Apparently, a talking point bulletin went out on recently to compare Russia placing a few ads and having some Twitter trolls as the worst ever. I caught this idiotic opinion piece by the Washington Post’s Max Boot late in the afternoon
Trump is ignoring the worst attack on America since 9/11
Imagine if, after 9/11, the president had said that the World Trade Center and Pentagon could have been attacked by “China†or “lots of other people.†Imagine if he had dismissed claims of al-Qaeda’s responsibility as a “hoax†and said that he “really†believed Osama bin Laden’s denials. Imagine if he saw the attack primarily as a political embarrassment to be minimized rather than as a national security threat to be combated. Imagine if he threatened to fire the investigators trying to find out what happened.
That schtick goes on and on and on, because, apparently, Russia made Hillary not campaign in Wisconsin. And faint on 9/11. Which is all an interesting take, since half of Democrats think that President Bush was behind 9/11. Are 9/11 Truthers. And, remember how many Democrats wanted to sit back and think about what we the USA did to precipitate the attack (which, in the Bush Derangement Syndrome, forgot they would have put the crosshairs on Bill Clinton) rather than attack Afghanistan, the Taliban, and al Qaeda?
Anyhow, I thought this was just typical, unhinged Democratic talking points, till we find this via Twitchy

As they note, “Facebook ads and memes = attack on our country that launched the U.S. into WWII. Got it!” Then we have Jonathan Alter, a Daily Beast columnist and constant MSNBC personality making the same comparison. And Rep Jerry Nadler (D-NY). And ABC News’ Matthew Dodd. And Paul Begala. And the Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty. And, of course, all the retweets and comments by Liberals saying “yeah, you’re right!”
Then there’s this

Why would it be that Democrats do not want any report on Russia Russia Russia released prior to the mid-terms? Hmmmm.

Imagine if, after 9/11, the president had said that the World Trade Center and Pentagon
