Nicole Russell asks the question at USA Today
Biden’s cancer diagnosis raises the question: Was he ever in good enough health? | Opinion
On May 18, Americans learned that former President Joe Biden has stage 4 cancer that has, unfortunately, metastasized to his bones.
It’s sad that Biden, who for decades served our nation as a senator, vice president and president, now faces a life-threatening illness only four months after leaving the White House.
But I can’t help but think about what Democratic Party leaders and much of the news media told Americans only a year ago. Biden was then portrayed as “active” and “robust.” He was more than ready, according to the Democratic Party, for four more years as commander in chief, even as he approached his 82nd birthday. (snip)
So, I have questions for the Democratic Party. When did Democratic leaders know that Biden was incapable of serving a second term? Why did they insist on a debate with Trump so early in the election year? Was the debate a fail-safe before the party’s convention in case Biden proved to be as shaky as we all eventually witnessed? Why should voters trust that the party will tell them the truth in the future?
They won’t. But, Democrats will still vote Democrat no matter what.
Hur decided not to prosecute Biden for improperly possessing classified documents because the special counsel thought a jury would view the president as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
That raised justified questions about whether Biden was competent enough to serve as president. But Democrats and much of the media brushed aside those concerns.
And the media will still pimp for Democrats. That’s what they do. It won’t change. They have fallen too deep down the well to get out and actually be reporters. Nor do most want to.
Conservatives were right to be suspicious a year ago about Biden’s health. But why weren’t more journalists asking tough questions at the time? Why weren’t Democratic leaders pressing for the good of their party and the country for Biden to step aside long before the debate debacle?
Conservatives were suspicious during the 2020 campaign, with Biden being hidden away for the most part.
Biden’s Late Cancer Diagnosis Exposes Democrats And The Media As Legitimate National Security Risks
Until Democrats start naming names and apologizing for their reckless, craven conduct as it relates to Joe Biden, I don’t want to hear another word about Pete Hegseth’s Signal chats.
It was fine timing to get news over the weekend that the former president, a well established dotard, has an advanced and aggressive form of prostate cancer that has reached his bones. There’s a strong likelihood that Biden was diagnosed with some stage of the disease before he was even elected president, and he almost certainly had it while in office. Yet the public knew nothing until Sunday.
Prayers up for Biden, but this is an appalling scandal. And it comes just as the dying news media are finally acknowledging that, yeah, Biden’s brain was rapidly browning over as he sat in the Oval Office, where he was losing track of space and time as the commander of the United States military, the point person for nuclear war.
Yeah, always good to have someone mentally incompetent driving the the world into WWIII.
Recall that now-Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson, when he was serving as Donald Trump’s first-term White House physician in 2018, rendered a medical summary on the president that more or less described Trump as in good health, if a little overweight and in need of some exercise. The dying media questioned him for an hour at a press conference. They were sure that Jackson was deceiving the public by not divulging some mental affliction that would have affirmed their feverish desire to see Trump removed from office by way of the 25th Amendment.
But, not only did the media not ask questions, they covered it up. I don’t expect anything to change.

Well, it took a few extra days than people thought, but, she is charged
LOL
(Breitbart) Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was charged with assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers during a riot at Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba revealed that McIver was being charged. Noem noted that “no one is above the law.”
The announcements of the charges against McIver come after Reps. McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka (D) showed up at Delaney Hall to “conduct federal oversight” of the facility and allegedly stormed and trespassed. Baraka ended up being arrested for alleged criminal trespass.
They have lots of video of this, so, should be interesting. Should be interesting to see what kind of circus McIver brings when she turns herself in. You know she wants that. It’ll probably involve claims of raaaaacism. The charges against Baraka have been dropped
(NY Times) In a statement on Monday, Ms. McIver blamed federal law enforcement for instigating the clash, saying that “ICE agents created an unnecessary and unsafe confrontation.”
“The charges against me are purely political — they mischaracterize and distort my actions, and are meant to criminalize and deter legislative oversight,” she said.
Yeah, sweety, there’s video of your actions. But, Dems cannot complain after all the lawfare against Trump and people who worked for him. And, really, oversight doesn’t involve getting in the faces of federal agents doing their jobs.
Now we await all the screeching opinion pieces from the same outlets who cheered the Biden admin going after Trump.

