Federal Judge Is “Humiliated” For Having To Actually Uphold Immigration Law

It must be a total bummer having to uphold the laws. There is a solution. Quit

(Breitbart) Judges are humiliated and dehumanized whenever they must enforce the nation’s immigration laws, according to a senior judge on the far-left Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The judge’s cry of outrage came when he could not block the orderly repatriation of an illegal immigrant who has two drunk driving convictions, plus a U.S. wife and three children.

“We are unable to prevent [Andres] Magana Ortiz’s removal, yet it is contrary to the values of this nation and its legal system,” complained Judge Stephen Reinhardt, who wishes to extend citizens’ rights to illegal foreign migrants. He said:

We are compelled to deny Mr. Magana Ortiz’s request for a stay of removal because we do not have the authority to grant it. We are not, however, compelled to find the government’s action in this case fair or just. …

The government’s decision to remove Magana Ortiz diminishes not only our country but our courts, which are supposedly dedicated to the pursuit of justice. Magana Ortiz and his family are in truth not the only victims. Among the others are judges who, forced to participate in such inhumane acts, suffer a loss of dignity and humanity as well. I concur as a judge, but as a citizen I do not.

If Judge Reinhardt is so upset by having to enforce federal immigration law, he can resign. The federal government is specifically tasked with protecting the nation from foreign invasion, which includes those who come to this country illegally as well as overstay their visas. The majority of countries in the world, including Mexico, refuse to tolerate those who are unlawfully present, and many, including Mexico, have harsher penalties.

One might not think drunk driving is a serious offense, however, doing such puts many other people at risk, not just yourself. Hence the reason we are treated to a constant litany of television, radio, and other medium ad placements on the subject. Hence why police often run large projects going after drunk drivers (they run what’s called Operation Eagle across the state of North Carolina at least once per year to crack down). It’s quite fair and just to remove someone who is unlawfully present in the U.S. who has multiple drunk driving convictions on their record.

Apparently, the judge is more worried about his squishy, misplaced feelings than in providing the lawful protection to United States citizens and legally allowed guests.

Great Legislative Ideas To Fight Hotcoldwetdry We Can All Agree On

Glenn Reynolds, of Instapundit fame, who’s fond of writing “I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who tell me it’s a crisis act like it’s a crisis”, offers up an interesting opinion piece at the USA Today

To fight climate change, start with Leonardo DiCaprio’s private jet lifestyle
Even though Donald Trump withdrew from the Paris climate agreement, there’s plenty Congress can do.

It starts off by noting the hypocrisy of the Warmists, which is worth the read, and gets to legislative offerings

First, we need to tax the “blue zones.” That is, we need to impose steep taxes on property in coastal areas that will be flooded by the sea-level increases that global warming is supposed to bring. By discouraging people from living or building there now, we’ll save ourselves from big problems in the future. Sure it’ll drive down property values, but those values should go down — they’re values for property that’s going to be flooded anyway, remember?

Second, we need to ban taxpayer-funded air travel to conferences. State legislatures could ban reimbursement for travel outside their states; Congress could require that no federal grant money be spent on air travel to conferences and similar events. A lot of academic conferences would fail, but that’s a small price to pay for saving the planet.  And besides, it will encourage the development of Internet-based conference alternatives. A whole new industry might result: Green jobs!

Third, we need to ban private jet travel. At first I thought about just taxing it heavily, but with the planet at stake, that might not be enough. It’s nice that John Travolta can have his own Boeing 707, or that Leonardo DiCaprio can jet around the world speaking against climate change, but the carbon emissions involved set a bad example that outweighs anything he might say. So no more private jets. Bigshots will just have to fly commercial like everyone else, the way they did in the 1950s. (And sorry, Leo, but massive yachts have to go, too). Politicians, too, should have to fly commercial. No more government-funded “executive jets” for them.

He also offers a fourth suggestion, a 25% tax on homes that are twice the size of the average American home. These are all common sense reforms, for which Republican lawmakers in Congress should submit legislation. It would be hilarious when the Democrats object to these solutions to fight ‘climate change.’ They could call it the “Practice What You Preach Act Of 2017.” And I’m sure there are plenty of other things they could institute that would essentially affect mostly just the Warmists.

Senator Mark Warner (D): Nope, No Evidence Of Collusion

So, um, what, exactly, is being investigated at this point?

(CNS News) Jake Tapper, host of CNN’s “State of the Union,” asked Warner: “One of the big questions, of course, is, is there any evidence of collusion that you have seen yet? Is there?”

Warner (D-Va.) responded:

Listen, there’s a lot of smoke. We have no smoking gun at this point. But there is a lot of smoke.

And, again, one of the questions we will have, not only for Director Comey on Thursday, but on Wednesday for Director of National Intelligence (Dan) Coats and NSA, National Security — NSA Director Admiral (Michael) Rogers, I’m going to want to ask them, because there have been reports that the president also talked to both of them in terms of asking them to downplay the Russian investigation.

