Hamas Loving Senate Democrats Introduce Resolution Recognizing Palestinian State

Democratic-led US Senate resolution seeks recognition of Palestinian state

A group of U.S. senators introduced on Thursday the first Senate resolution to urge recognition of a Palestinian state, further signaling a shift in Washington sentiment toward Israel nearly two years into its war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The Democratic-led measure is unlikely to pass the chamber where President Donald Trump’s Republicans have a 53-47 majority. Trump said on Thursday he disagreed with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over whether to recognize a Palestinian state and no Republicans have joined efforts to do so.

Democrat Jeff Merkley of Oregon, who is leading the effort, said in a statement: “America has a responsibility to lead, and the time to act is now.”

The resolution urges U.S. recognition of a demilitarized Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel and would offer both sides hope while boosting prospects for peace, Merkley said.

In the House of Representatives, Ro Khanna of California is circulating a letter hoping to rally support for recognition of Palestinian statehood.

Demilitarized? Good luck with that. The only way that happens is if Israel is allowed to finish the job in Gaza. Still, after that the violent, Jew hating Palestinians will surely see a resurgence of Hamas. Or Hezbollah. Or some Islamic terrorist group. Democrats are essentially rewarding Hamas and the Palestinians they rule and who support them for a terrorist attack against civilians. For decades of terrorist attacks.

The Palestinian death toll from the war surpassed 65,000 on Wednesday, Gaza health authorities say. About 1,200 people were killed in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack that triggered the war and 251 were taken hostage, according to Israeli tallies.

Israel says 48 hostages remain in Gaza and around 20 are still alive.

The Gaza “health authorities” are Hamas. This is who Democrats are listening to. Offering statehood as a reward for horrendous behavior is a bad idea. But, the Democrat base hates Israel and hates Jews, so, this resolution will make them happy.

Hageman, Tiffany Introduce Bill To Protect US From Climate (scam) Reparations

We know which way the Democrats will vote on this: will all the Republicans in Congress vote for it, or, will a few get squishy?

Congresswoman Hageman Introduces Legislation to Protect the American Taxpayer from Climate Change Reparations

Today, Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (WY-AL), alongside Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07), introduced legislation protecting the American taxpayer from attempts by international courts to impose climate change reparations on the U.S.

In July, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), one of the six principal organs of the United Nations (UN), issued an advisory opinion contending that international climate change treaties are binding on UN member states, and that breaching these agreements is an “international wrongful act.” According to the ICJ, countries that produce or consume fossil fuels could be subject to orders demanding they cease all “climate change” activities and pay full reparations to harmed nations.

Reps. Hageman and Tiffany’s bill would block the use of federal funds to pay a demand for reparations issued by any international bodies or courts for alleged violations of international law.

“The UN’s war on affordable and reliable energy is well known. This is just another effort to push forward with radical policies that have no basis in fact or science. Pursuant to the ICJ theory, every single country in the world would be subject to paying reparations, as every single country consumes fossil fuels. Yet, we know that such an outcome isn’t the UN’s intent. This is just another effort to force America to prop up the economies of failed states and impoverished nations. American citizens are not going to be forced to pay reparations based on vague, speculative claims about so-called climate damage,” said Rep. Hageman. “This bill protects both U.S. sovereignty and Congress’s constitutional authority. It guards against financial risks born of international lawsuits or opinions built on unproven assumptions.”

If other nations want to pay, have at it. It’s very sketchy as to if the US is even subject to the ruling by the ICJ, which is also non binding because it was just an advisory opinion. It makes the lawyers happy, though.

But, what if a Democrat wins in 2028? That wacko could start directing US money to the scam. This law could stop that.

A Dozen SCNY Officials Arrested By ICE

Maybe it’s time to start throwing some real federal charges at these unhinged Sanctuary City New York wackos interfering with federal agents?

More than a dozen city officials arrested while protesting immigration crackdown

More than a dozen city officials and lawmakers, and dozens of other demonstrators, were arrested Thursday both inside and outside 26 Federal Plaza while protesting conditions at the building and President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in the city.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, state Sen. Julia Salazar, Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest and members of the City Council were among those detained at the protest. (snip)

Others, including City Comptroller Brad Lander, were taken from the 10th floor of the plaza after trying to catch a glimpse of the conditions there.

All the officials have now been released. Lander and 10 others were given summonses for blocking the lobby and the foyer upstairs. They have a court date in November.

Defending illegal aliens, many of whom are serious criminals, seems like the hill they want to die on

(Newsweek) Thursday was Lander’s second time being detained at the facility, following an arrest in June.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Newsweek in a statement, in part, “Brad Lander’s obsession with attacking the brave men and women of law enforcement, physically and rhetorically, must stop NOW. The men and women of ICE put their lives on the line every day to arrest violent criminal illegal aliens to protect and defend the lives of American citizens. This type of rhetoric is contributing to the 1000% surge in assaults of ICE officers through this repeated vilification and demonization of ICE.”

