proof – or necessarily ready for the changing climate.

Let’s just say that the cult article is saying that all those places that are supposedly havens are doomed

Some of the most cited “havens” in research by national organizations and in news media are older cities in the Great Lakes region, upper Midwest and Northeast. They include Ann Arbor, Michigan; Duluth, Minnesota; Minneapolis; Buffalo, New York; Burlington, Vermont; and Madison, Wisconsin.

Yet each of these cities will likely have to contend with some of the greatest temperature increases in the country in the coming years. Warmer air also has a higher capacity to hold water vapor, causing more frequent, intense and longer duration storms.

It’s always doom. It’s rather tedious. Fortunately, I just roll my eyes and laugh at the nuts, otherwise I’d have to start drinking after reading all this doom and gloom.

Hamas Sorta Kinda Agrees To Trump Peace Plan

With all sorts of conditions

Hamas agrees to release all Israeli hostages per Trump Gaza peace deal — but only under certain conditions

Hamas on Friday agreed to release all Israeli hostages — living and dead — but wants to negotiate the other terms of President Trump’s comprehensive peace deal even after the commander in chief said there was “not much” room for discussion.

In a statement, the terror group said it had held “in-depth consultations … to reach a responsible position in dealing with” Trump’s proposal for an end to the fighting in Gaza, which is set to enter its third year Tuesday.

“Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE,” Trump said in a statement posted to his Truth Social page.

The commander in chief later posted a short video on Truth, calling Friday a “very special, maybe unprecedented” day, while thanking countries including Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan for their help in hammering out the proposed peace deal.

But

[Hamas] also said it would release the hostages once “field conditions are met” — meaning once Israel pulled back its forces to the lines of engagement set forth in Trump’s peace plan. The IDF is currently well into Gaza, closing in on Gaza City.

Hamas also said that releasing the hostages within 72 hours is “unrealistic”. It wasn’t unrealistic when they took them hostage, eh?

“No disarmament, keeping Gaza under Palestinian control, and tying hostage release to negotiations, along with other problems,” Graham wrote on X.

“This is, in essence, a rejection by Hamas of President Trump’s ‘take it or leave it’ proposal.”

Obviously, Graham is a warhawk, but, he’s kinda right. It seems as if Hamas is playing for time. Trump is telling Israel to stop bombing, however, you can bet if Hamas looks like they’re playing time games, Trump will tell Israel to go harder.

The Islamic group also said it was willing to hand administrative control of Gaza to an independent Palestinian body — provided it is formed by national consensus and backed by Arab and Islamic states, according to a statement.

That is one of the things Graham is tweeting about. Putting hardcore Islamists who are happy to attack Jews and Israel in charge is a non-starter.

House Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) released a statement which read: “I am relieved that both Israel’s government and Hamas’s leadership have finally agreed that this war must come to an end, with the hostages released, military operations stopped, and humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians surged.”

“At this precarious stage, it is vital that both parties negotiate in good faith to bridge the remaining issues and reach a lasting agreement,” Goldman said.

Moron. Hamas is really in no position to negotiate. But, the Hamas caucus in the Democrat party seem to hate Jews and Israel.

You Caused 36% Of Damage From Typhoon Ragasa

You refused to move into a 200 square foot home, eat bugs, and shower once a week, so, here we are

Climate change behind 36% of damage inflicted by Typhoon Ragasa in China

After peaking as a Category 5 storm with 160 mph winds, Super Typhoon Ragasa made landfall in the southern Chinese city of Yangjiang in Guangdong Province on September 24 as a Category 3 storm with winds of 120 mph (195 km/h). Ragasa is being blamed for at least 29 deaths and damages in the hundreds of millions of dollars, according to insurance broker Aon. A study released today as part of a new initiative at Imperial College London called the Climate Damage Tracker, which calculates the human and economic costs of climate change, found that climate change boosted Typhoon Ragasa’s winds by 7% and rainfall by 12% at landfall. This is equivalent to intensifying the storm from a weak to a strong Category 3. These factors combined to increase Ragasa’s damages by 36%, the scientists said.

The scientists found that in a cooler world without climate change, similar wind speeds would be expected about once every 33 years. But today, with 1.3 degrees Celsius (2.3°F) of global warming, Ragasa’s intense winds have become 49% more likely and are now expected about once every 17 years. Ragasa’s heavy rains could have been expected in the region about once every 8.8 years in the pre-industrial climate, but today, they are expected every 6.7 years.

Their computer models told them this barely a week after landfall. A very specific number. Yup, a cult.

But, what if this is mostly natural, and the number is true? Well, such is life on Earth.

Israeli Report: Global Sumud Flotilla Had No Actual Aid, Just Propaganda For Hamas

The heck you say!

Foreign Ministry: Flotilla to Gaza had no humanitarian supplies

None of the 40 vessels participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla, which Israel intercepted on Yom Kippur, was carrying humanitarian aid, according to the Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The ministry also released a video by the Israeli Police featuring spokesperson Dean Elsdunne showing the empty interior of one of the flotilla’s largest vessels.

The spokesperson points out that the complete lack of aid explains why the organisers refused Israel’s and multiple countries’ offer to hand over the aid and avoid entering an active war zone and breaking the law.

“It was never about bringing aid to Gaza. It was about the headlines and social media followings”, Elsdunne says in the video.

Maybe that’s why they refused all those offers from Italy, Israel, and other countries to take the “aid” to Gaza?

