Unbelievable: Chapel Hill Officer Suspended Over Tattoo

This is insane, as a follow up to the story earlier in the day

(WRAL)  Some emails to Blue noted that one Chapel Hill officer at the scene of the protest had a tattoo on his arm for the Three Percenters, a militia group that pledges armed resistance to any effort to curtail constitutional rights.

The officer, identified as Cole Daniels, “expressed regret that his tattoo has been associated with groups that perpetuate hatred and violence,” Blue said in an email sent Wednesday to WRAL News by Chapel Hill spokeswoman Catherine Lazorko.

“We understand the concerns regarding the negative interpretations of the tattoo and regret it was displayed. This will not occur again,” Blue said. “We also want to emphasize that the negative interpretation of that tattoo is inconsistent with the values and mission of our department. We expect employees to abide by our values in the performance of their duties for the Town.”

UPDATE: Town Manager Roger Stancil said in an email Wednesday evening to Town Council members that Daniels was placed on paid leave Monday. Concerns over his tattoo led the police department “to question his ability to function effectively as a police officer within this community,” the email says. The department is conducting an internal investigation into the matter.

Yet, the Chief Of Police, who told officers to stand down in the face of criminal violations, is sitting pretty and seemingly in no danger. You can also bet that some officers have worse tattoos. And that a lawsuit will soon be coming if Officer Daniels is terminated.

Illegal Aliens Speak Out After Big Bust Or Something

(Reuters) – U.S. agents have arrested 160 employees of a trailer manufacturing plant in north Texas who they said violated immigration laws and were working illegally in the United States.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement said late Tuesday its agents raided a plant owned by Load Trail in Sumner, about 110 miles (180 km) northeast of Dallas.

“Businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens create an unfair advantage,” Katrina Berger, an agent for ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations unit, said in a statement.

No charges have been filed yet, but, as I’ve stated many, many times, companies that knowingly hire illegal aliens should have the book thrown at them as a way of discouraging others from hiring illegals. Anyhow, then we get this idiocy

Immigrants who witnessed immigration raid speak out

Today, people who were arrested or had family members arrested during the immigration raid yesterday finally spoke out. (at least they didn’t say they were “breaking their silence.” That one is plain stupid)

One woman, undocumented, who didn’t want her identity revealed said she was one of five women arrested during yesterdays raid.

All five were set free since they have young children, and nobody to care for them.

She said, “we were very scared since nobody knew what was happening, nobody imagined this would happen, so long working at the plant and we’ve never seen anything like that”

After hearing about Tuesday’s raid attorneys from all over Texas showed up at the Iglesia Evangelica Filadelfia church in Paris to provide free legal counseling to those who were affected.

First, this wouldn’t be a problem if they weren’t unlawfully present in the United States. Second, why is the media publishing pieces that are sympathetic to those who are breaking our laws and violating our sovereignty? That one’s more rhetorical. We know why.

Texts Show Chapel Hill Police Told To Stand Down On Silent Sam Protest

Once again, regardless of your opinion of the Silent Sam statue, its connotations, its creator, and so forth, it is against the law to damage and destroy state property. What happened was a criminal violation, and the police just stood down. And give very left leaning WRAL kudos for publishing this article, though they do attempt to soft peddle it a bit. A few other local news sites published, as well

Texts show police chief told Chapel Hill officers to stay back amid ‘Silent Sam’ protest

Police Chief Chris Blue instructed Chapel Hill officers to stand aside last week as protesters pulled down a controversial Confederate monument on the University of North Carolina campus, a review of Blue’s text messages and emails shows.

Following a public records request, WRAL News obtained about 400 pages of emails and texts sent to and from Blue on Aug. 20-21 – before, during and after the protest that led to the toppling of the “Silent Sam” statue.

Blue’s texts show he was closely monitoring what unfolded at McCorkle Place on campus on Aug. 20 and was relaying directions to his officers. It remains unclear who sent some texts to Blue and received his messages in return.

Just to be clear, Blue is the police chief for the city of Chapel Hill, as opposed to the campus police for UNC Chapel Hill, where the statue was located.

When someone lets him know officers on bicycles are already doing that, he replies, “Ok. Monitor the masked folks. Keep our folks off McCorkle place for now.”

“Need to make sure our plainclothes guys are really looking out for counter protesters to arrive,” Blue texts at 7:35 p.m. “This thing is all over tv and internet. The longer they take with the statue the more time Folks have to arrive.”

“We connected with them. They are going to keep us posted,” someone replies.

That sure makes it look like the Chapel Hill PD were more concerned about any counter protesters showing up while at the same time backing the protesters.

At 9 p.m., Blue texts, “Let’s give them lots of space.” That was followed by, “Yes but do not engage w Crowd at statue. Stay way out.”