Have they passed the point of not protesting peaceably? Sooner or later these protests are going to lead to serious violence, because the Democrat politicians and high end activists are whipping everyone up into a frenzy.

Say, Can COP30 Turn Your Money Into Adaptation?

The people taking long fossil fueled trips to Brazil, then using the road cut out of the Amazon, are always very happy to spend your money, whether you want this or not

Can COP30 turn adaptation talks into real-world investments?

The COP30 climate summit in Belém will put adaptation to a warming world front and centre, with the aim of moving negotiations from technical debate to deciding how to measure adaptation progress and accelerating action on the ground, according to Alice Amorim, Brazil’s COP30 programme director.

At the mid-year UN talks in Bonn, countries reached a compromise on work to select a set of 100 indicators this year for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA), which is part of the Paris Agreement.

But a key sticking point has been how to track funding for vulnerable communities to become more resilient to climate shifts – which affect everything from agriculture to water and infrastructure – in a way that can help ensure that developed countries are providing adequate support to developing nations.

Oh, please. Track funding? Most of it disappears into the pockets of NGOs, government officials and workers, and big shots at companies. So little ever makes it to the people it is reported to help

A meeting of technical experts in late August narrowed down the list of GGA indicators to 113, but was unable to agree on how to monitor finance for adaptation, according to a summary released this week.

With the negotiations set to continue at COP30, Amorim told this month’s Africa Climate Summit in Addis Ababa that she hopes countries will finally agree on the indicators in Belém, adding that the Brazil conference – being described as an “implementation COP” – must go further to shape a system that can quickly turn those decisions into real-world results.

“This is a moment where we don’t need to wait anymore for all parties to agree on what needs to happen to make adaptation finance flow to Africa, to Latin America, to the small island states and so on. It’s about acting upon it, it’s about moving from commitments to practice,” Amorim said.

It’s about taking Other People’s money and redistributing it. But, remember, this is a science.

Brazil’s Amorim told the Africa climate summit in Ethiopia last week that the need for adaptation “is clear and tangible” on the continent. What is missing, however, are the conditions to drive it in a much wider and faster way, she added.

Do you know how much money the US, the EU, Russia, India, and China have dumped into Africa, with barely any change from its Third World shithole status? That will not change. Climate cash is just a different way of enriching some people in Africa (and other nations), but, there are no strings attached, because the developed world “owes” the shitholes the money.

Judge Orders Mahmoud Khalil Deported To Syria Or Algeria

It really should have been so easy to deport Khalil in the first place. He came in on a student visa in 2022 to attend Columbia University and immediately started protesting and whipping up hatred of Jews. His student visa ended. The US government has no need to keep him on any work visa. They do not have to give him any visa.  Threatening to kill Jews, destroy Israel, and destroy America is more than enough to get him booted. He’s a hardcore Hamas supporter, and that’s enough.

Immigration judge orders Mahmoud Khalil deported to Syria or Algeria

An immigration judge in Louisiana has ordered pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, a legal permanent resident of the U.S., deported to Syria or Algeria for failing to disclose certain information on his green card application, according to documents filed in federal court Wednesday by his lawyers.

Khalil’s lawyers suggested in a filing that they intend to appeal the deportation order, but expressed concern that the appeal process will likely be swift and unfavorable.

The order from the immigration judge, Jamee Comans, came despite a separate order in Khalil’s federal case in New Jersey blocking his deportation while that court considers Khalil’s legal argument that his detention and deportation are unlawful retaliation for his Palestinian advocacy.

The Biden regime gave a guy who advocated death to Jews and destruction of Israel and the US while expressing favorable opinions and support for Hamas, a US designated terrorist organization. The US has every right to pull that green card when the person is a threat to the US and national security.

In a letter to the New Jersey federal judge, Michael Farbiarz, Khalil’s lawyers said they have 30 days from Sept. 12, the date of the immigration judge’s ruling, to appeal her decision to the Board of Immigration Appeals. The lawyers said they expect that process to be “swift” and that an appeal of the BIA decision, which would go to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, is unlikely to be successful, since, they wrote, the appeals court “almost never” grants stays of removal to noncitizens.

“As a result,” they wrote, “the only meaningful impediment to Petitioner’s physical removal from the United States would be this Court’s important order prohibiting removal during the pendency of his federal habeas case.” And, they wrote, “nothing would preserve his lawful permanent resident status.”

In a statement, Khalil, a Palestinian originally from Syria, accused the Trump administration of using “fascist tactics.”

Yeah yeah yeah. Don’t be a terrorist supporter. You made your choice. Seriously, Democrats are defending this guy, but, then, so many Democrats hate Jews, hate Israel, and hate the United States.

