Evening Music – James Gang – Rocky Mountain Way

So, I actually went back and deleted about 500K comments and all the trackbacks/pingbacks, cleared metadata, and some other stuff to reduce the amount of data on the server. And will most likely continue to periodically delete comments older than 100 days. No one looks at them, and comments are closed after 10 days anyhow (to avoid spammers). I probably should have looked at how much data there was overall in the disk to see how much it went down. Too bad there’s no way to significantly cut down the data from old posts. I also turned off one Jetpack function.

Maybe this is helping a bit? You tell me. I haven’t seen the brief “lost connection” messages when typing posts today. I definitely appreciate your patience and continued support.

A Bunch Of Democrats Demand Trump Protect Jew Hating Global Sumud Flotilla

Are any of these same Democrats demanding that Hamas release the hostages?

Full list of Democrats urging Trump admin to protect Gaza flotilla

Nearly 20 Democratic members of Congress are asking President Donald Trump to protect the Global Sumud Flotilla, which aims to deliver aid to Gaza.

Newsweek reached out to the office of Rashida Tlaib, the Michigan Democrat leading the letter, and the State Department for comment via email. (snip)

Tlaib and 18 other Congressional Democrats urged the Trump administration to take action to protect the flotilla. The letter comes as Democrats remain divided about how the government should approach the conflict. Many progressive Democrats have called for limits on Israel aid amid the ongoing conflict, while more moderate Democrats have generally been more supportive of Israel. (snip)

Tlaib and the other Congressional Democrats urged the Trump administration to “do everything in your power to ensure the safety of the flotilla and its unarmed, civilian passengers” while also addressing the “issue at the root of the voyage.”

“The law is clear: any attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla or its civilians is a clear and blatant violation of international law. The United States has an obligation to protect its citizens from foreign attack,” the letter reads. “We call on you to deter any further hostile actions against the flotilla and ensure the successful completion of its humanitarian mission.”

Yeah, well, enter the waters of a foreign nation without permission and you get what’s coming to you. If it’s like last time, they get a sandwich, a hearty fair thee well, and a fossil fueled plane ride home

  • Rashida Tlaib (Michigan)
  • Greg Casar (Texas)
  • Nydia Velázquez (New York)
  • Lateefah Simon (California)
  • Jesús García (Illinois)
  • Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York)
  • Delia Ramirez (Illinois)
  • Pramila Jayapal (Washington)
  • Summer Lee (Pennsylvania)
  • Mark Pocan (Wisconsin)
  • Al Green (Texas)
  • Becca Balint (Vermont)
  • Ayanna Pressley (Massachusetts)
  • Maxine Dexter (Oregon)
  • Ilhan Omar (Minnesota)
  • Hank Johnson (Georgia)
  • Bonnie Watson Coleman (New Jersey)
  • Maxwell Frost (Florida)
  • James McGovern (Massachusetts)

List doesn’t surprise, eh?

Huh.

Weird.

PRC School Board Shuts Down Mom Stripping To Bikini In Protest Of Gender Confused In Bathrooms

We’ve seen school boards shut down parents many times when they’ve tried to read the unhinged LGBTQwhatever books that are being read to children in classrooms. The Supreme Court even heard arguments over allowing parents to opt out. Now we have

Woman disrobes at California school board meeting in protest of locker room policies

Local California women’s rights activist Beth Bourne protested the policy allowing transgender students access to girls’ locker rooms by stripping down to a bikini at a local school board meeting.

Bourne, who chairs the Moms for Liberty in Yolo County, took part in the Davis Joint Unified School Board meeting on Sept. 18 where she highlighted school policies on locker room access.

“I’m a parent in the Davis Unified School District, and I’m here today to talk about the policies you have for the locker rooms in the junior high schools. So Emerson, Holmes, Harper Junior High. Right now, we require our students to undress for PE class. So I’m just going to give you an idea what that looks like when I undress,” Bourne said before taking off her clothes to reveal a bikini.

She continued, “So right now, this school district is saying that, depending on a child’s transgender identity, that they can pick which bathroom they want. So we have, right now at this school district, we have children self-identifying into different bathrooms just based off of their—”

Bourne was interrupted by members of the board, who ordered her to stop.

After she tried to continue the board took a recess. After coming back 5 minutes later she tried to resume and go to her bikini, and the board called a 30 minute recess, and moved on to a new subject when they came back. And, apparently, the board called police and are considering taking additional steps

“If the adults don’t feel comfortable watching someone, and I’m a 50-year-old woman, how can they expect girls to feel comfortable doing that in the locker room?” Bourne said. “I thought I made a really good point.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if the board banned her from attending future meetings. School boards do not want to hear the language in the books they authorize to be read in classes (and, sometimes, it’s just the unhinged teacher who chooses them), nor do they want to see someone stripping to a bikini. Yet, they want to expose young children to the books and young girls to the gender confused in their bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers.

Who’s Up For A New Monetary Scam To “Finance” Climate (scam) Losses?

It’s always some sort of scheme

Would The US Government Want To Issue CAT Bonds At Scale To Finance Losses From Climate Change?

