Liberal Science: Women Aren’t The Only Ones Who Get Periods

“There are a lot of people who have never considered what it’s like to get your period while not identifying as a woman and I have seen a lot of educational and respectful conversations between commenters on my thread that give me a lot of hope for the future,” Clemmer continued. “My favorite reactions, however, are and always will be the response, I get from fellow trans and non-binary folks who have written to me to say that because of my poem, they feel less alone in the world. For me, there’s no greater motivation and honor than that.”

The person in the photo is a woman with female biological plumbing. Regardless of which gender she identities with, she’s biologically female, and can have periods. Biological males cannot.

But, hey, everything is “powerful” in Moonbat World when basic science is fluid.

New Warmist Prognostication: A One In Three Chance Of Record Rainfall

It’s time for yet another in a long line of scary doom-predictions from the Cult of Climastrology

Climate change brings one-in-three chance of record rainfall, warns Met Office

There is now a one-in-three chance of record rainfall hitting part of England and Wales each winter, according to new Met Office study which highlights the risk of major flooding as the climate warms.

The researchers warned that global warming would change the risk of extreme weather and suggested politicians should bear this in mind when planning to protect the public, businesses and infrastructure.

A series of storms in the winter of 2013/14 caused widespread flooding and about £1bn-worth of damage in the Thames River valley.

So, because Weather Happened (and it was harsh winter weather, but, hey, according to CoC dogma, winter is now caused by warming greenhouse gases) through one winter, Doom. Anyhow, can you guess how they know this?

Writing in the journal Nature Communications, the Met Office team said they had used computer models of the climate to show that those storms “could have been anticipated”.

Computer models, of course. Interestingly, the very same computer models failed to “anticipate” the harsh winter weather beforehand. But, then, they throw in a disclaimer

The researchers, led by Dr Vikki Thompson, added that these estimates of the risks were “only valid in the current climate”.

“Future climate change is likely to alter the chances of extremes,” they wrote. “This is a significant risk and could be used to inform decision makers on the likelihood and intensity of unprecedented rainfall events in the near future to protect the public, business and infrastructure from extreme rainfall and flooding.”

Of course, what they’re doing here is to protect their future scare-mongering predictions from what always happens: people look back and say “um, yeah, you were wrong. Very wrong. Again.” They’ve given themselves an out.

Unsurprisingly, the Met Team is using this to push more Central Government authority and dominance. Surprise?

Dems Settle On New Slogan: “A Better Deal” Or Something

Over the previous eight years, Democrats controlled the House for Mr. Obama’s first two years, and squandered that control with nutty big government citizen controlling legislation. They held the Senate till the 2014 elections. They held the White House for those eight years, obviously. Their policies are what led to the election of Donald Trump. Now, they want to trot out their new slogan

(The Hill) Democrats in both chambers will gather in rural Virginia on Monday to unveil a new national messaging campaign aimed at easing the economic strain on working-class Americans –– and propelling their party back to power in order to check an unpopular president in Donald Trump.

Behind Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the Democrats are hoping their latest messaging pitch will prove an effective contrast to the Republicans’ policy agenda and pull voters to their side in next year’s midterm elections.

Trump soared to power last year on a simple promise to “make America great again,” and the Democrats have pulled a page from that strategy with a no-frills slogan vowing to provide “a better deal” for a middle class that’s struggled to keep pace with globalization and the march of technology. Like Trump’s campaign, the Democrats’ message suggests both that the status quo is failing working Americans and that the other party is to blame.

The policies of the Democrats tend to hurt the middle class, while keeping the lower income class down and under the thumb/beholden to Government, while at the same time enriching the rich, despite their talking points. No class did better under Mr. Obama than The Rich.

In its first phase, released Monday morning, the Democrats’ campaign focuses on three broad areas: creating new jobs; lowering prescription drug costs; and restraining the power of corporations. Notably absent from the agenda are the social issues –– things like reproductive rights, immigration reform and gun control –– that have, at times, defined the party.

Notably absent is reducing the power of Government over the lives of citizens, but, then, that’s what the Democrats stand for. But, don’t worry, gun control/confiscation, abortion, etc., will soon rear their heads.

“What motivates us is that the costs of living keep rising, but families feel their incomes and wages aren’t keeping up,” Pelosi wrote in a Washington Post op-ed published Sunday evening.

Who was president the last eight years? Whose policies tend to put a big burden on the middle class? Whose policies support illegal aliens and foreign workers over U.S. citizens?

“Special interests are given special treatment, while hard-working Americans are ignored.”

You mean like Planned Parenthood, Hollywood, unions, and others? Or is she referring to all the special interests which received waivers from having to participate in Obamacare?

The venue –– a town park in rural Berryville, Va., roughly 60 miles northwest of Washington –– is no accident. The region has long been controlled by the Republicans, but Clinton won the district last year by a 10-point margin and GOP Rep. Barbara Comstock, the current House member, is near the top of the Democrats’ target list in 2018.

