It’s not like 241 of the 261 DACA kids detained last year had criminal histories or something
Justice Department makes it easier to deport those with DACA status
The Trump administration is making it easier to deport immigrants protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.
A new precedent decision published Friday by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) says being a DACA recipient is not enough reason to provide relief from deportation.
A three-judge panel of appellate immigration judges sided with Department of Homeland Security lawyers who appealed a decision from immigration judge Michael Pleters terminating removal proceedings for Catalina “Xóchitl” Santiago, citing Santiago’s active DACA status. They sent the case back to a different immigration judge for review.
Although the decision does not mean Santiago will be immediately deported, it potentially weakens DACA protections for hundreds of thousands of others.
Well, they are in the U.S. illegally, DACA was never authorized by Congress, there’s no statute that allowed relief for illegal alien kids, and even Obama said it was un-Constitutional before he went and did it anyway
Santiago’s case gained national attention after she was detained by Customs and Border Protection officers while boarding a domestic flight at the El Paso airport in August. She was placed in immigration detention until a federal judge granted her release last October. She has been fighting the threat of deportation in the immigration court system since.
You know what NPR forgets to mention?
(PBS) We did ask DHS about her case. They gave us a statement in which they called her a criminal illegal alien and they also said this in part — quote — “Her criminal history includes charges for trespassing, possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. She will remain in ICE custody pending her removal proceedings.”
Those charges invalidate DACA status. All they were asked was to not be criminals.
They’re already batguano insane doomsday cultists: can they get worse?
UK crackdown on climate protests may fuel radical action, study finds
A new study suggests that the United Kingdom’s increasingly punitive approach to direct-action climate protests may be producing the opposite outcome, with some activists becoming more determined and, in certain cases, more radical in response to arrests and legal penalties.
Research based on a survey of around 1,300 climate campaigners indicates that measures such as arrests, fines, and prison sentences are not consistently deterring participation.
Instead, they appear to reinforce the willingness of some activists to take part in disruptive demonstrations, including actions like blocking roads or damaging property.
The study, cited by The Guardian, found that punitive responses to nonviolent activism can push individuals further toward radicalization.
So, wait, am I reading that they surveyed the nutters and the nutters said they are going to continue to be nuts?
Rather than focusing solely on legal consequences, the research highlights the importance of how activists emotionally respond to repression. Those who had already faced measures such as arrest, fines, or surveillance reported feeling less fear about engaging in future disruptive actions.
Among activists without direct experience of repression, reactions varied. Individuals who responded with anger or contempt were more likely to continue participating in protests, while those who felt fear tended to step back from further involvement.
Well, looks like the slightly less nuts are going to maybe refrain from being nutbar.
Crazy people.

Happy Sunday! Another fantastic day in Returned America. Getting some needed rain, the Dodgers are still kicking butt, and the Hurricanes (my 2nd favorite team, since I live here) swept the Senators. This pinup is by Lorenza Sperlonga, with a wee bit of help.
What is happening in Ye Olde Blogosphere? The Fine 15
As always, the full set of pinups can be seen in the Patriotic Pinup category, or over at my Gallery page (nope, that’s gone, the newest Apache killed access, and the program hasn’t been upgraded since 2014, so, most are hosted internally). While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your Pinups for Vets calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts and things that interest me. I’ve also mostly alphabetized them, makes it easier scrolling the feedreader
Don’t forget to check out all the other great material all the linked blogs have!
Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. And do you have a favorite blog you can recommend be added to the feedreader?
Two great sites for getting news links are Liberty Daily and Whatafinger.

This is the same guy who sold his TV station to petro-state backed Al Jazeera for tens of millions, right?
Former Vice President Al Gore is still making climate doom predictions, 20 years after his warnings from An Inconvenient Truth proved false — this time invoking the science fiction film The Day After Tomorrow for a rapt Hollywood audience.
Gore joined the first-ever Sustainability in Entertainment Honors event Thursday, organized by The Hollywood Reporter and the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, for a keynote conversation with The West Wing star Bradley Whitford. The pair reminisced about the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, conspicuously omitting its failed prophecy that Earth’s ecosystems would reach a “tipping point” of no return, thanks to human industrial activity, in only ten years. That deadline that came and went a full decade ago.
In the course of the conversation, Gore mentioned that the idea for An Inconvenient Truth came out of his promotion for the 2004 science fiction movie The Day After Tomorrow (throughout the keynote, Gore mixed its title up with the 1983 nuclear war thriller The Day After). The mansion-dwelling, private–jetting climate crusader later invoked the disaster film, saying that the calamity it depicts is “a very real threat within the next 25 years.” (snip)
GORE: That movie that I mentioned, The Day After about the Gulf Stream shutting down, well, this morning in one of the English newspapers is a whole big article summarizing the recent dire warnings of the scientists who found yet more confirmatory information that this is a very real threat within the next 25 years.
They never, ever give up trying to spread their doomsday propaganda.

Anyone surprised? How about all the Jews in NYC who voted for this radical Islamist?
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is sparking backlash after using his first veto to derail a bipartisan bill aimed at combating antisemitism by expanding protest security safeguards for places of education.
“This could impact workers protesting ICE or college students demanding their school divest from fossil fuels or demonstrating in support of Palestinian rights,” Mamdani said in a statement Friday.
“It is a piece of legislation that has alarmed much of the labor movement, reproductive rights groups and immigration advocates, among others, across this city.”
New York’s former Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent against Mamdani in the mayoral race last year, slammed Mamdani’s decision on X, saying he “chose the whims of his radical, extreme-left DSA base over the safety of students and Jewish New Yorkers at a time of rising antisemitism.”
“Instead of governing for all NYers, Mamdani has repealed the very definition of antisemitism from the city’s books, changed how antisemitic crimes are counted and now vetoed these commonsense security measures when they are needed most,” Cuomo continued.
You voted for this, New Yorkers. Are you happy? How about the Jews? It’s not like you weren’t warned about him being a Jew hater.
The bill, Int. 175-B, requires New York law enforcement to develop a plan to contain the risk of physical obstruction, physical injury, intimidation and interference at educational facilities while still allowing for freedom of assembly and First-Amendment events. The plan would then apply to “any building, structure, or place where educational programming takes place.” (snip)
“According to the NYPD, antisemitic incidents accounted for 57% of reported hate crimes in 2025, although only approximately 10% of New York City residents are Jewish. Jewish New Yorkers were the targets of hate crimes more than all other groups combined.”
Common sense legislation, but, of course, NYC has been taken over by the unhinged wackos who take the side of radical Islamic terrorist groups to the point of wanting Jews gone. These are your people, Democrats: do you support this? They aren’t far far fringe, they are the voting base. Do you support them?
