Tillerson Signs Document Agreeing On Need For ‘Climate Change’ Action

On some fronts, Team Trump has been great on smacking down anthropogenic climate change as it relates to the government spending taxpayer money and forcing compliance by citizens and private entities. On the other hand, Trump still hasn’t kept his promise to kill America’s involvement in the Paris Climate Agreement, and this

(LA Times) U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed his name Thursday to a document that affirms the need for international action against climate change, adding further uncertainty to the direction of climate policy under the Trump administration.

The document, signed by Tillerson and seven foreign ministers from Arctic nations meeting this week in Fairbanks, Alaska, says the participants concluded their meeting “noting the entry into force of the Paris agreement on climate change and its implementation, and reiterating the need for global action to reduce both long-lived greenhouse gases and short-lived climate pollutants.”

Called the Fairbanks Declaration, the document says the leaders signed it “recognizing that activities taking place outside the Arctic region, including activities occurring in Arctic states, are the main contributors to climate change effects and pollution in the Arctic, and underlining the need for action at all levels.”

So, um, what exactly is going on?

“In the United States, we are currently reviewing several important policies, including how the Trump administration will approach the issue of climate change. We’re appreciative that each of you has an important point of view and you should know that we are taking the time to understand your concerns. We’re not going to rush to make a decision. We’re going to work to make the right decision,” he added, pausing ever so briefly before ending with the phrase, “for the United States.”

Tillerson was certainly referring to ecological change, but, there is some conflict as to what extent he was discussing ‘climate change.’ This group needs to get it together.

Michelle Obama Has Snit Fit Over Changes To School Lunch Program

You can find tons of tweets with the hashtage #thanksMichelleObama in regards to the changes she required for school lunches. Literally no one liked these lunches at public schools, and the kids were throwing the “food” out, creating lots of “food” waste. But, now

(CNN) Former first lady Michelle Obama expressed concern Friday over the Trump administration’s decision to scale back school meal nutritional requirements.

“You have to stop and think, ‘Why don’t you want our kids to have good food at school? What is wrong with you, and why is that a partisan issue?” Obama said at the annual summit of the Partnership for a Healthier America, a nonprofit that works with the private and public sectors to fight childhood obesity. “Why would that be political?”

Good “food”!

Obama — who did not mention President Donald Trump or first lady Melania Trump by name — emphasized that it’s important to make sure parents think about the importance of healthy school lunches.

“Moms, think about this,” she said. “I don’t care what state you live in. Take me out of the equation; like me, don’t like me, but think about why someone is OK with your kids eating crap.”

Refer back to the previous tweet. Is that something you would eat? Better question: is that something Michelle Obama would eat? Would she serve that to Barack? Would she have allowed the White House chef to serve that to her kids?

“My commitment to these issues is real,” she said. “I picked this issue because there was deep passion for it as a mother. … I’m going to continue working on this.”

Her kids sure didn’t eat that slop at their own high-toned and fancy to-do school. Why didn’t she force that school to serve her kids the same as other kids? She did very much want Everyone Else’s kids to be forced to eat that slop, and still does.

Senator Elizabeth Warren Takes Shots At Trump, Hits Hillary Instead

Senator Fauxcahontas (interestingly, Google doesn’t like to autocomplete that word) made an interesting point while going completely off the reservation during a commencement speech

(The Hill) Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) took multiple swipes at the Trump administration Hillary Clinton during a commencement address Friday, days after President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.

Warren pivoted to Trump Hillary during a speech at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, offering suggestions for specific causes graduates could get more involved in.

“I’m trying to keep this apolitical but I can’t help myself … the principle that no one, no one in this country is above the law and we need a Justice Department, not an obstruction of justice department,” Warren said.

Huh. Of course she couldn’t help herself. She’s bat guano insane, and, like so many with Trump Derangement Syndrome, unable to reign herself in without going TDS at all points. Can’t you see her stopping by a Starbucks and railing to the person handing her her coffee through the window about Trump?

If no one is above the law, then Hillary would have been charged with a variety of big crimes that would have seen any of the rest of us charged. Crimes that many lesser people have been charged, prosecuted, and convicted of. And that’s just in regards to the email server issue, not even getting into the lawlessness of the Clinton Foundation.

James Comey would have recommended charges. Attorney General Loretta Lynch would have, at a minimum, been forced to resign for her meeting on an airplane with the husband of a person under investigation by the FBI. Huma Abedin and many of Hillary’s compatriots would have likewise been charged with a variety of federal national security crimes.

Bill Clinton would have been charged for sexual assault and rape. Heck, Hillary herself stated that his accusers deserved to be believed, in an off-hand sort of way.

Oh, and Elizabeth Warren never would have not gotten those cushy jobs by lying about being part Native American.

Quite Possibly The Dumbest Thing I’ve Read Today

And I’ve been on Salon, Slate, The NY Times, Washington Post, Vox, and the Democratic Underground, but, nothing tops this quote at Breitbart from Northamptonshire Police in Jolly Old England in regards to how they changed their headgear in order to attract more…can you guess?

Northamptonshire Police said in a statement: “Not only will the new bump caps offer a better level of protection, the new headgear means that no longer will male and female officers be issued different headgear with varying safety ratings simply on the basis of gender.

“Engagement has also shown that having to choose gender-based headgear is a barrier to the non-binary transgender community joining the police service.

Oceans Are On The Edge Maybe Might Possibly Of Being Oxygen Starved Or Something

Oceans on edge of being oxygen STARVED due to climate change, researchers fear
THE world’s ocean are at the tipping pint of being starved of oxygen leading to mass sea life extinction which could last a million years, researchers fear.

