Bored Grandma Links Counter-Terrorism With Gun Control

Alternate headline: lady surrounded by people carrying guns, many of which are utterly restricted for private ownership, wants to control your guns after helping ISIS come into being

(Breitbart) During MSNBC’s September 7 Commander-in-Chief Forum, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton suggested more gun control is part of the fight against terror attacks in the United States.

She did this after forum host Matt Lauer brought up “terror attacks on our soil.” (snip)

Clinton then said that “here, at home, for goodness sakes, we have to finally pass a law prohibiting people on the terrorist watch list from being able to guy a gun in the United States of America.” This is a reference to the “no fly, no buy” law that Democrats have been pushing since the December 2 San Bernardino terror attack, although neither of the San Bernardino attackers were on any kind of list.

Most on that list are already prohibited from purchasing a firearm, because they aren’t an American citizen. As for citizens, Ted Kennedy was continuously stopped. There are children and nuns on it. And it is damned hard to get off it. We’ve been through this time and again. Republicans offered legislation that would keep due process for citizens, something that even the LA Times noted was missing from all the Democrat talking points. Dems did not want the GOP bills, because citizens would retain Rights.

Clinton added that the last thing we need to do is “[go] after American Muslims” in our fight against terrorism.

But, she has no problem demonizing American citizens who own guns. And who are not likely to engage in terrorism. Let’s also note that you cannot fight what you cannot name.

BTW, a veteran confronted Hillary over he email scandal, and destroyed her.

Man With Massive Carbon Footprint Finds ‘Climate Change’ Utterly “Terrifying”

The same guy who calls ISIS the JV team, who isn’t worried about Islamic terrorists entering the US, who has no problem with black on black on black crime is uber-concerned with a tiny global increase in temperature (warning: autoplay video with annoying Obama)

(NY Times) Seventy-four years ago, a naval battle off this remote spit of land in the middle of the Pacific Ocean changed the course of World War II. Last week, President Obama flew took a long fossil fueled flight here to swim with Hawaiian monk seals and draw attention to a quieter war — one he has waged against rising seas, freakish storms, deadly droughts and other symptoms of a planet choking on its own fumes.

Bombs may not be falling. The sound of gunfire does not concentrate the mind. What Mr. Obama has seen instead are the charts and graphs of a warming planet. “And they’re terrifying,” he said in a recent interview in Honolulu.

Yet he still uses vast amounts of fossil fuels and energy while eating foods from far away. Go figure.

“What makes climate change difficult is that it is not an instantaneous catastrophic event,” he said. “It’s a slow-moving issue that, on a day-to-day basis, people don’t experience and don’t see.”

So, if people aren’t experiencing it and don’t see it, they couldn’t care less about it, especially when so few Warmists practice what they preach.

Climate change, Mr. Obama often says, is the greatest long-term threat facing the world, as well as a danger already manifesting itself as droughts, storms, heat waves and flooding. More than health care, more than righting a sinking economic ship, more than the historic first of an African-American president, he believes that his efforts to slow the warming of the planet will be the most consequential legacy of his presidency.

For his part, Mr. Obama said he planned to stay active in fighting climate change in his post-presidential life.

Will this be like how OJ searched for Nicole’s killer on every golf course he could find?

Everybody Panic: ‘Climate Change’ To Decimate Coffee Production By 2050

The Cult of Climastrology has long attempted to use coffee production as a way to scare people about the utter doom from anthropogenic climate change. Like most things AGW, it comes in cycles, and they’ve been make a push on coffee doom over the past few weeks, culminating in this, coming from a site called Science World Report

Climate Change Will Reduce The Coffee Production in 2050, Research says

There are a lot of serious reasons why climate change has to stop. For one, in 2050 we will be experiencing 50 percent less of coffee production if this phenomenon keeps on pursuing. It would be a drastic news for almost everybody, coffee lovers, coffee farmers, coffee shop owners and so much more. Big time coffee shop owners have already raised their concern on this matter.

The impact of climate change has already gone globally intense. The results that hit the coffee industry have already raised several concerns and threat. Meanwhile, the coffee production in Tanzania has already dropped by 137kg per hectare.

Alarming decrease in coffee production does not stop at Tanzania alone. Central America has already lost $500 million and laid off 350,000 people in 2012-2013. At least 85% of the crop in Guatemala were also gravely affected and have died. In Nicaragua, researchers calculated that they can also lose the majority of its coffee growing area, according to The Guardian.com. All these have happened due to the widely devastion brought about by global warming.

