White House: Social Security Should Be Off Limits In “Fiscal Cliff” Talks, But Won’t Show Their Plan

Other than raising taxes and gutting the military, is there anything Team Obama is willing to discuss? They’ve already shrieked that Obamacare is off limits, even though it is another in a long line of entitlement programs that can’t be paid for

(CBS News) It appears another issue of disagreement has surfaced in regard to the negotiations over the so-called “fiscal cliff”.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that Social Security is one entitlement program that should be addressed on a “separate track.”

“We should address the drivers of the deficit and Social Security currently is not a driver of the deficit,” Carney told reporters today. The senior retirement program is solvent for another 21 years, at which time recipients could see a reduction in benefits.

Social Security accounts for one third of federal spending, and the pool of people paying in to the program shrinks every year. Back in 1950 the ration of workers to benefit recipients was 5.1-1. In 2009 it is 3-1. It’s estimated that by 2030 it will be 2-1, but it could actually be 1-1 or even more recipients than workers. And Cox and Archer point out

As of the most recent Trustees’ report in April, the net present value of the unfunded liability of Medicare was $42.8 trillion. The comparable balance sheet liability for Social Security is $20.5 trillion.

What is on the table? Who knows, because the White House refuses to release a plan

After a reporter asked how President Obama was planning to engage in the messaging war over the “fiscal cliff,” White House Press Secretary said that he didn’t want to “ruin the fun” of fiscal cliff negotiations. …

“It would ruin the fun, if I gave you all the details now,” Carney said with a smile.

Can you imagine the media response were Tony Snow or Dana Perino to give that answer during the Bush years? Apparently Team Obama thinks this is a game. But, does anyone think they actually have a plan? Remember, this is the guy who wasn’t bothering to meet with his economic panel. The guy who commissioned a big plan (Simpson-Bowles) then immediately blew it off. Who said “the private sector is doing fine.” The guy who put his big plan on a post it note.

The GOP should counter Obama’s talking points with a real plan that would include $3 in spending cuts now for ever $1 in tax increases later, put Obama on the hook.

(USA Today) — For the second consecutive year, prospective gun buyers joined Black Friday shoppers in record numbers as firearms dealers swamped the FBI with required buyer background check requests.

The FBI fielded 154,873 calls, a roughly 20% increase from last year’s previous one-day record of 129,166, according to bureau records.

The requests came in such volume throughout the day that FBI call centers experienced two brief outages — one of 18 minutes and one for 14 minutes —during the busy day, bureau spokesman Stephen Fischer said Monday.

Sure shows a lot of confidence in the direction this country is headed, eh?

Even Pravda Mocks Americans For Re-electing Obama

Remember the creepy tweet above from the night before the last election? It’s a shame that so many Americans didn’t see the similarities between that and something the Stalinists would have put out. Then again, it’s a shame so many Americans are clueless about Stalin’s atrocities. Quite a few Russian’s recognize it for what it is. If you can get past the “Putin is the second-coming of Reagan” aspect to this post at Pravda, you have to admit that there’s some truth to it.

Recently, Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society and he is ready to continue his lies of less taxes while he raises them. He gives speeches of peace and love in the world while he promotes wars as he did in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He plans his next war is with Iran as he fires or demotes his generals who get in the way. …

Well, any normal individual understands that as true but liberalism is a psychosis . O’bomber even keeps the war going along the Mexican border with projects like “fast and furious” and there is still no sign of ending it.  He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America. His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia.  Obama’s fools and Stalin’s fools share the same drink of illusion.

It takes a former Communist dupe like Pravda to understand the dangers of an extreme far left disciple like Obama.

Hooray! This Year’s UN IPCC Opens In Qatar Today!

The United Nations is meeting for its latest round of talks on climate change in the oil and gas-rich nation Qatar.

About 17,000 people from 194 countries will attend the meeting at the Qatar National Convention Centre, making it Doha’s largest ever conference.

The aim of the two week meeting (26 November to 07 December 2012) is to cut global carbon emissions.

Here it comes

Yes, that’s right. Qataris use five times the amount of carbon than the average Briton, at 44 metric tonnes per person per year. This is largely because of energy intensive air conditioning and desalination plants for water. Because water and electricity is free, there is little incentive to cut usage.

The Project Developer Forum, a group campaigning on behalf of green energy developers, estimate the conference will generate at least 25,000 tonnes of carbon. This is the carbon generated by 10,000 people flying into Qatar from around the world and staying in hotels for 15 nights. The total is more than the small island state of Niue in the South Pacific uses in a year.

So, COP 18 will be held in one of the world’s largest “carbon footprint” countries. Their footprint is 61 tons per citizen. America’s is 19. the average around the world is 4. There are only 2 countries with a higher footprint than Qatar (US Virgin Islands and Gibraltar). And this is where the UN has decided to hold their working vacation to tell everyone else to reduce their own footprint. Of course, those who are attending have been “urged” to purchase carbon offsets, which is a bit like refusing to stop speeding and simply paying for the tickets.

Louise further goes on to point out that previous conferences have generated about 15,000 tons of “carbon”. She does follow up with some “hope” that something will be done. Good luck with that! Every year has been a further failure.

Atheists Freak Over Bringing Schoolkids To See A Charlie Brown Christmas

They’re probably just pissed about that part about “Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.”