University of Exeter scientist say the modern ocean is “on the edge of anoxia” – when the oceans are depleted of oxygen. (snip)

She said: “Once you get into a major event like anoxia, it takes a long time for the Earth’s system to rebalance.

“This shows the vital importance of limiting disruption to the carbon cycle to regulate the Earth system and keep it within habitable bounds.”

Of course, this is supposed to play out over the next million years or so, based on things that have happened in the past. Interestingly, the article itself doesn’t necessarily support the apocalyptic headline and subhead, nor does the paper. But, hey, what’s a little scaremongering from the media to spread some awareness?

And they love throwing out the tipping point phrase.

Maxine Waters Latest To Admit There’s No Evidence Of Collusion

This won’t stop Crazy Maxine from pushing her conspiracy theories and demanding impeachment. I think there’s a bylaw in the Democratic Party membership rules that requires at least one screwball being extremely vocal among its elected officials (via Twitchy)

(CNS News) During an interview about the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Senator Ran Paul (R-Ky.) said there is “no evidence” the Trump cmpaign colluded with the Russians, no accusation of any crime involved, and that the story is “built upon a huge myth.”

“It’s sour grapes over the election,” said Paul on Fox & Friends on Wednesday. “The whole Russia thing I think has been propagated by people who are upset they lost the election. … I don’t think there’s been any facts presented that anybody broke the law.”

Senator Paul replied, “Not only is there no evidence that the Trump administration or campaign was connected to Russia or committed any crime — no evidence at all of committing a crime – there’s not even an accusation that I know of, of what crime would potentially be committed.”

We’ve had such Democratic party luminaries such as Diane Feinstein, Adam Schiff, and many others say that they have yet to see any evidence. Nor can they say what law would have been broken. And both Sally Yates and James Clapper reaffirmed that there is no evidence the other day when testifying before Congress.

Look, we know you Liberals are upset that Hillary lost. Perhaps you should aim your ire her way for such a poor campaign, for failing to visit many states like Wisconsin, for passing out on 9/11, and for setting up an illegal homebrew server which passed national security material illegally. On that last, Washington insiders may think that was no big deal, but, the American citizens know they would have been thrown in jail if they did a quarter what Hillary did.

But, it’s time to move on, Liberals. You’re in the realm of the Obama birth certificate conspiracy at this point.

ICE Arrests Over 1,000 Gang Members In Nationwide Sweep

Most would say this is pretty darned good news

(NBC News) Immigration and Customs and Enforcement agents have recently arrested over 1,300 people in a large gang-enforcement operation across the United States, officials said Thursday.

Twenty-one of the 1,378 people arrested were taken into custody on murder related charges, seven were arrested on rape or sexual assault charges, and 280 were arrested on immigration violations, ICE said.

ICE said in a statement Thursday that 1,095 of those arrested in the latest action were confirmed as gang members or affiliated with gangs. Of those arrested, 1,098 were arrested on criminal charges, the agency said.

It’s all part of ICE’s mission, and, get this, 993 were US citizens, and 445 were foreign nationals (meaning mostly illegal aliens). The operation was a 6 week venture, the largest in its history.

The agency has been criticized for what opponents had feared were roundups of undocumented people during the administration of President Donald Trump, who had made illegal immigration a key issue of his campaign.

NBC couldn’t help themselves in dropping that unhinged tidbit in the story.

The agency also said three people arrested were in the past protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), an Obama-era program designed to allow those brought into the United States as children to remain in the country. People in the program are often referred to as “Dreamers” because of its relation to the failed DREAM act.

So, I guess the dream was to be part of a gang and/involved in criminal activity.

The ICE enforcement action concluded last weekend. ICE said that the arrests included 10 members of the gang MS-13 in Fairfax County, Virginia; An operation near San Diego in which 23 alleged gang members were arrested and 17 guns, meth, marijuana and $25,000 in cash was seized; and the arrests of two alleged gang members in San Diego in which cocaine, meth, heroin and four handguns were found.

Would liberals care to complain about ICE working to safeguard the nation when they arrest vicious gang members?

Leader of a Sinking Island Admonishes Trump on Climate Change

The Tuvalu prime minister roasted the US president for his obsession with coal.

The Prime Minister of Tuvalu, an island nation in the Pacific, is calling out President Donald Trump for his myopic views on coal and climate change.

Prime Minister Enele Sopoaga told Motherboard no country is seriously interested in fossil fuel expansion anymore. No one in the US financial community wants to invest in fossil fuels, gas and oil projects are shutting down in the middle East.

Are the only planes allowed to fly into Tuvalu ones powered by unicorn farts?

“The US is going to be left behind. The guy in the White House doesn’t understand that,” Sopoaga said at the UN energy forum in Vienna this week.

When will Tuvalu give up it’s own use of fossil fuels?

Climate change is an urgent concern for Tuvalu, the world’s second smallest country, since it is a mere 10 feet above the Pacific ocean at its highest point. Rising sea levels, driven by man-made climate change, now regularly swamp these tiny islands. Thousands have been forced to move to New Zealand. Without drastic reductions in fossil fuel use, the entire nation will drown.

Tuvalu is partly created by volcanic activity in the past, partly by being a coral atoll. So, it was partly created when the seas were, get this, much higher. And, notice that rarely do any articles note the actual sea rise in the area. They won’t show you data. They won’t say how much the sea is rising. That’s because the actual data would be inconvenient.  Because it has been in the exact normal range for a Holocene warm period, and has even gone negative for a period of time. There’s nothing anthropogenic about it.

And we certainly know this because, if places like Tuvalu really believed, they wouldn’t be building a new airport to stimulate fossil fueled tourism. Nor demanding lots of sweet, sweet, redistributed cash.