That’s as far as they can make it when it comes to “rural”, 60 miles, and still in the I-66-81-70 triangle. The devil’s in the details for the slogan, and this is about Progressive populism, and would better as “A Better Deal For Government.”

Still, the world has a long way to go, he warned. While the Paris agreement sent a powerful signal to the business community that protecting the Earth is a priority, many companies are failing to scale back their carbon footprint.

“What’s missing is enough political will. But political will is itself a renewable resource,” said Gore.

Put into context, the political will he’s referring to is that of the Government passing laws and regulations that force people (other than Gore, of course) to reduce their carbon footprints. To become authoritarian.

When asked what Canada can do to reduce pollution and environmental damage around the world, he suggested much of what’s already known: shifting to renewable energy, driving electric vehicles, and moving to organic, sustainable agriculture and sustainable forestry.

This is the guy who has tons of mansions, constantly flies around the world on private fossil fueled jets, is not know to have renewable energy at his homes, has many fossil fueled vehicles, and has not gone vegan himself. A guy with a massive carbon footprint, which he (supposedly) offsets by purchasing carbon offsets. Rather than living the Warmist life. And let’s not forget that Gore profits from fossil fuels. And from people purchasing carbon offsets.

Is it any wonder so many think this is all just a scam?

ICE Director To Sanctuary Cities: ICE Is Open For Business

Where is one of the best places to find illegal aliens? That’s right, sanctuary cities. The acting ICE director has a message

(Fox News) The acting ICE director is vowing to use new resources to target undocumented immigrants in sanctuary cities – a move likely to hit resistance from mayors and local law enforcement who previously have refused to cooperate with federal authorities.

ICE Director Thomas Homan told The Washington Examiner he thinks sanctuary cities like New York and San Francisco are “ludicrous” and plans to direct extra agents to those areas.

“What I want to get to is a clear understanding from everybody, from the congressmen to the politicians to law enforcement to those who enter the country illegally, that ICE is open for business,” Homan said.

As well it should be. Illegal aliens are, at a base, trespassing. If you came home and a bunch of folks had started camping in your back yard, and all had some sob stories, would you let them stay? Or would you call the police to have them removed? You can bet supporters of illegal aliens would have them removed.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions also traveled Friday to Philadelphia, one of the nation’s biggest sanctuary cities, to call out the local government for not cooperating with federal immigration policies. He said such cities “aren’t giving sanctuary to law-abiding people but criminals” and urged Philadelphia to “reconsider carefully the harm they are doing to their citizens.”

In a CBS News article, he also said that “They are not allowed to come without permission” and “if they commit a crime while they’re in here, my goodness, what right do they have to demand that they not be deported?”

“As Director Homan stated, uncooperative jurisdictions have a higher rate of criminal alien releases than in places that honor ICE detainers,” the ICE official told Fox News. “As a result, ICE is forced to focus additional resources to conduct at-large arrests in the field in these non-cooperative areas.”

One of the big problems with sanctuary cities is that they very often refuse to hold illegal aliens who have committed serious crimes, including felonies like rape, murder, assault, arson, etc., for a mere 48 hours as per immigration detainers. It’s not just illegals who have committed DUIs and “smaller” crimes they cities are letting go.

That said, I still think there should be a change in the law which would make immigration holds actual warrants, things that jurisdictions have to follow under penalty of law. Stop giving sanctuary jurisdictions a choice.

Hot Take: ‘Climate Change’ Is Driving Child Marriage Risks In Bangladesh

With climate change driving child marriage risks, Bangladesh fights back

Climate change-driven extreme weather – from flooding and mudslides to blistering heat – is accelerating migration to Bangladesh’s cities, raising the risks of problems such as child marriage, according to UNICEF’s head of Bangladesh programmes.

“In Bangladesh, climate change is in your face. You can’t avoid it. You can see it happening,” said Sheema Sen Gupta in an interview in London with the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

“Every year you have cyclones, floods, landslides. It’s a given. It’s now part of everyday living, and the clearest thing you see (from it) is rural to urban migration.”

But surging migration to cities by rural families no longer able to make a living from farming or fishing brings other threats, from worsening urban overcrowding to child marriage, as families seek to keep girls “safe” in a new environments.

“I hesitate to say climate change and urbanisation are the major causes of child marriage. But they do compound it and make it a bit more difficult to intervene,” said Sen Gupta, who has been in Bangladesh for seven months and previously worked for UNICEF in India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Ghana and Somalia.

Or, it could be that Bangladesh is a 3rd World Shithole developing nation with the 4th largest population of Muslims in the world, with an ever growing percentage of those who are radicalized and approve and even push child marriage. And, even beyond that, developing nations tend to have a much higher percentage of marrying young. Like below the age of 18 young.

But, for all the blamestorming, the number of child marriages is down, due to several initiatives, including a law which bans girls being married under the age of 18.

But, hey, let’s blame ‘climate change’, because why not.
