Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is warning agents to be on the lookout for members of a notorious Venezuelan prison gang coming across the southern border — just as the socialist country is refusing to take its citizens back.
A CBP source provided Fox News with an internal CBP intelligence bulletin revealing tattoos and identifiers for Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan prison gang. Members of that
Fox News reported this week that the brother of the suspect in the killing of Georgia student Laken Riley has ties to the gang. Both the suspect and his brother are Venezuelans who entered the U.S. illegally.
Federal authorities have been warning that the gang, also known as TdA and known for its violent turf wars as it expanded into other countries in South and Central America, is trying to establish itself in the U.S., where police are already linking it to organized crime. The FBI has also warned that the gang could team up with the bloodthirsty MS-13.
Last month two suspects in the assault of two NYPD officers were revealed to be members of TdA.
There are so many people crossing into the U.S. that it’s damned impossible for the border officials to do their job. How many are crossing and declaring asylum? And then never have a background check done, a check for tattoos?
But CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sources have expressed frustration to Fox News that Venezuelan gang members are extremely difficult to deport because Venezuela is currently not taking them back.
Only 834 Venezuelans were deported in FY 2023, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data, despite there being over 335,000 encounters at the border. The administration had started returning illegal immigrants from Venezuela directly to the socialist dictatorship in October as part of a way to discourage the flow to the border.
Venezuela is mostly sending their worst. The best thing to do is to lock the border down as much as possible and stop inviting people to just show up. You know, doing the exact opposite of what Democrats and Biden are doing. I suggest shipping to sanctuary cities and capitols of sanctuary states till they can be booted. How many of the 7.2 million illegals Biden has let in are not looking to be a part of the greatest nation on Earth, but, commit crime and harm Americans?

PPresident Donald Trump on Tuesday announced he will offer Venezuelan exiles protection from deportation, a move he has considered for years but refused to do until his last full day in office.
Trump is using the little-known Deferred Enforced Departure program, or DED, to offer temporary legal status to Venezuelans fleeing the humanitarian crisis brought on by Nicolás Maduro’s regime. DED, similar to Temporary Protected Status or TPS, protects recipients from deportation and allows them to get work permits. However, it is granted directly by the president instead of the Department of Homeland Security.
“The deteriorative condition within Venezuela, which presents an ongoing national security threat to the safety and well-being of the American people, warrants the deferral of the removal of Venezuelan nationals who are present in the United States,” Trump said in a memorandum released Tuesday.
Based on Trump’s memo, the U.S. will defer for 18 months the removal of certain Venezuelan nationals present in the U.S. on Jan. 20. It also allows those Venezuelans to work during that period of time.</strong>

Thanks. What is the evidence that Venezuelan “prisons are empty”? Congressman Nehls (R-TX) described a Breitbart Texas “DHS Report” alleging that Venezuela was emptying its prisoners. Unfortunately, the “DHS Report” appears to be unavailable.
The World Prison Brief noted that that the Venezuelan prison population decreased from 54,738 in 2016 to 37,543 in 2020. On his last day in office then-president Trump granted temporary legal status to some 145,000 Venezuelan migrants.
As of Nov 2023, it was reported that the Venezuelan military had entered seven Venezuelan prisons controlled by violent gangs and took control transferring those prisoners to other “overcrowded prisons”.
There are officially about 54,000 inmates in Venezuela’s 80 prisons, including the 9,000 from the now-shuttered facilities. 70% of prisoners have not been charged with a crime.
