Biden’s Agencies Want To Redesign Communities To Get Everyone To Walk And Bike

Yes, they do want to force the peasants to give up their fossil fueled travel and keep them from traveling

Biden wants you to walk, bike more to eliminate transportation emissions by 2050

If the Biden administration gets its way, carbon emissions emanating from transportation sources will be near zero by 2050 in part because people will be doing a lot less driving and a lot more walking and biking.

The Departments of Energy, Transportation and Housing and Urban Development, along with the Environmental Protection Agency, released a “blueprint to decarbonize America’s transportation sector.” While that blueprint said most environmental benefits will come from spending billions of dollars on electric vehicles that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it also called for a sweeping effort to redesign communities all around the country so that walking and biking become more viable options.

The plan called for more “investments” in walking and biking infrastructure and said land-use planning will “tackle the problem at the root and make it appealing and practical for people to take fewer or shorter trips, or to walk or bike on those trips where that is feasible.”

It anticipated more spending on “green infrastructure – trees and planted areas along streets, parking lots, and other paved areas,” which it said “makes walking and biking more appealing.” It also called for re-imagining the way cities and towns are laid out in order to make walking a more popular option.

It’s a lot easier for government to control people when they can’t really go far, eh? But, remember, this is all about “science”, not politics and authoritarianism, right?

BTW, when is Biden going to start traveling in EVs instead of fossil fueled limos?

You will walk, and BE HAPPY!

Walk or ride a bike. Hmph. That might work in tiny countries like Monaco or even places like Switzerland, but in a country that stretches several thousand miles it won’t work.
I am so tired of that puppet and the neocons that control him. And since the last election (ha) I now believe that voting will not get us out of this mess. When the SHTF, many people are going to be very sorry they stirred the American pot.

  3. I s’pose I’ll have to give up our farm and move to town, displacing our renter in the house we own there, so I can walk to the nearby tiny food mart. Of course, that’ll only have the typical junk food those kinds of places carry.

So perhaps it’s best to stay on the farm. Perhaps I can buy or build a buckboard or Amish-style carriage; I do have enough land on which to graze and support a horse. The nearest (sort of) real grocery store is only about six miles away, and, if the left don’t ban horses, we can get to the grocery store that way.

Maybe I should look to building a greenhouse, to grow garden vegetables longer during the year. I could expand the chicken coop and get more birds. I hadn’t planned on becoming a full-time farmer as I enter my seventies in a few months, but if that’s what Our Betters require . . . .

Don’t worry. I am sure they will assign people to work and live at your farm. And they will confiscate all the production so you don’t need to worry about that either. It’s what communists do. All those great ideas to run the world can’t just stay in the bottle at some university.

      • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Hell, they’ll confiscate whole damn farm in case we haven’t noticed the usual SOP. They kill Kulaks. Don’t be a Kulak.

And they desire to rid of us of natural gas. One of the cheapest, most efficient and least polluting of all energy sources. We need two countries, one for people that think and desire to improve their lives and the other for the Dems.

    • Professor Hale says:

The problem with that mentality is that the communists will always resent anyone doing better than they are. They will either want to burn your side to the ground, or immigrate to it and expect you to accept their communist tendencies.

Isn’t this ableist? And also, since People of Color are more likely to suffer from disabilities (ok, I just made that up) then isn’t this also racist?