That would be very concerning to me.

This is reminding me of the Valerie Plame affair. The special prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, already knew who leaked initially: Richard Armitage, by accident. And knew it early. Yet, Fitzgerald kept investigating and investigating, eventually getting Scooter Libby for silly stuff. In this case, the Dems keep investigating and investigating and investigating, but, there is nothing there. No proof. Just unsubstantiated feelings, and massive butthurt from losing the election to Donald Trump.

After all these months, all they have is “smoke.”

Al Gore Confronted By Chris Wallace Over Failed Climate Change Prognostications

Al and his giant carbon footprint didn’t really have an answer

(Daily Caller) “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace confronted former Vice President Al Gore on his 2006 claim that unless drastic action was taken humanity would face a “true planetary emergency” in the next decade.

“Unless we take drastic measures the world would reach a point of no return within 10 years,” which Gore said would precipitate a “true planetary crisis” due to man-made global warming.

Wallace pointed out it’s been 11 years since Gore made the claim in his 2006 film “An Inconvenient Truth,” and there doesn’t seem to be a planetary emergency.

So did Gore admit he was wrong? Of course not!

The movie itself is a mess of politics with sketchy science, with 35 errors. Gore responded

Well we have seen a decline in emissions on a global basis. For the first time they’ve stabilized and started to decline. So some of the responses for the last 10 years have helped, but unfortunately and regrettably a lot of serious damage has been done.

Greenland, for example, has been losing one cubic kilometer of ice every single day. I went down to Miami and saw fish from the ocean swimming in the streets on a sunny day. The same thing was true in Honolulu just two days ago, just from high tides because of the sea level rise now.

We are going to suffer some of these consequences, but we can limit and avoid the most catastrophic if we accelerate the pace of change that’s now beginning.

Wallace should have challenged Gore to provide physical proof of the fish swimming in the streets thing (is there any point in explaining king tides and areas that are close to sea level to start with to Warmists? Na). Surely Gore or one of his posse would have had a smartphone with a camera to document that, right? The film is alarmingly inaccurate after 10 years. But, inaccuracies are irrelevant to the Cult of Climastrology, because this isn’t about science, but politics.

Oh, and money. Gore has made himself very rich pushing his #ClimateScamBS, and would have become even richer had Trump stayed in the Paris Climate agreement. Speaking of that, here’s one graphic that puts it in perspective

It’s all about the money. The UN and other countries do not care about America’s “carbon emissions”, they care about redistributing our money.

One Of London Bridge Jihadis Had Been Reported To Police Twice

So far, the British authorities have refused to release the names of the Islamic jihadis, as they have plenty more raids and arrests to conduct, but that might change today. Here’s something we do know about one of the jihadis

London terrorist had twice been referred to police over his extremist views

One of the three jihadists who murdered revellers in central London on Saturday had been reported to the anti-terror police on at least two occasions, it has been claimed.

A former friend of the terrorist, who was shot dead by police along with two accomplices, claimed he had been radicalised while watching YouTube videos and said he contacted the authorities after becoming concerned over his friend’s extremist views.

A neighbour also claimed she had contacted police in Barking, east London, after the suspect tried to convert her children to Islam and radicalise them. The man is not being named at the request of the police.

The former friend claimed he contacted police after comments the man made about other previous attacks. But he said the authorities had failed to act and take action despite evidence of increasingly extremist views.

The jihadi spent lots of time watching Youtube videos of Islamist radical Ahmad Musa Jibril, who the UK Telegraph refers to as a “hate preacher”, rather than an extremist cleric. I guess they have a limit on how much they can discuss radical Islam.

The jihadi linked to the London Bridge attack is 3rd from the left, between the two jihadis in white.

Yet, the British authorities did nothing. The UK Daily Mail, always a bit more sensational, covers the same story

The security services face difficult questions today over how at least one of the London Bridge terrorists slipped through the intelligence net despite being reported to the police at least twice for his extremism.

The 27-year-old Muslim, known to friends as ‘Abz’, appeared in a TV documentary last year about British jihadists – and was involved in a filmed altercation with police after an ISIS-style flag was unfurled in Regent’s Park, London.

He was caught on camera alongside two notorious preachers who were well known to police and intelligence officials because of their extremist views.

A friend of the suspect had reported him to the anti-terror hotline after he became radicalised by watching extremist videos on YouTube and police were also warned about the suspect radicalising children in a local park two years ago, giving them sweets and money.

Why was nothing done? Neither article really speculates. Could it be the aversion to anyone putting themselves out there which would cause them to be accused of “Islamophobia”, leading to the investigator to be investigated and sanctioned, perhaps fired? There’s a disturbing tolerance for radical Islam in Britain, which has led to such incidents as the Rotherham child rape issue, and known radical jihadis being ignored. Authorities are almost afraid to do anything, lest they be accused and have the government come down on them.