Is this a new one? I’m not sure I’ve heard this one before
Need a home mortgage? Here’s how climate change could hit your credit score
Anyone shopping for a mortgage knows how far into your finances lenders like to dive in order to determine your credit-worthiness. But here’s a new factor: climate change.
Given how quickly climate disasters are increasing, both in frequency and in resulting costs, lenders are paying far more attention now to how those costs could hit them. Insurers are also struggling to keep up and more often pulling out of the most risk-prone areas, making the losses even steeper. Add to that, FEMA is in a state of flux under the Trump administration, with both cuts to staff and potential disaster funding.
Climate has therefore become an increasingly important consideration in assessing credit score risk, right along with a consumer’s debt, income and collateral in the home, according to a new report from First Street, a climate risk assessment firm. The risks includes flood, wildfire and wind.
If lenders start factoring climate into their underwriting, then a consumer’s credit score could fall or even rise depending on the risk to their property. The former would result in higher borrowing costs. The study notes that lender losses today are primarily in just three states: California, Florida and Louisiana.
Sigh. Just, these people. It’s so exhausting and tedious. Oh, and they worked some TDS into the article. Kudos!

I mean, I’m not sure what all the kerfuffle was, TPS for them was going to end in June 2025, anyhow. Or was it April 2nd? Or September 10th Or 2026? Of course, what the illegal alien lovers wanted is for TPS to be extended for a fourth time, and then permanently
Supreme Court allows Trump to revoke protected status for thousands of Venezuelans
The Supreme Court gave the Trump administration the green light Monday to revoke special legal protections for thousands of Venezuelan immigrants, which could pave the way for at least some of them to be deported.
The high court granted an emergency application filed by the administration, meaning officials can move forward with reversing a decision made at the tail end of the Biden administration to extend protections for almost 350,000 Venezuelans under the federal Temporary Protected Status program.
The brief order noted that liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson would have denied the application. Litigation will now continue in lower courts.
“This is the largest single action stripping any group of non-citizens of immigration status in modern U.S. history,” Ahilan Arulanantham, one of the lawyers representing Venezuelan plaintiffs, said in a statement.
It was “truly shocking” that the Supreme Court authorized the move without giving the case more consideration, he added.
TPS is good for 18 months. The Biden regime extended it twice, the last time on October 3rd, 2023, hence the April 2nd, 2025 date. So, really, it is over. It was not extended by the Trump admin. I do think that the Trump admin made a mistake in trying to cancel it early in February. They should have just let it expire, and started sending them home. There’s no need for any sort of “due process”. It’s over. Bye now. One would think
People accepted into the program have legal status in the United States and can get work authorization for up to 18 months, subject to extensions. Without that protection, affected people are subject to deportation via the normal legal process but can seek other avenues for remaining in the United States by, for example, claiming asylum.
The problem with all these measures is that most find ways to never leave. If they apply for asylum it will take years for the hearing to happen, and, when it is denied, they often do not leave. Then, when caught after 20 years, they say they are now Americans. Despite many not speaking the language and on all sorts of government benefits. The Trump admin needs to surge immigration judges to tackle all the claims.
Meanwhile
United States Attorney for the District of California Bill Essayli is taking major action to crack down on “sanctuary” policies in the Golden State.
He’s launching “Operation Guardian Angel,” which is a task force, made up of assets from ICE, HSI, DEA, FBI, ATF, and Border Patrol, to begin scanning a criminal database every single day to identify arrested illegal aliens in local jurisdictions that DOJ can charge with felony illegal-reentry.
“They’ve made it almost impossible for ICE to do their job, issue detainers and get criminal illegal immigrants out of jails. So what we’re doing instead is we’re going to start issuing warrants,” he told Fox News.
Start flooding, guys!

