Our good friend Elwood P Dowd has chortled that Mark and Patricia McCloskey, 64 and 62, respectively, pleaded guilty to misdemeanors.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Mark McCloskey pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault, a Class C misdemeanor, and agreed to pay a $750 fine. His wife, Patricia, pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment, a Class A misdemeanor, and paid a $2,000 fine. They were also required to surrender their firearms.

$2,750 in fines, and no jail time, for protecting their home from the hooligans. But, though they were required to surrender their firearms, they’ve got money, and they were not banned from buying new weapons, which they did!

Supposedly, the Governor of Mr Dowd’s home state, Mike Parson, a Republican, said that he would pardon the McCloskeys if they were convicted. That’s a good thing.

Mr Dowd doesn’t like it when the savages are prevented from burning and looting, and thus he didn’t like it when the McCloskeys exercised their Second Amendment rights to keep the Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters away from their home. But, in the end, the good guys have won.

Jeff also has difficulty understanding our judicial system. Just because you plead does not mean you are guilty.

      • Dana says:

You can take an Alford plea or a no contest plea, and not admit guilt, but still accept the guilty verdict. A lot of people do this when they don’t have the money to fight the charges.

The McCloskeys had the money, but once the Governor said that they’d be pardoned, it made perfect sense to take a guilty plea for a misdemeanor which resulted in no jail time, and small fines for them.

White supremacists are the greatest threat to our nation’s security.

Surveillance video of the incident showed a group of (black) men dragging the couple – later identified as 24-year-old Gyovanny Arzuaga and 25-year-old Yasmin Perez – out of their vehicle and shooting them multiple times.