OK, in fairness, it is one boat being shown. But, one of the largest, and they can’t find anything? Maybe it’s because they threw it all overboard knowing they would be boarded?

Too Bad: Trump Admin Cancels $500 Million For Colorado Climate (scam) Initiative

Hey, if Colorado wants to do this they can tax their own people, right? Maybe if they weren’t spending all that money on illegals (Denver spent around $350 million through November 2024)

Trump admin cuts $500M for Colorado climate change initiatives

Colorado is set to lose $500 million in federal dollars to address climate change after the Trump administration announced the cancellation of “funding to fuel the Left’s climate agenda.”

Why it matters: Rescinding the grants is aimed at gutting the Colorado Energy Office.

The Polis administration needs the money to meet its goals for reducing greenhouse gas pollution.

The big picture: The directive from White House budget chief Russ Vought and the Energy Department — led by Denver energy company executive Chris Wright — specifically targets 223 projects in 16 Democratic states.

Zoom in: In Colorado, at least 34 projects worth more than a half-billion dollars are being canceled. That includes money awarded to the state’s energy office, universities and energy companies, Colorado officials said.

Oh, well. Guess you have a choice: raise taxes or stop paying for illegals. Or, simply move on from the doomsday scam.

Democrats Say They Do Not Want Illegals To Have Government Healthcare

Per Democrats and their pet media

The facts behind the government shutdown debate over health care and immigrants in the U.S. illegally

One of the main lines of attack the White House and Republican lawmakers have leveled against Democrats amid the government shutdown is the claim that Democratic lawmakers want to give immigrants in the U.S. illegally free health care — which Democrats deny.

“Democrats are holding the American government HOSTAGE so they can give FREE health care to ILLEGAL ALIENS,” House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, said on social media Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance accused Democrats of wanting to “take from the American people in order to give taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal immigrants.” (snip)

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act — passed by lawmakers and signed by President Trump over the summer — significantly restricted noncitizen eligibility for Medicaid coverage, making it only accessible to lawful permanent residents, Cubans and Haitians who entered the U.S. legally and noncitizens from several Pacific islands. -(snip)

The Democrats’ funding proposal would restore noncitizen eligibility for Medicaid to the longstanding pre-2025 rules, reopening access for the classes of immigrants who were carved out earlier this year. All of those immigrants are in the U.S. either legally or with the government’s permission.

So, that’s the Democrats line. Newsweek and Poltifact try it. This goes on and on and on. But, what’s the real line

Unearthed debate clip goes viral against Dems as illegal immigrant health coverage becomes top issue

As the federal government shutdown continues, a clip from the 2019 Democratic presidential primary went viral when the candidates were asked if they support providing healthcare to those in the country illegally.

“Is JD Vance a liar or just woefully ignorant when claiming that Democrats want to give health benefits to undocumented immigrants?” disgraced ex-Democratic Minnesota Sen. Al Franken posted to X on Wednesday, leading to the clip being posted in the comments by one user.

“Raise your hand if your government plan would provide coverage for undocumented immigrants,” NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie asked while moderating the June 2019 debate followed by all ten Democrats on stage raising their hands.

Oh, and then

Part of the ongoing government shutdown debate centers on subsidies for the Affordable Care Act, which would lead to a rise in premiums that opponents say prove that the program is unsustainable.

Illegal immigrants are unable to get insurance on the ACA marketplace, but Emergency Medicaid is covered as well as several states that use state taxpayer dollars for illegal immigrants to enroll in Medicaid.

The Dems claim that most of the money comes from state coffers. Like 80%. So, that means 20% is federal money. And it means that Democrats do want, in fact, illegals to get healthcare.

Your Fault: Hotcoldwetdry Threatens ALL!!!!!!! Migratory Sea Species

Because this is the first time the climate has ever changed, you know. There’s never been warm or cool periods

Climate change is threatening all of the ocean’s migratory species

Climate change is negatively impacting migratory species across the board, a new report has warned this week, altering the ranges, shrinking the habitats, and threatening the ecosystems across which all migratory species occupy throughout their lifecycles.

Confirming long-held understandings about the effects of global warming, extreme weather events, and shifting water systems; findings from a major workshop conducted by the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals has concluded that all migratory species are now at risk.

Unsurprisingly, whales are at risk again with climate change found to be altering whale migrations, shrinking their prey, and negatively impacting upon reproduction rates. The report highlights that among them, it is the North Atlantic right whale that is ‘especially vulnerable’, a species now being forced to make migratory detours into dangerous pockets of the ocean – all driven by warming seas.

Migratory species serve as critical links in the ecosystems that sustain life on Earth. From forest elephants that contribute to carbon storage capacity in the jungles, to whales that transport essential nutrients across ocean basins – migratory species are vital in maintaining healthy ecosystems that are resilient and contribute to climate change mitigation.

However, because such species rely on habitats that span continents and seasons, environmental changes in one region can trigger cascading effects thousands of miles away, under-scoring the global nature of conservation challenges.

Sigh. It’s always some sort of Doom with these people. These species and such survived the previous Holocene warm periods and cool periods…well, most did, and will do just fine with this minor warm period. The cult just can’t help themselves in always looking at the utter worst doom they can possibly think of. And blame you.

And, the thing is, while ocean pollution has decreased, humanity could always do better. Instead of this absurd focus on Hotcoldwetdry we should focus on real environmental issues.