When he tells his officers that UNC officers also are backing away from “Silent Sam,” someone texts him, “Copy our folks did as well.”

“Wral shows CHPD guys too close. Back up,” Blue replies.

“Silent Sam” came down shortly after those texts went out.

Stand down. Let people commit crimes. Blue received many email, which were released in the doc drop, including

“Any police force who will stand by, watch a crime committed, and do nothing about it, have failed in their sworn duties to the people,” William Richardson wrote.

“When do you get to decide what laws you will enforce? If this is what you call law enforcement it is time for you to retire,” a man named “Danny” emailed.

But, Blue was Very Concerned with something else (picture of officer in the article near bottom)

I’m thinking the Founders would have approved of armed resistance to efforts to curtail constitutional rights.

Anyhow, this being ultra loopy lefty Chapel Hill, absolutely nothing will come of this, as you can bet the city will support Blue in telling his officers to stand down while destruction of state property was committed. UNC Board of Governors member Thom Goolsby has been critical of the police response on Aug. 20, saying the officers were “highly derelict” in their duty “by standing back and allowing these outside criminal elements to riot and destroy state property.” But, nothing will happen. And, most likely, any of the protesters later charged will have those charges dismissed.

The police did move in after the statue was brought down and defaced.

State Which Uses Lots Of Fossil Fuels Vows To Move State Off Fossil Fueled Electric Grid ‘Cause ‘Climate Change’

Let’s take a look

California’s assembly has voted to move the state’s electricity completely off fossil fuels.

The state assembly on Tuesday passed S.B. 100, a proposal to transition California to 100 percent emissions-free electricity sources by 2045. Amid heavy lobbying from environmentalists and other groups, the bill passed, 43 to 32.

The vote comes on the heels of a sobering report detailing the effects of climate change on the state. California stands to lose up to two-thirds of its beaches to erosion, and a similar portion of its water supply, depending on how quickly the world reduces greenhouse gas emissions, the report found. Average summer temperatures are set to rise between 5 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average area burned during yearly wildfires would increase 75 percent.

That report is beyond over the top in scaremongering.

Hawaii last year became the first U.S. state to commit to 100 percent clean energy. But a move by California, which is the most populated state in the union and the world’s fifth-largest economy, could be game-changing in moving the U.S. to a cleaner energy economy.

“California would really become a shining state in terms of creating a real example for the rest of the country to look toward for creating an alternative to fossil fuels and having a healthy, growing economy,” said Dan Jacobson, state director for Environment California, which supports the bill.

Interestingly, what they’re aiming at is natural gas, for which California gets 49% of its power from. But, um, what of the massive use of fossil fuels that powers all the limos, private jets, and big SUVs for the celebrities and politicians, and all the little people cars, not too mention all the state, county, and local fleets of FF vehicles? And, how about all the FF airplanes that fly in to California, bringing supplies and tourists? Will those be banned?

Anyway, if they do make this happen, it will be amusing watching the complaints from Californians as they deal with rolling brownouts and blackouts.

Surprise: UN Climate Scientists Want To End Capitalism

Scientists Warn the UN of Capitalism’s Imminent Demise

Capitalism as we know it is over. So suggests a new report commissioned by a group of scientists appointed by the UN Secretary-General. The main reason? We’re transitioning rapidly to a radically different global economy, due to our increasingly unsustainable exploitation of the planet’s environmental resources.

Climate change and species extinctions are accelerating even as societies are experiencing rising inequality, unemployment, slow economic growth, rising debt levels, and impotent governments. Contrary to the way policymakers usually think about these problems, the new report says that these are not really separate crises at all.

Rather, these crises are part of the same fundamental transition to a new era characterized by inefficient fossil fuel production and the escalating costs of climate change. Conventional capitalist economic thinking can no longer explain, predict, or solve the workings of the global economy in this new age, the paper says.

Those are the stark implications of a new scientific background paper prepared by a team of Finnish biophysicists. The team from the BIOS Research Unit in Finland were asked to provide research that would feed into the drafting of the UN Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR), which will be released in 2019.

Part of this is about

“More expensive energy doesn’t necessarily lead to economic collapse,” Järvensivu told me. “Of course, people won’t have the same consumption opportunities, there’s not enough cheap energy available for that, but they are not automatically led to unemployment and misery either.”

Which means that the forced governmental transition to really expensive energy won’t necessarily lead to economic collapse, just close to, which means we need that new government controlled economic system, as we see in report itself, as Eric Worrell points to

… Rapid economic transition requires proactive governance – markets cannot accomplish the task

It is clear from these examples that strong political governance is required to accomplish the key transitions. Market-based action will not suffice – even with a high carbon price. There must be a comprehensive vision and closely coordinated plans. Otherwise, a rapid system-level transformation toward global sustainability goals is inconceivable.

