There Are Two Words That Can Solve Hotcoldwetdry Or Something

Can you guess what they are? It should be easy, as it’s a main thing the Cult of Climastrology pushes

These Two Words Can Solve the Climate Crisis

If you want to see a solution to the climate crisis in your lifetime, they might be the two most important words you hear this year: carbon pricing.

Sure, the crisis is a complex challenge with no one solution. But while carbon pricing may not be a silver bullet, it’s one we’re going to need in the chamber—and critically, support is growing all along the political spectrum right when we need it.

Funny how one of their main solutions always boils down to “take money from citizens and private entities and put it in the hands of government, because government is oh so trustable, eh?” And they want carbon taxes, emissions trading schemes, fuel taxes, and so forth.

I have a few words for them. Practice what you preach. Walk the talk. Stop using fossil fuels. Don’t have kids. Attend a cult exit counseling. And two words, get deprogrammed.

Trump Attempts To Galvanize Muslims To Fight Extremists Islam

While Mr. Obama used his first speech in the Middle East to essentially apologize for America and 1st World nations and avoid mentioning the extremism that was and still is growing within Islam, to blast Israel and coddle Palestinians, all the things that make Leftist knees go weak (it wasn’t all bad, he did yammer about women’s rights, something sorely lacking in the Islamic world. Of course, he then scolded people for complaining about the repressive dictates of the Islamic dress code for women), Trump is going to reportedly use his speech to call for something different

Trump aims to unite against terrorism in speech before Muslim leaders

President Donald Trump, in a high-profile speech Sunday, will look to set the US and himself on new footing with the 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide who have heard much of the President’s Islamophobic comments on the campaign trail and little in the way of outreach.

But the main objective of Trump’s address will be to galvanize the Muslim world into confronting the radical Islamist ideology that birthed terrorist groups like ISIS, which Trump has vowed to destroy.

“Our goal is a coalition of nations who share the aim of stamping out extremism and providing our children a hopeful future that does honor to God … Every time a terrorist murders an innocent person, and falsely invokes the name of God, it should be an insult to every person of faith,” Trump will say, according to excerpts of his speech.

“This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects, or different civilizations. This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it. This is a battle between good and evil,” Trump will say. “That means honestly confronting the crisis of Islamist extremism and the Islamist terror groups it inspires.”

We can certainly expect that there will be some softening, such as we see in the “falsely invokes the name of God” bit (which probably will end up being Allah in the speech, but, hey, we know CNN and other Leftist outlets love replace one word with the other). The problem here is that Mr. Trump is directly butting heads with what has been growing for decades, the notion of hardcore, repressive, medieval Islam. He’s going against what is being taught in Islamic schools and in mosques. Fathers teaching sons and daughters Islamism. Mothers obeying. And it starts with little things, which seem perfectly OK to so many Muslims. And it has spread throughout the Islamic world.

But, this seems to be aimed more at getting the Middle East nations to Do Something about rising Islamism and terrorism. Will it work? Well, Trump’s off to a good start

(Washington Post) President Trump and the leaders of six Persian Gulf states joined forces here Sunday to counter global terrorism, reaching an agreement to crack down on terror financing, including the prosecution of individuals who continue sending money to militants.

The accord came during a series of meetings Trump held with several of his Middle Eastern counterparts on the second day of his first foreign trip, as he sought to strengthen U.S. alliances in the region and isolate the Islamic State and other extremist forces.

A centerpiece of Trump’s morning talks in Riyadh was a memorandum of understanding between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council, which includes Saudi Arabia as well as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The agreement includes the creation of a center in Riyadh to fight extremism.

Instead of going on an Apology Tour like Obama, Trump’s looking to actually work towards something. How much will this help? There’s the question that will be answered over time.

Good News: Arctic Doom Pushed Off Till 2040

Isn’t funny how the Doomy Goal Posts Of Doom are constantly moved? Now we have the World Economic Forum, a hotbed of Warmists and extreme Socialists who love to redistribute Other People’s money making a prognostication

The Arctic is now expected to be ice-free by 2040

The last piece of summer sea-ice in the Arctic is expected to melt away in just 23 years, three decades earlier than previously expected.

Scientists now believe that the summer of 2040 will see the end of the frozen north pole after a rapid shrinking of the ice coverage in recent years, according to a report from the Arctic Council.

Seriously, they just can’t help themselves with their prognostications. And, let’s see, from Watts Up With That?