It just goes to show that no matter what happens, ‘climate change’ has to be included. Because it’s a cult
These surreal trees survived for centuries. Scientists worry for their future
On a windswept plateau high above the Arabian Sea, Sena Keybani cradles a sapling that barely reaches her ankle. The young plant, protected by a makeshift fence of wood and wire, is a kind of dragon’s blood tree — a species found only on the Yemeni island of Socotra that is now struggling to survive intensifying threats from climate change.
“Seeing the trees die, it’s like losing one of your babies,” said Keybani, whose family runs a nursery dedicated to preserving the species.
Known for their mushroom-shaped canopies and the blood-red sap that courses through their wood, the trees once stood in great numbers. But increasingly severe cyclones, grazing by invasive goats, and persistent turmoil in Yemen — which is one of the world’s poorest countries and beset by a decade-long civil war — have pushed the species, and the unique ecosystem it supports, toward collapse.
So, goats and Islamist nutjobs. Cyclones have always happened.
Without intervention, scientists like Van Damme warn these trees could disappear within a few centuries — and with them many other species.
And what does “intervention” look like? They don’t say. But, it usually involves large amounts of money being redistributed from the 1st World.
But storms aren’t the only threat. Unlike pine or oak trees, which grow 60 to 90 centimeters (25 to 35 inches) per year, dragon’s blood trees creep along at just 2 to 3 centimeters (about 1 inch) annually. By the time they reach maturity, many have already succumbed to an insidious danger: goats.
An invasive species on Socotra, free-roaming goats devour saplings before they have a chance to grow. Outside of hard-to-reach cliffs, the only place young dragon’s blood trees can survive is within protected nurseries.
It’s the goats, not a tiny increase in the world’s temperature.

I mentioned this suit back in March of 2025. Bucks County is just north of Philly
Bucks County Sues Over Insulin Pricing, But Judge Tosses Suit Over Climate Change
Bucks County last week launched a new lawsuit against big pharma over the price of insulin in the same week that a previous county lawsuit over climate change was tossed. (big snip)
Just days after the county announced the insulin lawsuit, a common pleas court dismissed a lawsuit by the county against fossil fuel companies. That lawsuit, which was filed in March of 2024, claimed that companies including BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell knew about the harms that petroleum products can cause and engaged in misinformation to mislead the public. The earlier lawsuit sought damages to cover costs associated with climate change like flooding events.
On Friday, Common Please Judge Stephen Corr ruled that Bucks County lacked the jurisdiction to file the lawsuit, in part because of the interstate nature of the claim.
Too bad the companies didn’t just stop selling to the county. And, since Biden only won with 51.7% of the vote, I wonder how that would go over. Oh, and, again, if there were actually journalists left in the nation they would have asked County Commissioner DiGirolamo and the rest who voted for this if they drive fossil fueled vehicles themselves. If they take air travel. Have natural gas at home. They did try and contact the fossil fuels companies at the time and ask questions. Funny how all the Warmists in these areas suing want money but continue using fossil fuels.

The main city, Tucson, used to be a declared sanctuary city. But, state law ended that. And a recent ballot initiative had 71% saying they do not want to be a sanctuary city. Would the city council have listened? Not sure, but, they and county want money to deal with the illegals that are there thanks to Biden’s big border opening
Pima County suing Feds for $12 million in migrant care money
Pima County says the Federal government owes it more than $12 million for migrant care. It’s now suing to try to get that money.
Pima County is joining with the cities of Chicago and Denver. The suits claim FEMA was wrong to withhold reimbursement for money the county and those cities spent to shelter migrants and keep them off the streets.
Pima County says that over about five years, it spent more than $52 million in Federal grants to shelter about half a million migrants, but only for a few days at a time, as they prepared to move to other locations and pursue asylum claims.
The money came from FEMA shelter grants approved by Congress.
In February, FEMA said it might withhold reimbursement for grants approved in the last months of the Biden Administration. For Pima County that would be more than five-point-seven million dollars, plus another almost three-point-seven million it has not put in for reimbursement yet.
Well, ask Biden for the money. He’s surely made enough via graft in office. Reach out to all those Democrats who support unfettered illegal immigration (as long as the illegals/migrants aren’t in their own neighborhoods). They could all donate to a Go Fund Me, right?
Pima County and the cities say since Congress approved the money, executive branch agencies have no authority to hold back funds.
Congress may have allocated money via FEMA, but, the allocation didn’t specify WHERE it had to be spent. Trump could send it to lots of small towns which vote GOP who were stuck with all the illegals/migrants.