This should make everyone run out and destroy their fossil fueled vehicles, start taking 2 minute showers, use one sheet of TP, buy expensive solar panels….oh, wait. Quite a bit of that loss comes due to mismanagement of the soil coffee grows in, while using pesticides that also cause problems. Coffee Rust, also known as Royo, has been decimating coffee crops in Central America, and, yes, warmer global temperatures have allowed it to go further up mountains. Just like it surely did in previous warm periods. There’s no scientific proof that it is anthropogenic.

You see many of the same issues in Tanzania and other African areas that depend on coffee crops (which are usually too expensive for the workers to actually buy themselves, so they drink tea). There are also problems with population growth. Oh, and cooler than normal temperatures.

According to Think Progress.com, Fair-trade Australia and New Zealand conducted a research, a report titled “A brewing Storm.” The findings stated that unusual high-altitude rains and severe heat cost the outbreak of pests and disease into coffee farms. Climate Institute’s chief executive officer, John Connor, said: “We’re also seeing extra diseases increasing and being able to go up into those areas.”

If you’re using Think Progress as a source to support your cultish allegation, well, you’re utterly partisan. And, once again, there’s no scientific proof that climatic changes are mostly/solely caused by mankind.

If it was so bad, one would think those who believe in man-caused climate change would adapt their own lives to match their beliefs, right?

Team Hillary Puts Media On Notice To Not Question Her Health

She’s working the refs, and, since most of them are in the bag for her, it’ll probably work, especially since the majority are already defending Coughing Hillary against any charges or “just wonderings” regarding her health

(The Hill) Hillary Clinton’s campaign is working the refs hard when it comes to reports about her health.

While Clinton responded to a fit of coughing this week with humor, saying she was “allergic” to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, her aides and surrogates played the role of bad cop.

Campaign spokesman Nick Merrill took to task an NBC reporter who wrote about the coughing spell, posting on Twitter that the writer should “get a life.”

But, she keeps having these coughing fits. They aren’t unusual. They aren’t short.

The pushback signaled that Clinton’s campaign intends to sharply counterattack news organizations that take questions about her health seriously.

“They’re trying to work the refs a little bit as they try to push back on the mainstream media’s willingness to pick up on some of this stuff that’s usually left to the fringes,” Clinton surrogate Jim Manley explained.

So, instead of showing documents that she is healthy, and there is a good reason for the constant coughing which would send most of us running to the doctor, they’re going to attack and, most likely, attempt to destroy any who bring it up. She told the FBI 39 times that she couldn’t recall because of her concussion. She has a lot of falls. These aren’t conspiracy theories. They’re facts.

Do they show a picture of a woman in good health? One thing you can bet on, Americans love a good conspiracy, and they will be asking “if Team Hillary is pushing back hard on the allegations while refusing to debunk them with her health records, might there be something there?”

Allies, however, maintain that voters aren’t worried about the stories questioning her health.

“I think the media deserves to be beat up on this because I think it’s ridiculous. I really doubt that any American really cares about this,” said Democratic strategist Brad Bannon.

“This is as trivial as you can get. The media deserves pushback for giving so much coverage to this thing,” he added.

Au contraire. Citizens very much care about this. More read news about celebrity doings than politics, and they certainly care if a candidate is portraying poor health symptoms. Americans spend a lot of time on trivial things. Trivial things that seem important to them. Perhaps they aren’t much concern to the political elites, but citizens care. They care when their favorite celebrity is exhibiting signs of physical or mental illness, even when it’s just part of their favorite TV show. And the more Team Hillary attempts to obfuscate and Blamestorm, the more the media attempts to provide shelter, the more they will focus on this issue and wonder “what’s she hiding?” That’s the nature of humanity.

The health of a candidate is important, is it not? And it is certainly legitimate to ask questions when she hasn’t released her medical records. Trump, again, should do the same. We’re electing someone to the most power position in the world, and we should know that she’s up for the job, which ages a person tremendously, and requires enormous physical and mental stamina.

Finally, let’s consider that some media will take this as a challenge to their livelihood, and say “to hell with my Clinton supporting colleagues, I’ll get the information.”

Woman Who Takes Lots Of Fossil Fueled Flights Blames ‘Climate Change’ For Hermine

Let’s not forget that Hillary tried to claim all her air miles while Secretary of State as an accomplishment. She’s flying around the country, mostly to attend fancy pants fund raisers, and trotting out silliness like this

(Free Beacon) Hillary Clinton said climate change was to blame for Hurricane Hermine during a campaign rally Tuesday in Tampa, Florida, warning more storms would come.