(Fox News) While such reviews remain in preliminary stages, a British intelligence source told Fox News that it is an “all hands at the pump” approach, with Joint Intelligence Operations to be carried out collaboratively with M15, Scotland Yard and the Army’s Special Air Service (SAS) all involved.

The points of focus include: recruiting and deploying even more counterterrorism officers, and pushing through new laws to “round up” suspected terrorists and, if convicted, stripping them of their citizenship as a deterrent.

“There is also early talk that things could go as far as banning the burka,” the source said.

How about just not letting them in to start?

CNN Creates Fake Anti-ISIS Protest

If you’ve ever read The Last Centurion by John Ringo, you’d think this type of thing would stay in fiction. Of course, Ringo was basing his book on reality, and what happens, like this

(Powerline) Mark Antro observed CNN staging a protest by Muslims against ISIS and terrorism, and filmed it. As you watch the video, you can see that this is not a bona fide demonstration that CNN observed and reported on. Rather, the entire event–one could say, the pitifully small event–is being stage-directed by CNN for its cameras, to advance CNN’s narrative. In this case, the story CNN wants to promote is that most Muslims reject extremism. That might be true, but if so, it would be nice to see more than 15 or 20 people participating in a faked event.

As noted, once the filming was done, the “protesters” immediately dispersed. Powerline also shows that the AP ran with the fake protest. CNN’s Brian Stelter is trying to defend the video. It’s not working.

The BBC ran with the “protest”, as well. 20 years ago, the media would have been able to get away with this.

Let’s consider, if it was Fox News manufacturing a protest, or the Daily Caller, Breitbart, etc, can you imagine the coverage that would be given by the major news media calling them out? So far, the rest of the media is saying nothing.

Theresa May: “There’s Far Too Much Tolerance Of Extremism” In The U.K.

As you certainly know, there was yet another attack by Islamic jihadis in the U.K. Saturday. This is the third big attack this year alone, resulting in seven dead and 48 injured. This goes with all the other terrorist attacks across the globe, and all those that have occurred during Ramadan. The Religion of Peace has its annual Ramadan Bombathan counter working overtime. And, perhaps U.K. Prime Minister Teresa May has finally gotten it

(UK Guardian) Theresa May has warned that there has been “far too much tolerance of extremism” in the UK and promised to step up the fight against Islamist terrorism following the London Bridge attack, saying “enough is enough”.

The prime minister struck a sombre and serious tone as she spoke outside No 10 on Sunday morning after chairing a meeting of the Cobra committee following the attack in the centre of the capital in which seven people were killed.

She said internet companies must not allow extremism a place to exist, but that there was also a need to tackle “safe spaces in the real world”, which would require “difficult” conversations.

May also suggested the idea of increased prison terms for terrorism offences, even relatively minor ones.

Islamist militancy was the thread that linked the otherwise unconnected attacks in London Bridge, Westminster and Manchester, she said.

“It is an ideology that is a perversion of Islam and a perversion of the truth,” she said. “Defeating this ideology is one of the great challenges of our time. But it cannot be defeated through military intervention alone.”

She continued: “It is time to say enough is enough. Everybody needs to go about their lives as they normally would. Our society should continue to function in accordance with our values. But when it comes to taking on extremism and terrorism, things need to change.”

The point of terrorism is to change behavior politically. She vowed that the British elections will continue. The point of current Islamist terrorist attacks is also simply just to kill the infidel. Perhaps we need to stop calling them terrorist attacks and start referring to them as jihadi attacks

May said action was needed in the UK as well as overseas. She said: “While we have made significant progress in recent years, there is – to be frank – far too much tolerance of extremism in our country.

“So we need to become far more robust in identifying it and stamping it out across the public sector and across society. That will require some difficult, and often embarrassing, conversations.

“But the whole of our country needs to come together to take on this extremism, and we need to live our lives not in a series of separated, segregated communities, but as one truly United Kingdom. “

Here’s the question: does PM May and the British government, along with the British people, follow through? Might this be the straw that broke the camel’s back? Previous attacks and incidents did not cause Britain to put the full brakes on Islamic extremism. Not the 7/7 attacks. Not the massive Rotherham child sex abuse incident. Not all the rapes and sexual assaults by Islamic refugees and legal migrants. Not the pushing of Sharia law.

She mentions stamping it out across the public sector. What of the public sector, which not only tolerates Islamic extremism, but protects it? When people are investigated and even prosecuted for speaking out about it, the problem is the public sector. You have idiot leftist elected candidates saying that men run off to join ISIS because they’re bored. A top British prosecutor noted that British Muslim groups have been undermining the fight against Islamic extremism, and those groups influence British government policy. So often, the government has a problem just naming it Islamic extremism.

Perhaps this will change in the U.K. Perhaps the government will finally stop protecting and tolerating radical Islam. Time will tell.
