Did you catch (NMP) Obama’s finger wagging speech yesterday? Here’s Allahpundit
Textbook O. First, almost obligatorily, the speech is built on the assumption that his opponents are callous to the point of malignancy. Read the transcript and you’ll see that he’s all but given up arguing policy on this; it’s a straight-up, 13-minute-long guilt trip, essentially the same point Jim Carrey made the other day but with less colorful language. If you disagree with him, it’s because you’ve “forgotten those kids.†Second, leave it to O to try to revive momentum for gun control with yet another speech after he spent weeks trying and failing to build durable momentum for it by, er, making speeches. All I could think of while watching was “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan,†which he repeated several thousand times during 2009 and which, as you know, helped make ObamaCare the fantastically popular program it is today.
I had actually picked up the remote to change the channel after a few minutes of the same old same old when Fox switched away. Interestingly, O is still surrounded by people tasked with protecting him who carry scary looking guns with big magazines, something he would prefer that the citizens not have. Anyhow
President Obama will continue his push for gun-control measures during a visit next Wednesday to Denver, where the White House hopes to spotlight new state gun laws.
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper signed legislation last week banning high-capacity magazines and requiring background checks for all gun purchases, effectively closing the so-called gun-show loophole.
During the visit, Obama will “continue to ask the American people to join him in calling on Congress to pass common-sense measures to reduce gun violence,” deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said.
(PINO) Obama mentioned the discredited and false 40% have no background checks meme. I’m sure he’ll try it again as he wags his finger and says “do it for the children”, yet, nothing that he proposes or was passed in Colorado will actually deter criminals. One of his big points in between the guilt trip (surrounded by human shields) is to push legislation that makes it more difficult for people with mental issues to be denied a gun permit. Yet, these people have violated no law. Obama would deny them a handgun permit (which is what is being discussed, unless O and company want to push for background checks on all gun purchases) without due process, as well as violate their privacy.
Perhaps O should task his own employees to enforce existing law, and ask people like mayors involved in Mayors Against Gun Violence to prosecute the law.
BTW, for the people of Denver who think O really cares about them? Yeah, not so much, he surely picked Denver as a way to get the taxpayer to pick up most of the tab for his fundraising trip to California.
Lanza fired over 150 shots at Newtown in less than 5 minutes.
of course the 2nd Amendment gives full rights to the insane, thinking anything other than that is just plain crazy talk.
And of course laws don’t stop criminals, that’s why we have them ??????
Another distraction from john.
The insane already are prohibited frpm owning a weapon, john, so your point is moot.
The fact of the mater is that Lanza wss a criminal and people like you had made it so there was no one in the school able to defend themselves.
The blood from Newtown is on people like you who made it so law abiding citizens were left defenseless.
And Teach’s point is solid. It doesn’t matter what laws you pass until you enforce them. Right now people like you are only interested in appearing to do something positive when all you are doing is creating more victims.

I can fire that much in 5 minutes with two 11 round magazines, John. Not that hard. Interestingly, despite the draconian gun laws in Ct, Lanza was able to still do what he did.
If you want to propose laws that are tough on criminals, I’m with you. I suggest corporal punishment and hard labor for criminals. Make crime literally painful for those who get caught. What do you say, John?
And again, john offer up proof of his stupidity when silence would have left him a fig leaf to hide behind.

There’s an old saying, it’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools. Blame the MAN, not the tool he used.
Would we be calling to ban sledgehammers, or knifes, or bows and arrows, had those been the instruments of murder?
Well, with Barack Obama and his “above my paygrade” mentality, maybe we would, but it would be WRONG.
See, once the goverment disarms everyone, how will you defend your First or Fourth Amendment rights, john? That’s the endgame the corrupt, lying President is planning for, all while waving that bloody shirt.
You know what? Let me dumb it down EVEN MORE for you. Where was this concern from the Chicago Messiah over the gun deaths of black youths IN Chicago last year? A lot more of them died than were killed in Sandy Hook — so why doesn’t Obama care about black children? Why don’t you?
Oh, right, Sandy Hook was the event Dems have been figuratively salivating over to push Gun Control, just like they tried using Benghazi to cripple the First Amendment.
And mouth-breathing tools like you just support them, never demonstrating the ability to actually look at the situation.
Maybe if the Dems hadn’t destroyed the mental health facilities and care, this might not have happened. But far easier to blame guns, and only guns for civilians …

Prove that he fired over 150 rounds, John. Prove that had he fired only 25, those same people he killed would not be dead today, john.
But yet, john does prove a point that more laws wont stop the crimes that the previous laws didn’t stop. Thanks for pointing that out to us john. It is amazing that criminals won’t even follow these new laws, isn’t it john?
So, one might ask, why do we bother then to push ever more restrictions when the current crimes ignored the current laws. Huh john?