  • 101. June 2008, Ted Alvarez, Backpacker Magazine Blogs: “you could potentially sail, kayak, or even swim to the North Pole by the end of the summer. Climate scientists say that the Arctic ice…is currently on track to melt sometime in 2008.”
  • 106. June 8, 1972, Christian Science Monitor: “Arctic specialist Bernt Balchen says a general warming trend over the North Pole is melting the polar ice cap and may produce an ice-free Arctic Ocean by the year 2000.”
  • 6. “In summer under certain conditions the scientists reckon with a complete melting of the Arctic sea ice. For Europe we expect an increase in drier and warmer summers. Winters on the other hand will be warmer and wetter.” Erich Roeckner, Max Planck Institute, Hamburg, 29 Sept 2005.

And then you had the prediction that 2016 would be ice free. And next year or the year after (2017 or 2018). And so many more, including Gore’s prediction which failed. So, of course, now, after they’ve all been spectacularly wrong, they’re pushing their crystal ball reading out further.

Bummer: Vermont Wants To Limit Noise From Wind Turbines

One would think that uber-Warmist Vermont, with all their belief in ‘climate change’ and sustainability and all the other buzz-words surrounding the topic would be going gung-ho, especially when they have been yammering about going 100% renewable in the near future. But, apparently, the cold dead mackerel of reality has smacked them in the face

Vermont Moves To Put Noise Rule On Wind Industry

Vermont regulators filed a rule Tuesday limiting how loud wind turbines can be when they generate power, angering the wind industry and green energy advocates.

The Vermont Public Service Board proposed a 42-decibel sound limit for wind turbines operating during the day, which would drop to 39 decibels at night. The rule would lower the state’s current 45-decibels per hour limit, which is quieter than a normal conversation, and would also require large wind turbine projects to keep a distance of ten times their heights from nearby homes.

Obviously, this has made Big Wind unhappy

“This rule will make most, if not all, large wind projects unworkable in Vermont, taking this critical clean-energy resource off the table,” the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, a lobbying group that supports the wind industry, told the Associated Press.

If the rule is approved, wind energy supporters claim that Vermont won’t meet its goal of getting 90 percent of its electricity from green sources by 2050.

Interestingly, actual environmental groups support the rule, and even want it to be tougher. This is a case where the negatives from wind power – the noise, the “flickering”, the reduction in property values, the blight on the landscape, leaving giant concrete pads in the wilderness, etc – meet with the pish

News And Observer: Deporting Illegal Aliens Could Affect The Economy Or Something

If you deport all the illegals, there might not be enough around to clean toilets, pick fruits and veggies, and clean liberal houses. This has upset the editorial board of the Raleigh News and Observer

Spike in immigration arrests are arresting the economy

The Trump administration is arresting more people who are in the United States illegally, and that crackdown appears to be stemming the flow of immigrants entering illegally across the southern border. With the rising arrests President Trump is fulfilling a campaign promise, but he may also be undercutting his ability to fulfill his other pledge to increase the annual growth of the economy from 2 percent to 3 percent or more.

The arrests of immigrants here illegally have risen by nearly 40 percent in the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s term as compared to the same period in 2016, according to the office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The uptick comes in the wake of an executive order signed by Trump increasing border security. While the Trump administration says it’s focusing on removing criminals, only 2,700 of the 41,300 arrested had been convicted of violent crimes.

What they forget to say in focusing on “violent crimes” is that most of the rest have been convicted of actual crimes, from low level ones like DUI to serious ones like identity theft and burglary. This has give the NOEB a Sad, so, they find their latest Excuse to support those who are unlawfully present

The crackdown is happening as the nation’s businesses are having difficulty finding employees. The national unemployment rate is at 4.4 percent, awfully close to full employment. Meanwhile, 10,000 baby boomers are turning 65 every day.

As Trump sends people back across the border and discourages others from coming to the United States, he is aggravating the biggest obstacle to economic growth, a labor shortage. Unauthorized immigrants make up about 5 percent of the U.S. civilian workforce, according to Pew Research Center estimates, and reducing that number – about 8 million workers – will drive up costs for produce and construction. Immigrants working illegally in this country have accounted for nearly half of the nation’s 800,000 crop farm workers in recent years.

It will supposedly cause a problem in the construction industry, where there’s a labor shortage. Then they jump to

Labor needs can’t be an excuse for employers not to follow immigration laws that call for verifying a worker’s immigration status, though that has been a common practice.

They should have just stopped there, because unlawful conduct is still unlawful conduct. But, they continue the paragraph

And in theory, fewer immigrant workers should drive up the pay of American workers. But the actual situation is that the economy needs the boost provided by workers here illegally and American workers are not stepping in to fill the labor gap as immigrant workers are pushed out of the economy.

Why would so many employers hire U.S. citizens when they can underpay illegals? And, yes, there is a big dearth in skills for doing lots of these jobs, because everyone has to get a degree from a college nowadays, one which is often worthless for just about any job. It is still no excuse to tolerate people being unlawfully present in the country.

