Having problems getting people to believe what you’re telling them? Well, you could show them convincing evidence based on facts and science. Or…
(Portland Tribune) In a move spearheaded by environmentalists, the Portland Public Schools board unanimously approved a resolution aimed at eliminating doubt of climate change and its causes in schools.
“It is unacceptable that we have textbooks in our schools that spread doubt about the human causes and urgency of the crisis,†said Lincoln High School student Gaby Lemieux in board testimony. “Climate education is not a niche or a specialization, it is the minimum requirement for my generation to be successful in our changing world.â€
The resolution passed Tuesday evening calls for the school district to get rid of textbooks or other materials that cast doubt on whether climate change is occurring and that the activity of human beings is responsible. The resolution also directs the superintendent and staff to develop an implementation plan for “curriculum and educational opportunities that address climate change and climate justice in all Portland Public Schools.â€
This is the authoritarian, fascist penchant of the Cult of Climastrology, part of the overall Progressive movement. Censorship and outright banning of anything that doesn’t conform to their narrow political dogma. Education? For Progressives it’s about brainwashing and forced compliance, not teaching kids to evaluate all the material and make up their own minds.
Yet another musical group that is supposedly fighting discrimination by discriminating against a state, all because they are supposedly upset about the state say that people should use the bathroom, changing room, and showers that comport to their actual biology on state, county, and local property, unless they get their documents changed, and, furthermore, allows the private sector to make their own decision on the use of bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Choice. Don’t liberals like choice?
(WTVD) Staff inside PNC Arena took down promotional signs for Friday afternoon and a notice was posted online after multi-platinum-selling and Grammy award-winning rock band Maroon 5 announced it is canceling two concerts in the Tar Heel State because of House Bill 2.
The band was supposed to play in Charlotte on Sept. 11 and PNC Arena on Sept. 12.
Frontman Adam Levine and his bandmates issued a statement:
“We have announced that we be canceling our upcoming shows in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina because of the recent passage of the HB2 legislation. This as a difficult decision for us to make as a band. We don’t want to penalize our fans in North Carolina by not performing for them, but in the end it comes down to what we feel is morally right as we feel everyone should be treated equally.”
I have a question for them

None of those three countries is exactly LGBT friendly, nor is the nation of Georgia. They also did not have a problem playing in Houston during their 2015 tour, a city which shot down allowing the gender confused in the bathroom of their daily choice. Nor did they have a problem playing in Houston this year for the NCAA Final Four. So, what changed? Can’t be all that much, as they haven’t cancelled their Russia, Romania, Turkey, and Georgia tour dates. Ask them on Twitter.

There were many Warmists having complete meltdowns (sic) about this yesterday on Twitter
(USA Today)Â India sweltered to a scorching 123.8 degrees Thursday, setting a new all-time high that breaks a 60-year-old record, the India Meteorological Department said.

Officials recorded the blistering temperature in Phalodi in Rajasthan state in the northwestern part of the country. It bests a record most recently set in 1956 of 123.1 degrees in the city of Alwar, also in Rajasthan. That temperature was also recorded May 25, 1886 in Pachpadra in the same state.
Wait, they were able to get to that in 1886? Just a short time after the end of the Little Ice Age? When there weren’t fossil fueled vehicles, other than really coal fired trains? How could that be possible?

This must have been painful for CBS and the NY Times to publish, though they do give it a shot at some spin about Americans being divided. You know that if the numbers were reversed, they’d be crowing about how the majority supports letting the gender confused use the bathroom of their daily identity
CBS Poll: Americans Divided Over Transgender Bathroom Laws
Americans remain divided over the issue of whether transgender people should use the restroom of their birth gender, or of the gender they identify with.
According to a new CBS/New York Times poll, 46 percent of Americans said they believed transgender people should use the bathroom connected to their birth gender, with 41 percent saying they believed transgender people had the right to use the bathroom of the gender they identify as.
Obviously, liberals are overwhelmingly in support of the daily gender decision, but, even there, only 60% of Democrats and 71% of liberals support letting men who think they’re women on that day in the bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms with their wives, girlfriends, and daughters.
On the other side of the aisle, two-thirds of Republicans and 66 percent of conservatives said they believed that transgender people should use the bathroom associated with their birth gender.
On the flip side, the numbers aren’t as high for right leaners as one would have thought.
Independent voters were split on their view, with 49 percent believing transgender people should use the bathroom associated with their birth gender, and 38 saying they should be able to use the restroom they identify with.
49-38 is not a split, it is saying that a good majority are opposed to gender confused in the bathroom that doesn’t conform to their actual biology. It also means that Leftists are barking up the wrong tree if they think the majority of Americans are going to side with them on this issue.
From a Washington Times article on the poll we learn
Fifty-seven percent of respondents said the issue is best left to the states, in a rebuke to President Obama’s order on Friday compelling schools to regulate restrooms and locker rooms on the basis of gender identity or risk losing federal education funding. Only 35 percent of Americans believe the federal government should wade in on the issue.
And that’s the way it should be. Federalism in action, rather than Los Federales dictating everything for 300 million+ citizens in 50 States plus some territories and protectorates.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it would be better for the TG community to ease up on their in your face “you will be made to care” pushes, and instead work to woo people to their side. For the most part, people really won’t notice a man who honestly thinks he’s a women dressed and looking like a woman going into the ladies room to use the toilet (and visa versa for a woman TG, unless they want to use the urinal), nor will they care. It breaks down when they are in changing rooms and showers, especially in schools. And, more importantly, when people take advantage of the government dictates to cop a peak at people’s kids and such.