“Another threat to our country is climate change,” she said. “2015 was the hottest year on record, and the science is clear. It’s real. It’s wreaking havoc on communities across America. Last week’s hurricane was another reminder of the devastation that extreme weather can cause, and I send my thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by Hermine.”

Yes, that dastardly climate change, which has kept Florida hurricane free for 11 years, till it was hit with a barely a hurricane named Hermine. Heck, it has barely been tagged with tropical storms and depressions over the last 11 years.

“But this is not the last one that’s going to hit Florida, given what’s happening in the climate. Nobody knows that better than folks right here in Tampa and in the broader region,” Clinton continued. “Sea levels have been rising here about an inch per decade since the 1950s. At the rate we are going, by 2030, which is not that far away, $70 billion of coastal property in this state will be flooding at high tide. And whenever our infrastructure is threatened, so too is our homeland security.”

No, they haven’t. St. Petersburg has data going back to 1947, which shows no acceleration, and .87 feet of sea rise over 100 years. Below what a normal Holocene warm period should see. Ft. Myers is .93 inches. Ceder Key is .65 feet. You can see all the Florida measuring stations here. If, by “about an inch per decade” she means about an inch every 15 years or so, OK then. Which is still not concerning, because it is less than what would be expected. She forgot to mention that part.

And, if sea rise is so dangerous, why do so many hardcore uber-rich Hillary supporters have homes along the coasts? Why is waterfront property so darned valuable? Why is she using so much fossil fuel?

Huh: Mark Levin States He Will Vote Trump

This seems to be more of a backhanded endorsement, more of a “dear lord, Hillary is so, so much worse” endorsement from a guy who was very much a full on #NeverTrumper

(Conservative Review) Mark Levin made the big announcement Tuesday night on his radio show after methodically walking listeners through his rationale.

At the beginning of the program, Levin made sure his real feelings were known. It was no secret that Levin’s first choice was not and is not Donald Trump. In fact, he boldly declared Tuesday that despite Trump’s holding some conservative policies, “Donald Trump is not a conservative … and he’s not reliable.”

And right there is a big part of the problem. Trump is not a conservative, he’s mostly held Democratic positions, he still holds some Dem positions, and he has not earned trust. Who is this guy, really? He has so often sounded so over the top that it makes me wonder if he’s utterly full of it, that he doesn’t really believe what he’s saying. It’s the old Spinal Tap joke about turning the amp up to 11.

Anyway, Levin would prefer Ted Cruz, or almost anyone else, but

But that’s not what happened and … “at the end of the day, someone is going to be president.”

Levin then listed his critiques of Trump one by one. From his behavioral antics during the GOP primary to his lack of understanding when it comes to the Constitution and limited government, from his massive spending increase for infrastructure to his protectionist trade policies, and more.

It wasn’t all bad for Trump, however, as Levin later spoke positively about his tax plan, his positions on immigration, law enforcement, and foreign policy. Levin did offer a common and recurring disclaimer: Trump is NOT reliable.

Then he got to the big part, which you can listen to at the link, and as transcribed by Mediaite

Levin said, “I’m gonna vote for Donald Trump. I’m gonna wind up voting for Donald Trump on elector day. I take no responsibility for the dumb things he says or the dumb things his surrogates say.”

In other words, he’s voting for Trump more as a protest against Hillary, and he will not be actively supporting Trump. Don’t expect Levin to go Trumpwonky like Hannity, Hugh Hewitt, and Laura Ingraham. He went on to note that “Hillary is so awful” and that she is far too dangerous of a liberal to let near the White House.

I’ve said before and I’ll say again, Team Trump and his followers should woo those who are on the fence in regards to voting Trump as a vote against Hillary, as well as the #NeverTrumpers to do the same. He should be stable, avoid the craziness, and keep his supporters from being nasty and bombastic. He’s been doing a good job for the past few weeks. He should focus on the economy and hitting Hillary. She is a horrible, awful candidate. He should make use forget the Hamilton Rule

If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.

Do we want to elect a guy from our party who we must oppose? He needs to make it so we do not believe we’ll have to do this.