The NOEB briefly discusses expanding work visas, but, they find those lead to workers being “effectively shackled to the employer who sponsors them and vulnerable to abuses in pay and work conditions and sexual assaults.” And that doesn’t happen to illegals? People who can’t complain? What they really want is “comprehensive immigration reform”, otherwise known as amnesty. Easy citizenship for people who broke our laws and didn’t earn citizenship. People who often do not learn the language yet demand that we give them the ability to vote, healthcare, housing, education, food, and money.

Democrats will trot out any excuse to create a big new segment of the population that is beholden to the government and will vote Democrat. That’s what this is all about.

Shades Of Bush: Democrats Desperately Searching For Evidence That Doesn’t Seem To Exist

Jim Geraghty, very much a #nevertrumper, writes an interesting article, wondering when all this supposed evidence will actually arrive after all these months and months and months. The Daily Caller’s Ryan Pickrell, points out two paragraphs that explain exactly why no evidence of collusion will never show

Are any Democratic lawmakers starting to fear that they’re not going to find that evidence? The intelligence community is presumably always watching the Russian government as closely as they can. The FBI counterintelligence guys presumably track Russian agents on our soil as much as possible. You figure the NSA can track just about any electronic communication between Russians and figures in the Trump campaign. If there was something sinister and illegal going on between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, the U.S. government as a whole had every incentive in the world to expose that as quickly as possible.

They didn’t expose it before Election Day, they didn’t expose it before the Electoral College voted, they didn’t expose it before Inauguration Day … How many months have the best investigators in the United States been digging into this?

One would think that there would be some actual evidence by this time. Nothing from the CIA, NSA, FBI, or any of the other alphabet soup intelligence agencies. Obama was spying on many Trump associates: is it too hard of a stretch to think there was some spying going on against Trump himself, considering that Obama spied on journalists, at the time a Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich, and there are lots of allegations that Obama spied on other members of Congress. Of course, there was little interest in the Leftist media to investigate those allegations and rumors and accusations.

Unlike, say, Benghazi and the Hillary email server investigation, nothing really new has shown up after all this time. For all the caterwauling, Democrats keep having to answer that they have no evidence. Even Maxine Waters has had to admit it.

This is reminiscent of what happened with George W. Bush, magnified 1000 times. You had a group that was accusing him of LIHOP (let it happen on purpose) and/or MIHOP (made it happen on purpose), to use the 9/11 Truther nutty acronyms. They had all sorts of theories for why Bush was involved, such as wanting to steal all the Aghany oil. For all their investigations, which included some nutters in Congress, they found nothing but Conspiracy Theories (that were easily debunked).

Then you had all the CPs on Iraq, which substituted malevolence for what was really just, at best, poor planning. Democrats attacked Bush non-stop when it became politically convenient (meaning they were doing it with the 2004 elections upcoming.) They never found any evidence that this was some big Conspiracy, such as their allegation that this was about stealing Iraq’s oil, payback for Saddam attempting to have George H.W. Bush assassinated, and more. They beat the bandwagon of the so-called Downing Street papers, but, after all those years, nothing.

Democrats attacked GWB non-stop on everything, turning anthills into Everest. Sadly, Bush never really responded, and didn’t work to defend himself nor his policies. The fact that Trump has torn up the playbook which allows Dems to be raving nutjobs in attacking Republicans while Republicans stay silent enrages Dems even more.

Geraghty ends with

With this desperate, all-or-nothing mindset, they will always insist that the evidence to take down Trump is waiting to be found, just around the next corner…

This is a game that they just can’t help playing, and will not end, because they can’t act like adults and accept that Trump beat Hillary.

Too Good To Check? Putin Was Targeting Hillary As Payback

Lots of anonymous sources, but, could this be something? And, if it is, why so little Credentialed Media coverage?

(Daily Caller)  U.S. intelligence overheard a Russian operative brag about targeting Hillary Clinton in the upcoming 2016 presidential election as payback for an “influence campaign” the former secretary of state ran against Vladimir Putin five years earlier.

Senior intelligence officials told Time that a Russian military intelligence officer with GRU said his group “was going to cause chaos in the upcoming U.S. election” to “pay Clinton back for what President Vladimir Putin believed was an influence operation she had run against him” during Russian elections.

There’s no doubt that Russia attempted to interfere with our elections. Heck, we’ve done it to them. The U.S. has done it to other countries. Whatever your opinion of Mr. Obama, he is a former two term POTUS, and he just interfered with the French elections, and attempted interference during Brexit. Such is world statecraft.

But, this puts a different spin on this whole thing. If any other Republican had been running, Putin would still probably have gone after Hillary. And, had she won, it is easy to ponder that Putin would have caused more havoc, as Russia probably has lots of her hacked emails.
