Economic issues top the public’s agenda: POLL
As the midterm election approaches, most Americans say that the economy, inflation and rising gas prices are the most important issues in determining how they will vote for Congress this November, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll.
With inflation on the rise since last fall, Americans have been significantly affected by the rising cost of goods and services. And, more than eight in 10 Americans (83%) now say that the economy is either an extremely or very important issue in determining how they will vote, in the latest ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted using Ipsos’ KnowledgePanel.
In the poll, 80% of Americans say that inflation is also an extremely or very important factor in how they will vote and for gas prices, it is 74%.
Joe Biden’s approval ratings for his handling of these key issues are all well underwater, suggesting trouble for the president and Democratic candidates ahead of the midterm. Only 37% approve of Biden’s handling of the economic recovery, and even fewer approve of his handling of inflation (28%) and gas prices (27%).
Who would have thought it? And, crime is pretty darned important, with 71% thinking extremely or very important. It’s not all bad news for Dems
Abortion and gun violence are high, and, hey, ‘climate change’ isn’t last next to last. At the end of the day, though, inflation, gas prices, paying so much more for product, waiting a long time for many goods and services (I bought a 4 car door speakers today, but, cannot get them put in for almost 3 weeks. I could do it myself, do not want to), be they cars, furniture, etc, and just a general seeing that the economy is not getting better, but, worse, straight up pocketbook issues, will reign in this election.
2024 GOP presidential candidate, FL governor Ron duhSantis (tRump 2.0), threatened US Special Olympics Committee with a $27.5 million fine if they didn’t drop their vaccine requirements for the US Games. They gave in.
duhSantis also was behind the policy that FL public universities must survey their professors and students regarding their political leanings to continue to receive state funding!

The Tampa Bay Rays baseball team announced a $50,000 donation to Everytown for Gun Safety. duhSantis then vetoed a bill for $35 million for a sports training and youth tournament complex in Pasco County described as a “community facilities serving general recreation, youth/amateur/professional baseball and softball participation, sports tourism, and other programming and events” but with the hope the Rays would make it their training site.
duhSAntis said it was “inappropriate to subsidize political activism of a private corporation.”
duhSantis has shown a decided bias against businesses and organizations that have political positions that differ from his!

I agree with cutting government subsidies to private businesses! Every law and policy we pass supports the wealthy at the expense of the taxpaying working class. The wealthy and corporations need to pay their fair share!

With the Brandon administration unable or unwilling to deal with items 1 & 2, watch the propaganda arm of the DNC (the Media) to adjust their style manuals to make Brandon look positive to the ‘Great Unwashed’ (“”undecided voters””) on ‘Guns’, ‘Abortion’, and possibly ‘Immigration’. We’ve already seen some, but expect to see a lot more by the fall. They simply can’t chance that their cheating plans will be effective enough and that the opposition shows up in droves.