Climate week just concluded in New York City. Instead of joining the chorus on how the US has withdrawn from the conversation, I thought I might write about something constructive. I have always worried that climate losses will eventually be socialized via greater deficits and eventually via greater taxation. What might an alternative look like? A private sector funded financing vehicle that can transfer risk from victims to a more risk loving investor, in exchange for appropriate returns. That is, something like CAT bonds.

For those who may not be familiar, CAT bonds are effectively insurance on tightly defined catastrophic climate events. The actual structure is a bit complicated. An SPV (special purpose vehicle) is formed by an insurance company. Investors pay let’s say $100 million to the SPV. This money will be used to pay out insured parties should the insurance company have to pay up if disaster strikes. Let’s say the disaster is a 7.0 earthquake in a specific tightly defined region. The cash that comes in from investors is usually invested in US treasuries, which pay say 5% per annum.

The insurance company hands off the premiums it receives from selling coverage of $100 million to the SPV. Let’s say that the premium is 6.5% on $100 million. The cumulative returns of 6.5% plus 5% on T-bills invested is passed on to investors every year till the disaster strikes. If disaster does not strike, the $100 million is returned to CAT bond investors at the end of the pre-arranged term, say at the end of three years. If the earthquake of 7.0 or higher does strike, the insurance company pays off the $100 million to insured parties.

So, they are very complicated, meaning hard to track the money. And, earthquakes are “climate” disasters?

The mechanism works because the returns to investors from a portfolio of CAT bonds exceed the loss payouts. To understand the nuances associated with the idea of US issuing CAT bonds at scale, I approached Andrew Poreda, and Sean McShea, friends and thoughtful commentators on climate finance. Their firm, Sage Advisory, has just launched a private fund consisting of traditional fixed income investments and CAT bonds. Before we hear from Andrew and Sean, a quick primer for folks who are not familiar with CAT bonds.

Yeah, I’ve heard enough. There’s always some scheme to take money from Some People and give it to Other People based on a manufactured cult scam. And, I’m pretty sure Trump would be a hard no on this.

Israel Agrees With Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan. What About Hamas?

So, it’s only the loony tunes hyper left wacko who are against the peace plan, and those with extreme TDS. Most of the major US media haven’t figured out a way to approve of the plan while still hating on Trump, Netanyahu, Israel, and Jews

Netanyahu agrees to Trump plan for Gaza deal, but Hamas still a question

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed Monday to a deal to end the war in Gaza that was proposed by President Donald Trump, amid a fresh push by the White House to halt two years of bitter war. The step toward peace still requires agreement by Hamas.

Trump called it “a beautiful day, potentially one of the great days ever in civilization,” speaking alongside Netanyahu following hours of meetings at the White House. The deal, which the White House published Monday, foresees hostilities ceasing immediately and hostages being released within 72 hours of both sides agreeing to the deal.

“Today is a historic day for peace,” the president said, even as he acknowledged that Hamas had not yet agreed to the deal.

“I’m hearing that Hamas wants to get this done, too, and that’s a good thing,” Trump said, adding that if Hamas doesn’t agree, the White House would give Israel a green light to keep fighting.

A they say, the devil is in the details. Peace doesn’t always happen overnight (unless it is enforced by the conflict winner), they have to work on the details. Hopefully it can be closed. Everyone should want that. Unless they are rooting for Hamas and against Israel and Jews.

The Jerusalem Post dives deep into the details as they are right now. Worth reading it.

Trump’s plan — which was crafted with heavy input from former British Prime Minister Tony Blair — would hold the door open to an eventual Palestinian state. It would begin with the immediate cessation of military operations, would freeze “battle lines” in place and would require Hamas to release all 20 living hostages — and the remains of more than two dozen believed dead — within 72 hours.

All of Hamas’s offensive weaponry would be destroyed, according to a 20-point version of the plan released by the White House on Monday. Those militants who “commit to peaceful coexistence” would be offered amnesty. Hamas members who choose to leave would be granted safe passage to other countries.

Can it happen? Time will tell. One thing about Trump, love him or hate him, he sees a problem and he looks to actually solve it, rather than yammer on.

Update To Comments Plus Rush – A Passage To Bangkok

One of my favorite Rush songs all time, plus, the version of Exit…Stage Left is dynamite

I’ve deactivated the plugin that allowed things like making text bold, adding links, etc, in the comments to see if it speeds up comments. The plugin was last updated 2 years ago. If deactivating makes a difference I may look for a much newer one, since I cannot use the Jetpack one as I do not use the block editor. Not sure how anyone uses those, so annoying.

I may end up just deleting all comments and starting fresh. There are a lot in the server, having had this blog for a long time. Notice that many blogs just stopped allowing comments. I may try using Disqus.

I may also try switching to a built in WordPress theme. This theme is very, very, very old, and, I’ve had WP kill themes in the past.

Let me know if comments are processing quicker over the next 24 hours. Things are running quick now, but, can get those slowdowns. Thank you.

Warmists Big Mad That Energy Department Has “Banned” The Phrase ‘Climate Change’

I like how Politico has spelled it the way I do: ‘climate change’, as in, “anthropogenic climate change”, as in, scam

Energy Dept. adds ‘climate change’ and ‘emissions’ to banned words list

The Energy Department has added “climate change,” “green” and “decarbonization” to its growing “list of words to avoid” at its Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, according to an email issued Friday and obtained by POLITICO.