(The Blaze) When one thinks of typical War on Christmas targets, Charlie Brown is, perhaps, the furthest catalyst to come to mind. Yet the popular cartoon character is at the center of an atheist-led battle in Little Rock, Arkansas, against the popular play and its production at a local house of worship.

The controversy commenced when some teachers at Terry Elementary School sent letters home to parents regarding taking first and second-grade students to see “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at Agape Church, KARK-TV recently reported. While the event isn’t school sanctioned, local atheists are outraged that educators are planning to take children to see the play, which includes religious themes.

Or perhaps they’re upset about the part that goes “and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

“We’re not saying anything bad about Charlie Brown,” Anne Orsi, a lawyer and vice-president of the Arkansas Society of Freethinkers (ASF), told KARK-TV. ”The problem is that it’s got religious content and it’s being performed in a religious venue and that doesn’t just blur the line between church and state, it over steps it entirely.”

This is all about one parent having a hissy fit, contacting the “Freethinkers”, and the group having a typical tizzy. Surely all left side politics leaners, who yammer on about diversity, multiculturalism, tolerance, expanding horizons, yet, blow a gasket over any mention of religion and want to deny others their right to practice.

“Those who stand up for the rights of children to be free from coercion aren’t making war either on religion or Christmas,” ASF spokesperson LeeWood Thomas said in a statement. “Rather this is a case of a church forming an alliance with local government to violate religious freedom.”

Have you ever read a story where any of these atheists groups have blocked schools from having Muslim days? Oh, oh, have you ever read a story where they work on Christmas and refuse holiday pay, or at least considered Christmas as just another day off? Yeah, me neither. These people (lets not blame all atheists, most simply go about their lives and couldn’t care less what you believers think or do) are simply miserable people who have to ruin it for everyone else.

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, ‘Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. “That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”

Disagree With Obama On Taxes? Then You’re Ruining The Holiday Season

Team Obama can’t even force themselves to use the word “Christmas”

(Daily Caller) Any Republican refusal to accept President Barack Obama’s fiscal plan may ruin Christmas for the nation’s retailers, the White House claimed in a report released Monday morning.

“The National Retail Federation is forecasting that holiday sales will grow 4.1 percent this year … [but] if Congress does not act on the President’s plan to extend tax cuts for the middle-class, it will be risking one of the key contributors to growth and jobs in our economy at the most important time of the year for retail stores,” says the report, which was prepared by the Obama White House’s National Economic Council and the president’s Council of Economic Advisers.

“The holiday season is no time to threaten middle-class pocketbooks,” urges the report, titled “The Middle-Class Tax Cuts’ Impact On Consumer Spending & Retailers.”

The beginning of the report is a hoot

President Obama is committed to growing our economy from the middle out by ensuring a strong, secure, and thriving middle-class. That’s why his top priority is promoting jobs and growth while reducing our deficit in a balanced and responsible way.

Yeah, every once in a while he decides to focus like a laser on the economy, gives a big speech, then moves on to some shiny distraction. The economy is in stagnation, and, if really was concerned, his focus would be on fixing his foolish “health care” plan, which is going to induce companies to move a good chunk of their workforce to 30 hours or less a week.

The new report is part of Obama’s media campaign to blame Republicans for scheduled tax increases, spending cuts and the stalled economy during Obama’s tenure.

The man takes responsibility for nothing that has gone wrong. He simply wants the tax increases, which he knows will have little effect on revenue as those with money find other ways to avoid those taxes, and what little comes in will be spent rather than used towards debt and/or deficit reduction.

A failure to extend the expiring middle-class tax cuts would cost middle-class families roughly $2,200 per year and hurt the consumer-driven slice of the nation’s economy during the “holiday season” — the White House’s sanitized euphemism for “Christmas” — says the report.

Nowhere will you find the word Christmas in the report. This whole report is yet another PR attempt by Team Obama, an attempt to tell a scary story along with avoiding responsibility for being a poor leader.

Perhaps Obama should ask his Democrat led Senate why they haven’t passed a budget in over 3 years, a constitutional requirement.

Prince With Massive CO2 Footprint Says World Is Committing Suicide

(Guardian) Mankind is on the brink of ‘committing suicide on a grand scale’ unless rapid progress is made on green issues, the Prince of Wales warned today.

His comments came in a pre-recorded video speech accepting a lifetime achievement award at the 7th International Green Awards at Battersea Power Station in London.

He told the ceremony that fossil fuels and supplies of fresh water were under pressure while ‘vast amounts of CO2’ were still pumped into the atmosphere.

The Prince said: ‘Humanity and the Earth will soon begin to suffer some very grim consequence.

‘It’s therefore an act of suicide on a grand scale to ride so roughshod over those checks and balances and flout nature’s necessary limits as blatantly as we do.

“The longer we go on ignoring what is already happening and denying what will happen in the future, the more profoundly we condemn our grandchildren and their children to an unbearably toxic and unstable existence. We simply have to turn the tide.’

This comes from a guy who’s carbon footprint is “the equivalent of 2718 tonnes of CO2…..Even if you divide this by the 130 or so staff that the Prince employs, this is still roughly double the average carbon footprint for the UK.” The average American has a footprint of 19.78 tons. Brits footprint is at 9.66 tons. The worldwide average is 4 tons. And here’s this guy yammering on about “an act of suicide”l, running around the world with a large entorouge putting out tons of CO2 and creating “dirty weather” and “an unbearably toxic and unstable existence.” Practice what you preach, Chuck.