National Academies Goes Full Cult In Supporting Climate Doom

Climate change ‘beyond scientific dispute,’ National Academies report says

One of the United States’ most respected scientific bodies rejected claims from Trump administration officials that rising temperatures posed little danger, saying on Wednesday the scientific evidence of climate change was “beyond scientific dispute” and that impacts on the nation are worsening.

The conclusion from the the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine differs starkly from a draft report issued by the Energy Department in July, in which a panel of scientists known for their contrarian views argued that the risks of climate change have been overblown.

The nonprofit National Academies advise the government on scientific issues.

In sharp contrast to the Trump administration’s report, NASEM’s 135-page review of climate science says that our understanding of climate science has only improved since EPA in 2009 formally declared greenhouse gases a threat to human health and welfare.

That includes long-term observations that “confirm unequivocally” that human emissions are warming the planet, that climate change is already harming the health and welfare of U.S. citizens and that the severity of climate change increases “with every ton of greenhouse gases emitted.”

Reads more like blathering from a doomsday cult with skin in the game to keep the money train rolling. BTW, what about the observations that showed a warming pause for around 18 years?

“Much of the understanding of climate change that was uncertain or tentative in 2009 is now resolved and new threats have been identified,” the report concluded. “These new threats and the areas of remaining uncertainty are under intensive investigation by the scientific community. The United States faces a future in which climate-induced harm continues to worsen and today’s extremes become tomorrow’s norms.”

I have a recommendation: everyone at the National Academies should immediately give up their own use of fossil fuels and make their lives carbon neutral. No one is allowed to travel to Brazil for COP30. The Academies should forgo all use of fossil fuels, AC, heating, and more at it’s offices, ban meat. And tell everyone who believes this report to do the same.

Conservatives Pounce: Jimmy Kimmel’s Show Suspended Indefinably

ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live! From the Air ‘Indefinitely’

Conservative cancel culture has come for Jimmy Kimmel: Walt Disney–owned ABC has announced it’s pulling new episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! “indefinitely” following right-wing outrage over comments he made on his September 15 show about the reaction to the killing of right-wing podcaster and provocateur Charlie Kirk. Disney’s decision follows a move by one of its major affiliate groups, Nexstar, to preempt the show in response.

While Nexstar didn’t say exactly what Kimmel had said that it objected to, and ABC offered no further explanation of its move, FCC chairman Brendan Carr earlier on Wednesday denounced this part of the host’s Monday monologue, per Deadline: “We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.” Around 6 p.m. ET Wednesday, Nexstar issued this statement: “Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.” When Vulture asked ABC for comment, a network rep replied, “Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be preempted indefinitely.”

See, it’s not the problem that Kimmel made reprehensible remarks on his low rated show, no, it’s that Conservatives noticed it.

Evil Blogger Lady says Jimmy Kimmel is a dirty liar and fraudster. And laughs that he is suspended.

And here’s the thing: Kimmel’s show has a lot lower ratings than Colbert, who had about 2.4 million a night. Kimmel was getting around 1.77 million (Carson got around 9-11 million a night.) I wonder if we are going to soon hear about how much Kimmel’s show costs, and that the plug is being pulled.

Dublin City Council Has Fantastic Idea To Get Rid Of Garbage Bags

Lawmakers issue sweeping ban that will have major impact on stores: ‘We’re aiming … to have them all gone’

When we consider plastic waste, we normally don’t think about the items that are designed to collect that waste and keep it off the streets.

But in Dublin, the city council has started phasing out plastic garbage bags, per The Irish Times. They say the ban is necessary because animals frequently tear these bags apart, leaving loose rubbish behind.

A ban on such bags was originally passed in 2016, but many residents and businesses were excluded from the legislation because their properties were deemed unsuitable for wheeled garbage bins. Since then, those excluded from the ban have been allowed to leave plastic garbage bags on their curb for collection.

So, they have trouble getting garbage cans?

Now, starting in the northern part of the city, on-street trash compactors will be installed, eliminating the need for curbside collection. After that, similar compactors will be installed in other parts of the city where large numbers of people still use garbage bags.

“We’re aiming for the end of 2026 to have them all gone,” Derek Kelly, executive manager of the council’s environment division, told the Irish Times. “Things can always get in the way, but that’s the hope. We don’t want this to continue any longer than is necessary.”

Residents will be given key cards or codes to use the compactors, which will otherwise be sealed shut and not available for public use.

What could go wrong with having trash compactors on every street? Having to lug your garbage to them? How do you do that without garbage bags? Who gets it near their home, and has to deal with the sound and the stench? And having a nasty garbage compactor in site, with fallen garbage all around it? And on it?

Plastic consumption is one of the biggest issues facing our environment. Plastic manufacturing spews toxic fumes into our atmosphere, which have caused the planet to become significantly warmer.

Sigh.