Much like with abortion on demand, solar and wind have enjoyed little to no regulation. A few years back, North Carolina required that abortion clinics be treated like the medical facilities they are. Things like requirements for medical standards and inspections made abotionistas very, very mad. Now we get this
(News and Observer) Green energy advocates are aghast at the latest energy proposal in the state legislature to regulate wind farms and solar farms, a bill they say would turn North Carolina into the nation’s most hostile state for renewables.
The legislation, introduced last week by two Republican state senators, would impose a host of financial hurdles and safety precautions, in some instances stricter than North Carolina’s standards for coal-burning power plants and nuclear power plants.
One of the lawmakers who sponsored Senate Bill 843, Sen. Bill Cook of Beaufort County, said the more renewables projects proliferate, the more they prompt complaints about safety, appearance and adverse effects on property values that must be addressed in a comprehensive fashion.
Many citizens are very concerned about the projects, particularly wind, because of the noise, the flickering sun from the blades, these giant turbines in view, and falling home values.
The bill would require a wind farm or solar farm to be built at least a 1 1/2 miles away from a neighboring property line. Even at that distance, a solar farm would have to be concealed behind a perimeter of hedges and native landscaping. A wind farm could not generate more than 35 decibels of noise, as measured from the neighboring property, which is equivalent to the volume of humans whispering.
It seems like a common sense measure in protecting the personal health and property values of citizens.
“This bill is massive new regulation and essentially a ban on wind and solar in North Carolina,†said Brian O’Hara, who handles business strategy and government affairs for Chapel Hill-based Strata Solar, the state’s largest solar developer. “Under the permitting regime suggested by this bill, not a single solar farm developed in the state would have been built.â€
So, what he’s saying, along with other Warmists, is that wind cannot comport with simple regulations. Warmists are part of a movement that loves loves loves government regulation, yet, they are unhappy when it applies to themselves. Go figure.

First off, Hillary, who doesn’t feel a need to defend Bill’s honor (hey, there’s no honor to actually defend), takes on Trump
(CNN) Hillary Clinton labeled her Republican rival Donald Trump “divisive and dangerous” and “unmoored” on Thursday, saying his recent behavior shows he’s not qualified to be president.
She pointed to Trump’s attacks on British politicians, his willingness to speak with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, his call for the United States to back away from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and his assertion that more countries should have nuclear weapons, and said it “adds up to a very troubling picture.”
“I know how hard this job is, and I know that we need steadiness as well as strength and smarts in it, and I have concluded he is not qualified to be president of the United States,” Clinton said.
Interesting. The guy she served under had a willingness, a longing, even, to talk to Iran, with no preconceived notions, and did just that. She’s the person who called Basher Assad a “reformer”. Russia expanded under her watch. Libya is in full meltdown after her little adventure. Etc and so on.
She, of course, had a meltdown over Trump’s temporary Muslim ban
“When you run for president of the United States, the entire world is listening and watching,” she said. “So when you say you’re going to bar all Muslims, you’re sending evidence to the Muslim world, and you’re also sending a message to terrorists. … Donald Trump is essentially being used as a recruiter for more people to join the cause of terrorism.”
The fact that Hillary thinks the temporary Muslim ban, which she calls the “Muslim ban”, promotes terrorism, proves Bernie Sanders was correct when he said she is not qualified to be President.
Look at the carnage all over the world including the World Trade Center, San Bernardino, Paris, the USS Cole, Brussels and an unlimited number of other places. She and our totally ignorant President won’t even use the term Radical Islamic Terrorism. And by the way, ask Hillary who blew up the plane last night – another terrible, but preventable tragedy. She has bad judgement and is unfit to serve as President at this delicate and difficult time in our country’s history.
Interestingly, when Benghazi was blamed on a completely unknown and barely viewed video, that video became a tool for Islamic terrorist recruitment. We can thank Hillary and the Obama administration for that. ISIS didn’t grow because of Donald Trump.
Trump hit the Twitter machine early
I said that Crooked Hillary Clinton is "not qualified" to be president because she has "very bad judgement" – Bernie said the same thing!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 20, 2016
Crooked Hillary has zero imagination and even less stamina. ISIS, China, Russia and all would love for her to be president. 4 more years!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 20, 2016
And several more. I wonder if the stamina thing will be a re-recurring theme?

Warmists have been using the legal system to abuse Exxon and other fossil fuels companies, as well as other private organizations that profess climate skepticism. The Warmists care little whether their science is right: they just want to shut down debate
(Fox News) Two Republican attorneys general have come out fighting against a sweeping investigation into whether ExxonMobil misled the public on global warming, asking a judge to block a subpoena that they call an abuse of power — and a threat to First Amendment rights.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange asked a Texas state judge Monday to put an end to the investigation being pursued by Virgin Islands Attorney General Claude Walker.
Walker, an independent, issued a subpoena in March seeking 40 years’ worth of Exxon communications with 90 conservative groups “and any other organizations engaged in research or advocacy concerning Climate Change or policies.†Walker claims the company misled the public on climate change by downplaying the risks.
But Paxton called the subpoena against the Texas-based company “a fishing expedition of the worst kind.â€
Warmists are engaged in lawfare, and in their world, no one is allowed to profess dissent from the Approved Doctrine. Using the power of Government to go after these companies is abusive and violates Free Speech rights, among other rights.