It’s all about Big Controlling Government. Don’t let anyone on the Warmist side who’s yammering about science distract you.

Guy Who’ll Probably Win In California Gov Race Wants Universal Healthcare For Illegal Aliens

To the editor: Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and County Supervisor Hilda Solis in December announced the creation of a $10-million legal aid fund to “hire lawyers to defend local immigrants without legal status.” (“A $10-million fund will help immigrants fight deportations. But should it help those with violent criminal convictions?” April 17)

My street hasn’t been swept for years. When I tried to find out why, I was told that my area is not “on the list” because there are no longer enough machines and people to drive them. Services that I continue to pay for have been stopped.

If there is enough money around to help illegal immigrants, surely there is enough to begin sweeping my dirty street again. Shouldn’t citizens come before illegal residents?

Oh, and here’s California Senator Kamala Harris

So, it looks like California is having a wee bit of a problem with maintaining the state and all the municipalities (welcome to poopy San Francisco!) along with housing issues. So, hey

(The Hill) California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), who is running for governor, said in an interview released Tuesday that he would like to see the state pay for universal healthcare for all illegal immigrants.

“I did universal healthcare when I was mayor — fully implemented, regardless of pre-existing condition, ability to pay, and regardless of your immigration status,” Newsom told the podcast Pod Save America, referencing his stint as San Francisco’s mayor. “I’d like to see that extended to the rest of the state.

“San Francisco is the only universal healthcare plan for all undocumented residents in America. Very proud of that,” Newsom added, “And we proved it can be done without bankrupting the city.”

Newsom said the effort needs to be led by the “governor’s office” not the state legislature.

Yes, San Fran, a city where people poop and urinate wherever they feel like it, as well as opening shoot up drugs, leaving their used needles, which could be swimming in diseases, all over the streets. It’d be nice if all this money spent on illegal aliens went to actual U.S. citizens, wouldn’t it?

And, remember, California just shot down Medicare for all because they found out that the cost would be well above the overall budget for all California operations. Like twice the state budget.

Super “Green” California Seems Pretty Reliant On Imported Fossil Fuels

This is the same state in which multiple cities and counties sued Exxon-Mobile and other fossil fuels companies over ‘climate change’

(Daily Caller) There’s a growing call for California Gov. Jerry Brown to stop issuing oil and natural gas leases in the state, with some even arguing that all state fossil fuel production should be shuttered.

Yet continuing the current trend of dwindling in-state crude production wouldn’t mean California stops using oil. The state, ranked as one of the “greenest” in the country, would still use lots of oil, it would just come from other countries.

In fact, more than 56 percent of the crude oil received by California refineries were extracted in foreign countries, according to California Energy Commission data. California, once the third-largest oil state, is now more reliant than ever on foreign oil.

The biggest share of California’s oil imports come from Saudi Arabia, which makes up 29 percent of foreign crude flowing into the state. More than 70 percent of foreign oil imports to the state come from OPEC members, including Iraq, Kuwait and Ecuador.

California’s share of oil coming from foreign sources has ballooned since the late 1990s. Decades of state policies restricting drilling played a role, as did declining production in Alaska

All this while banning new offshore drilling and drilling in California, with production having dropped 56 percent since 1985.

Two San Francisco Bay area officials wrote an op-ed calling on Brown “to make a plan to phase out oil and gas production in California, to clean up our cities, towns and agricultural lands, and protect our people.”

Mayor Elizabeth Patterson of Benicia and Vice Mayor Melvin Willis of Richmond joined 183 other local officials from 31 California counties asking Brown to end fossil fuel production in the state.

These cities should lead the way and ban all gas stations, and only use renewables and 100% electric vehicles for the city. And for their own personal vehicles. Walk the talk.

Student Arrested For Going Unhinged Over MAGA Hat

Funny how it always seems that the ones who start the violence are Leftists

(Fox News) A high school senior in California was arrested Monday after she went on a profanity-laced tirade against a classmate for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Union Mine High School student, Jo-Ann Butler, 17, was suspended for one week and faces two counts of battery: one against her classmate for grabbing his MAGA hat and the other against her English teacher, whom she slapped as he escorted her out of the classroom in an altercation captured on a cellphone, according to CBS Sacramento.

“That’s a racist and hateful symbol,” Butler said, adding she took out her anger at the student to “wake people up in some type of way, because it’s not cool the environment our classroom is in.”

The school district’s policy allows students to wear political gear.

According to El Dorado Sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Prencipe, Butler started “verbally berating” her classmate for wearing the pro-President Trump hat.

She went on to grab the hat and throw it on the ground, at which point the teacher told her to leave. She did, then came back and started arguing again with the student with the hat. Then she decided that slapping the teacher would be a good idea when he got between them. She was then escorted off the property to a juvenile hall, and formal charges are expected this week.

Funny how liberals are constantly showing their tolerance.
