Seriously, who does the Politboro AG Loretta Lynch think she’s fooling? (OD is the police dispatcher, OM is the nutjob Islamic jihadi, Omar Mateen
(ABC News)Â OD: Emergency 911, this is being recorded.
OM: In the name of God the Merciful, the beneficial [in Arabic]
OD: What?
OM: Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God [in Arabic]. I let you know, I’m in Orlando and I did the shootings.
OD: What’s your name?
OM: My name is I pledge of allegiance to [omitted]. (yeah, like we don’t know it’s ISIS)
OD: Ok, What’s your name?
OM: I pledge allegiance to [omitted] may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of [omitted]. (Mohammed? The head of ISIS? Context matters)
OD: Alright, where are you at?
OM: In Orlando.
OD: Where in Orlando?
[End of call.]
USA Today has a bit more.
The Hill’s Jonathan Swan offered these 5 things, but, he forgot a big one: actually campaign. Trump says he’s not going to start till after the convention. The GOP convention is July 18-21, which leaves a bit over three months till the general election. That’s not a lot of time to get things up and running.
Here are the 5
(The Hill) Pick a good VP: One of the fastest ways Trump can repair trust is by surrounding himself with people who would be seen as having a steadying influence on his administration.
Will he do it? Or pick someone completely outside the box, which will make the Trumpites happy, and turn everyone else off? McCain’s pick of Sarah Palin electrified the Conservative base in 2008. She was an up and comer, dynamic, exciting, attractive. Unfortunately, as we soon learned, she was woefully unprepared, and Team McCain did little to help her.
Expand your base: Trump crushed his opponents in the GOP presidential primary, where he was competing with other Republicans for a slice of the vote.
Winning a general election is tougher.
The thing is, he has attempted to expand it, but appealing to Democrats and Bernie supporters. What he hasn’t attempted to do is appeal to Republicans and Conservatives. Yes, he gets big crowds, and had a good showing during the primaries. But, the number who come out to vote during primaries is considerably less than during the general. And huge swaths supported someone other than Trump. He’s making little to no attempt to woo them, even just to the point of saying “at least vote against Hillary”. Often, he’s insulting to the people he needs to get out and vote.
Focus on winnable states
He needs to limit his appearances and attempts at putting California and NY in play, and focus on those states a Republican should win, as well as swing states. But, he’s running a “different campaign”, so don’t expect him to change.
Cut out the conspiracy theories
His base loves these. And, if he’s going to dabble in them, at least deal with real stuff, like Hillary’s email server and Bill’s sexual assaults.
Focus on jobs and the economy: Trump’s image is that of the successful businessman who knows how to make a deal.
The economy remains the No. 1 topic for voters.
As such, Trump’s path to the White House would seem to be based on an economic argument.
In interviews with The Hill over the past month, dozens of Republican strategists have said they wish Trump would get back to talking about how he’ll make America rich again.
The economy is a mess. He should spend more time talking about it. He can also talk about terrorism and illegal immigration, and should. But, much like with the other Democrat in the race, Hillary Clinton, Trump is more about populism. And whining about the Republicans who aren’t sold on him.
National polls are virtually meaningless. It is the state polls that matter, due to that whole Electoral College thing. Some early polls show Trump doing poorly in what should be slam dunk GOP states against a horrible candidate in Hillary. This could be an epic wipeout of the GOP for the general with a guy who doesn’t know how to run a campaign beyond the primaries.
More: perhaps Trump dumping Lewandowski is a step towards changing the narrative towards a general election, as many are suggesting. But, Trump says what Trump wants to say, not what Lewandowski tells him to say.

Citizens must be protected from hearing that the Pulse nightclub jihadi was doing it for Islam (video at the link)
(Real Clear Politics) In an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd, Attorney General Loretta Lynch says that on Monday, the FBI will release edited transcripts of the 911 calls made by the Orlando nightclub shooter to the police during his rampage.
“What we’re not going to do is further proclaim this man’s pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda,” Lynch said. “We are not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance [to the Islamic State].”
This is in reference to all his calls to 911 and others, which contained multiple references to ISIS, Islamist values, and defense of the Boston bombers, among others.
CHUCK TODD: We’re not going to hear him talk about those things?
