Republicans Are Terrified Of New York Socialist Or Something

GQ writer Jay Willis (yes, discussing this in GQ, a mag about men’s fashion, totally makes sense, you know) thinks he totally has it figured out

Uh huh. It starts with this cute tag line

Why are conservative media pundits taking shots at her upbringing? Because they fear that they won’t win a substantive debate.

Or, it could be due to her being a fraud. But, you do you

It took the right-wing pundit class all of four days to decide how it planned to attack Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the 28-year-old Bronx native who won her New York City congressional district’s Democratic primary on the strength of some really, really good policy ideas. Their chosen approach, however, might be characterized as a novel one. You should know, says this basic-cable talking head, that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—and this is a Certified Politics Bombshell, so please make sure you’re in a place where you can audibly gasp—grew up in a house.

Willis attempts to defend that she did not grow up privileged (she did), but, are we really terrified?

Tell you what: when she tries running in a congressional district that’s actually competitive, unlike the one she’s in that has not been competitive for decades, and does well or even wins, then we’ll be concerned. Right now? Not so much. Will there even be a Republican who bothers in that district, one whom she’ll debate? Refer back to the tag line of the pro-socialist article. It’s not hard to win a debate about all the stuff she wants, all given by Government.

But, hey, you go and try to mainstream the lunatic Socialists, Willis.

That guy is delusional… like most democrats.

Republicans couldn’t care less who represents NYC. We don’t have a dog in that fight. It is the democrats who are passing brick-shaped fecal matter. This race saw an old white guy, establishment party guy tossed out on his ear by a rookie. I’m sure the Dems are fine with being forced to shift further left, but they hate and fear outsiders taking over the party they have been in control of for so long. It’s the whole reason they created the super-delegate system. Look for it to be applied to local races now to keep this from happening again. The only thing the democratic party hates more than ideological shift, is losing their jobs, no matter who wins it.

Terrified of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Hardly! We love her, and want to make her the face of the Democratic Party!

  3. alanstorm says:

Where are the really, really good policy ideas mentioned?

All I see are the usual idiotic socialist failures. Don’t remember seeing ALL of them in one place before. Maybe that’s what the writer was getting at – she has a COMPREHENSIVE catalog of fail.

  4. Jeffery says:

Abolishing ICE is a dumb idea and a federal jobs guarantee is too far out there, but the rest are Bernie Sanders’ platform level ideas and would help the working classes.

This is in contrast to the GOP who favor the wealthy at the expense of the working classes, with plans to slash Medicare and Social Security to pay for tax cuts. Once the trump tariffs start hurting the wealthy (e.g., see DJIA) you’ll see a revolt.

Ask soybean farmers (mostly trump voters) how they feel about trump’s plan. Ask the laid off workers (more trump voters) at the nail manufacturer in Butler County MO. Ask trump voters this fall when their health care premiums skyrocket.

The coming trump recession will hurt trump voters.

  5. Jeffery says:

trump: “Do exactly as I say or I’ll have you destroyed!!”

He’s just like a vengeful god! No wonder the far, far right worships him.

Now that Harley-Davidson is moving part of its operation out of the U.S., my Administration is working with other Motor Cycle companies who want to move into the U.S. Harley customers are not happy with their move – sales are down 7% in 2017. The U.S. is where the Action is!

  6. Jeffery says:

The NRA is going to goosestep march in the local Independence Day parade:

“The National Rifle Association is being represented by a float in this year’s Community Days Parade. The Police Department received several inquiries concerning the potential of members associated with the group carrying weapons in the parade.

Although constitutional law would permit those actions, the group has assured us they recognize the family nature of this event and have no intention of openly carrying weapons.”

I bet covians would defy community norms and carry AR-15s! It’s what The Don would want.

I see that that science isn’t Jeffty’s only weak point.

  8. Jeffery says:

trump threatens his “base” will protect him from criticism… The left better take it easy ’cause trump’s “base” is like no other base in the history of politics. At least not since George Wallace.

And that his “base” may give Rep Waters more than she bargained for.

I guess the free press got a demonstration last week…

Little maxine back to aping the field negro, yo.
      Again, nothing original here.
