Speaking of Donny Destructo’s fiasco’s… This one has fallen off the radar – daily distractions for the win!!
The Supremme’s ordered Donny’s Treaury Dept to refund some $50 BILLION (so far) in illegal tariff collections. This goes to corporations, not to the working class folks who paid (and still pay) higher prices. We pay tariffs (taxes) on consumer products and the Supremes order it be paid back! To corporations!!! Is this a great country or what?
Dumb Donny kept telling We, The People, falsely, that the exporters (e.g., China) was paying the tariffs when actually it’s the importers and customers. The tariffs are a regressive consumption tax that amounted to a half TRILLION dollars! Yes, yes, tariffs DO help United States’ manufacturers’ competitiveness – but it’s essentially another example of the working class subsidizing the weathy! Classic conservatism.
We still import more goods and services than we export, i.e., we still have a trade deficit. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit was $901.5 billion for the full year 2025, a marginal decrease of $2.1 billion (or 0.2%) compared to 2024. The top imported products are pharmaceutical preparations, computers, passenger cars, crude oil, and computer accessories.
Fortunately, consumer inflation has dropped to only about double the Fed’s target. Donny wants to boost inflation by cutting interest rates.