LYNCH: We will hear him talk about some of those things, but we are not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance and that. It will not be audio, it will be a printed transcript. But it will begin to capture the back and forth between him and the negotiators, we’re trying to get as much information about this investigation out as possible. As you know, because the killer is dead, we have a bit more leeway there and we will be producing that information tomorrow.
One has to ask, if the killer was a Republican, conservative, or a Tea Party member, proclaiming those values, would the transcript be edited? What if they were a KKK member, a Sovereign Citizen, or just about anything else, would the transcripts be edited? Of course not. This administration, the majority of the media, and Democrats overall work overtime to protect extremist Islam, even at the expense of other Democratic Party voter blocks, such as the LGBT community.
As DaTechGuy notes “(the Obama administration is) going to censor any information that is not consistent with the approved narrative of the Democrat party in particular and the White House in particular.
William A. Jacobson writes “Calling BS on that. This is all about Obama’s attempt to extricate the reality of Mateen’s Islamic terror motivations from the public discourse.” And notes a comment by a Legal Insurrection reader, who says that this violates Florida open information laws.
I didn’t mention the Dylann Roof incident. Liberty Unyielding does
The DOJ was apparently happy to do that — to “further†Roof’s imputed propaganda, and “further proclaim pledges of allegiance†that he never actually made in relation to the attack.  For some reason, it wasn’t dangerous to the American public to have the Confederate flag (and a hysteria-wave about “white supremacismâ€) shoved in its face after the Charleston attack.  It was perfectly fine for the federal authorities to not just let Americans get a big load of Roof’s imputed propaganda, but to make it up and broadcast it for him.
Pamela Geller calls this Sharia compliance in America. This administration is willing to impugn gun owners, Republicans, Conservatives, White people, and just about every group but Islamists.

Happy Sunday! A gorgeous day here in America, and a great day to play golf. Unless you don’t like to hear grown men cursing, see them throw their clubs, and cry when they hit their favorite ball into the pond. This pinup is by Art Frahm, with a wee bit of help.
What’s happening in Ye Olde Blogosphere? The Fine 15
As always, the full set of pinups can be seen in the Patriotic Pinup category, or over at my Gallery page. While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets†calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts and things that interest me
Don’t forget to check out all the other great material all the linked blogs have!
Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

You didn’t think that the Human Rights Campaign would place the blame squarely on Islam’s hatred for the LGBT community, did you? Nor blame Democrats, being that Omar Mateen was a registered Democrat. Nor that he was possibly a gay. Nope, blame the guns
(Time) The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBT advocacy group, is veering from its normal set of priorities and on Friday announced that it would begin pushing for tighter controls on guns.
The shift, adopted late Thursday by the Human Rights Campaign boards of directors, comes in the wake of the largest mass shooting in the nation’s history. The shooting, which took place at an Orlando gay bar early Sunday morning, killed 49 people and injured another 53. It was a particularly galling attack, not just for its size, but also for its venue.
“Forty-nine members of our community were murdered on Sunday morning because of a toxic combination of two things: a deranged, unstable individual who had been conditioned to hate LGBTQ people, and easy access to military-style guns,†Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin said. “It is imperative that we address both issues in order to mitigate safety risk to our community.†(snip)
“As a society, we must hold accountable lawmakers, religious leaders and other public officials who put a target on the backs of LGBTQ people through hateful rhetoric and legislation, because they are complicit in the violence fueled by their words and actions,†Griffin said. “The safety of the LGBTQ community depends on our ability to end both the hatred toward our community and the epidemic of gun violence that has spiraled out of control.â€
Which religious leaders? Griffin doesn’t say, nor does the article at HRC mention, either. It doesn’t even imply or hint at that religion. Christianity may be against gay marriage and the gender confused in opposite sex bathrooms, there may be disapproval, but few are calling for jail and/or death like those in the Religion Of Peace, which has codified laws that call for jail, punishment, and or death for those who are LGBT. And that HRC article goes on to blame everything but Islam
HRC has observed alarming violence from coast to coast against the backdrop of more than 200 anti-LGBTQ bills that have been introduced in 34 states in 2016 alone. In the wake of last year’s marriage equality ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States, anti-LGBTQ activists have introduced a wide range of legislation targeting LGBTQ people. These bills have mainly fallen into three categories: bills targeting transgender adults and youth, including blocking their access to appropriate restrooms and other public facilities; bills creating broad “religious†loopholes enabling virtually any individual or organization to discriminate; and bills aimed overriding local LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections offered by municipal governments. The onslaught of these bills, combined with the dangerous rhetoric that lawmakers employ in soliciting support for them, has given license to the view that LGBTQ people are second class citizens deserving of not only discrimination, but harassment, intimidation, and violence.