Clinton’s Joyless, Unappealing Slog Might Be Good For The Country Or Something

The New York Times is always a hoot. The Editorial Board is having a snit fit over possible pay for play over Trump University making a donation to Florida AG Pam Bondi (which Bondi disputes), having mostly ignored, when they weren’t defending, all the pay for play regarding Hillary and the Clinton Foundation. Then you have this laugh riot by Ross Douthat, which appears thusly on the opinion pages

Joyless, folks

The Gift of Clinton

If the Trump campaign weren’t such an all-consuming piece of performance art, the big story of this election would be the sheer shambolic strangeness of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

The Democratic candidate is the most disliked nominee of modern times — except, of course, for her opponent. She is widely regarded as untrustworthy and corrupt, and the rare news cycles in which her name dominates the headlines (usually with the letters “F,” “B” and “I” nearby) have only confirmed this impression.

Would those be fabricator, feckless, or feeble? Incompetent? Bonkers?

She has claimed a political sour spot, in which her domestic policy positions are too far left to make her a unifying figure, but her sordid establishmentarianism still has left-wing voters pining for Bernie Sanders and considering Jill Stein. Her press-ducking, donor-massaging, risk-averse, joyless slog to November feels less like an old-fashioned front porch campaign than a campaign conducted from a corner mansion’s upstairs window, with the plebeians allowed to shout questions from the distant sidewalk and the candidate’s retainers ready to pull the sash at any time.

Sounds like a woooooonderful candidate.

That this is the candidate who stands between Donald Trump and the presidency should be dispiriting to Democratic partisans, disquieting to the fiercest #NeverTrumpers on the right, and depressing to anyone who would prefer not to have to choose between a reckless demagogue and a scandal-ridden dynast.

This sounds like James Comey trotting out reason after reason, fact after fact, as to why she should be indicted, before yanking that carpet away

But there are ways in which Clinton’s deeply unappealing candidacy might actually be a good thing for the republic.

The Trump phenomenon, after all, did not come out of nowhere. His caudillo-esque posturing, his contempt for republican norms, his “I alone can fix it!” promises are all populist variations on our political culture’s enthusiasm for untrammeled executive power, the bipartisan cult of the presidency, the Caesarism that the administrations of George W. Bush and Barack Obama have done a great deal to advance.

No one should doubt that a President Hillary Clinton would also play Caesar whenever the opportunity presented itself. But she would lack many of the qualities that make imperial presidents particularly dangerous — powerful charisma, a passionate and devoted base, a close relationship with a compliant press, a claim on some sort of sweeping policy mandate.

So, she would be a boring Caesar, which is apparently a good thing! And, she would return us to the “old familiar Clinton seediness”, which is also apparently a good thing!

Thus Hillary Clinton’s weakness and unpopularity might be a gift, of sorts, to the American future. Because she can’t put Trump away, it’s harder to dismiss Trumpism as either a pure joke or a pure evil. Because she can’t put him away, we have to take him seriously — and only by taking him seriously can we learn enough to make sure the next Trump isn’t far stronger, and far worse.

Unless, of course, she loses.

Yeah, in case you guessed it, Douthat was actually attacking Trump and the Trumpites while stating that a boring, joyless, elitist, scumbag, er, seediness Hillary administration would be better. Seriously, can you imagine hearing that cackle on the news day after day? During her speeches? During the SOTU? You thought Obama’s finger wagging, his “I’m so disappointed in Everyone Else voice”, his ums and ers and ahs were all annoying. Wait till you have to listen to her cackle. Then cough for several minutes straight. Though, I’m sure the media is ready to cut to commercial the minute that starts up.

But, hey, instead of an angry country as stoked by Obama, we’d have a joyless slog, as visioned in numerous dystopian movies.

California Approves Cow Fart Regulations Or Something

As Steven Hayward at Powerline notes, this is a headline he never thought he’d see. I have to disagree: this is the Cult of Climastrology we’re talking about, after all

Cow Fart Regulations Approved By California’s Legislature

SACRAMENTO (AP) — California’s Legislature has approved regulations on cow flatulence and manure – both blamed for releasing greenhouse gases.

The measure was approved shortly before the end of the legislative session Wednesday after its author, Democratic Senator Ricardo Lara of Bell Gardens, agreed to give dairy farms more time to comply.

The legislation seeks to reduce methane emissions associated with manure to 40 percent below their 2013 levels by 2030. Methane is one of several gases known as short-lived climate pollutants that don’t persist for long in the atmosphere but have a huge influence on the climate.

Fortunately, California consumers are more than willing to pay a lot more for beef and milk, especially when many farmers decide to head to different states to operate. Wait, they aren’t?