The words on the DOE list are at the heart of EERE’s mission: It is the government’s largest investor in technologies that help reduce heat-trapping emissions that cause climate change as well as the hazardous pollution from fossil fuels. It is the latest in a series of Trump administration efforts to dispute, silence or downplay the realities of climate change.

“Please ensure that every member of your team is aware that this is the latest list of words to avoid — and continue to be conscientious about avoiding any terminology that you know to be misaligned with the Administration’s perspectives and priorities,” the directive from acting director of external affairs Rachel Overbey said.

Those instructions apply to both public-facing and internal communications and cover documents such as requests for information for federal funding opportunities, reports and briefings.

So, not really banned, just, try and avoid them, since they are backstops of a doomsday cult.

In addition to “climate change” and “green,” EERE forbid officials from using “emissions” to avoid the implication that they are a negative. Climate change is caused by rising greenhouse gas emissions, which is driven primarily by burning oil, coal and natural gas for energy.

And that’s why it needs to be avoided, because it’s an unscientific cult. Democrats are caterwauling, but,

From the link

The Senate Democrats’ campaign arm is planning a two-day getaway at a five-star resort in the heart of California’s wine country in early October — at the same time the country may be in the midst of a government shutdown — according to an invitation obtained by Politico’s “Playbook.”

So, a whole bunch of elected Dems, Senate, House, maybe state, along with donors will be taking fossil fueled travel, mostly on private jets? Huh.

Bummer: ICE Is Arresting Illegals New York Spent Millions To Resettle

Would these be the illegals Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent to NYC and then the sanctuary city sent off to small Republican towns?

The State Spent Millions to Resettle Asylum Seekers. ICE Is Arresting Them.

K and her husband were eager to settle down after a harrowing migration. They left Colombia for the United States last year with their infant son, reaching the southern border in May 2024. From Texas, they traveled to New York City by bus, ending up in a hotel shelter for newly arrived immigrant families.

That’s when New York state stepped in. The Migrant Relocation Assistance Program, a $32 million initiative launched in 2023, helped the family relocate to Rochester in May. Program funds paid for their move and first year of rent. K was relieved to escape the hotel, where she wasn’t allowed to cook, and the family settled into a routine: Her husband delivered food for DoorDash and Uber Eats, while she took care of their son at home.

Then, one morning in July, federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested her husband outside their apartment. The couple, who met as children, were separated for the first time in 14 years.

“I don’t know what to do,” K, who requested anonymity because she fears being targeted by immigration authorities, said in Spanish. Instead of planning her family’s future, she feels frozen as she waits to find out what will happen to her husband. She hasn’t been able to work to make up for the loss of his income, she said: “I don’t know anyone here and I have no one to take care of the baby.”

I do not have a lot of compassion when these illegals make no attempt to learn English. These people are here to take advantage of America, not be a part of America.

The state has spent tens of millions to resettle families like K’s through MRAP. Most participants have work permits and a path to permanent legal status through pending asylum cases. They’ve finally found some stability after getting shuffled from city to city, but it has begun to unravel as President Donald Trump’s administration moves to dismantle the asylum system and expel applicants.

Only about 10% qualify for asylum, historically. Considering the Biden admin didn’t really bother vetting any of them during his time of mass immigration you have to wonder if that percent will drop due to all the criminals let in, all those who are not qualified for asylum.

ICE has detained or deported members of at least 19 current or former MRAP families around Rochester, Buffalo, and Albany since Trump took office, program administrators told New York Focus. That number may be even higher in those cities and around the state, the administrators said.

Some of those arrested have signed voluntary departure paperwork to return to their home countries rather than face additional months or years in detention. Others are still locked up. Two former MRAP families — five children among them — were deported to Colombia from Buffalo, according to administrators and a local immigrant rights advocate.

Which usually means an immigration judge has signed off on deportation, as those involved have been denied asylum.

The arrests highlight the vulnerability of many people who arrived during a wave of immigration under the Biden administration. Blue states like New York launched programs that aimed — however imperfectly — to help new arrivals find housing and jobs. Now, they appear powerless to protect the beneficiaries of those programs.

Is the state also protecting Americans who committed low level, and possibly high level, crimes, or, do they prosecute them and send them to jail?

ICE arrests have left affected MRAP families in limbo, and stoked dread among others, making it harder for them to build stable lives, said Deisi Sandoval, a case manager for 20 MRAP families in Rochester and herself a former beneficiary of the program.

Maybe they shouldn’t have come, eh? 90% won’t be accepted for asylum, so, they shouldn’t get comfortable. It’s fun how Democrats are more concerned with illegals than Americans. Imagine if we booted the at least 21 million illegals – I do not believe the 11 million number. It’s been 11 million since the Bush43 days, even after the millions Biden let in -: how would that affect housing prices? All those domiciles, be it homes or apartments, with them available? How about the almost 1 million on TPS? The 800K refugees? The almost 4 million on work visas?