They should try visiting Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Qatar, and many other Muslim nations, see how things go. I’m not actually recommending they do more than visit on the web, because they could be killed for being LGBT. This is mainstream Islam, not extremist Islam. Mainstream. But, hey, HRC is fine with blaming bathroom bills. They even mention the NY Times editorial that blamed the same, particularly Republicans and Conservatives.
Can’t be blaming Islam, you know. Because they will kill you if you say they aren’t peaceful. And, apparently, even the nation’s largest LGBT group is willing to place Islam on a level well above the their own people.
But, they can blame everyone else, and call for “common sense gun control”, as their joint resolution states
Resolved, the Human Rights Campaign and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation support common-sense gun safety reform within the United States, including limiting access to assault-style rifles, expanding background checks, and limiting the ability for suspected terrorists and those with a history of domestic abuse to access guns;
Resolved, that the Human Rights Campaign and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation will continue its primary focus of working for equality for LGBTQ people, and understand that given the reality of violence today, common-sense gun safety protections are vital to ensure LGBTQ people’s safety;
Resolved, that we stand with organizations and leaders who have committed a lifetime to this work, affirmatively supporting their efforts; and that we recognize our members and supporters, like many of their fellow Americans, are responsible gun owners, who, as survey after survey shows, also support sensible gun safety measures and restrictions on firearms without impacting the rights of responsible gun owners; and that we believe strongly in protecting the Constitutional rights of every American — believing we can protect those rights and innocent people from violence and recognizing that today, there are 49 fewer Americans who can access those rights.
They do realize they could end up disarming their own people, right? People who could lose the right to carry a weapon to protect themselves? Something that would have been helpful in Orlando.

Watch Trevor Noah explain why the terrorist list gun ban is actually pretty scary
The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah thinks that banning suspected terrorists from buying guns may not be that good of an idea, even if it sounds like it is.
In the wake of the recent Orlando massacre, Sen. Chris Murphy and other Democratic lawmakers filibustered for 15 hours in order to force a vote on a new gun bill. If passed, the bill would give the government broad authority to block the sale of guns to individuals investigated for terrorist activity up to five years before the attempted purchase. The bill is widely backed by Senate Democrats, and the terrorist list ban haspreviously garnered support from President Obama.
But perhaps it isn’t so cut and dried, Noah points out.
Last night, in a segment about the Senate filibuster, he explained why the idea is actually pretty troubling. “It sounds like something that shouldn’t be up for discussion,” he said. “But it’s not as formal as it sounds. It’s a secret list that anyone could be put on at any time.”
Therein lies a big problem. And Democrats/Liberals/Progressives should really say to themselves “could I end up on a government list with virtually no way to get off, violating my Constitutional rights? What if I find myself in a situation where, despite my loathing of guns, I find that I need one, say, because someone is violently threatening me, and now I cannot purchase one? What if it is simply that I get on a list and cannot fly? Who will protect me?”
Noah acknowledged that though the legislation might seem comforting now, we might want to think twice before consenting to such a large expansion of governmental discretionary power. His fears may be well-grounded. According to watch list guidelines published in the Intercept in 2014, adding a person’s name to the list requires neither “concrete facts” nor “irrefutable evidence.”
The ACLU has long been against things like the No Fly List, finding them a violation of our Rights, and has even filed lawsuits against them. And they do not think they should be used without serious and massive overhauls
There’s another important aspect to the government’s case at this stage. The government has emphasized that it is making predictive judgments that people like our clients — who have never been charged let alone convicted of a crime — might nevertheless pose a threat. That’s a perilous thing for it to do. As we’ve told the court based on evidence from experts, these kinds of predictions guarantee a high risk of error. If the government is going to predict that Americans pose a threat and blacklist them, that’s even more reason for the fundamental safeguards we seek.
We disagree with Speaker Ryan about many things. But he’s right that people in this country have due process rights. We want to see them respected.
And we disagree with the ACLU on many things, but they are right: using lists like the No Fly List are dangerous.
