Sorta Blogless Sunday Pinup

Happy Sunday! Yet another fantastic day in America! No matter how they try, they can never truly change us. This pinup is by Jay Scott Pike, with a wee bit of help.

Sorry this was so late, DreamHost decided to join the Obama economy and melt down on everyone today. Literally just came back up right before 11pm. Crashed about 7am EST.

What is happening in Ye Olde Blogosphere? The Fine 15

  1. The Other McCain discusses VP Sissy Biden not wanting to launch the raid against Osama
  2. Jihad Watch points out that the Dutch plan on banning Muslim veils.
  3. Proof Positive discusses Obama’s state of delusion
  4. Raised on Hoecakes discusses Newt’s super secret decoder ring
  5. Wild Thing has a devastating Gingrich video
  6. Verum Serum notices that the NY Times forgot to mention something vis a vis Gingrich’s ethics charges
  7. The Sundries Shack tells us what the 2012 SOTU really meant
  8. Doug Powers finds yet another crazed TEA Party member making death threats
  9. Bob Owens is bummed that Obama doesn’t love him anymore
  10. Gateway Pundit has excellent photos from the Welcome Back Hero’s parade
  11. Jammie Wearing Fool highlights some more of those mostly peaceful Occupiers
  12. Legal Insurrection says Romney is winning the battles but losing our war
  13. Maggie’s Notebook discusses the return of one of the most vile Democrats of the century
  14. neo-neocon has someone different in mind for 2012- Cthulhu! Though, I think Dagon might suffice (lots of references in Simon Green’s Nightside books)
  15. And last, but not least, Patterico finds yet another idiot notion on illegal immigration coming from San Fran
  16. And one to grow on: Nice Deb has the Race Card offenders for the past week

As always, the full set of pinups can be seen in the Patriotic Pinup category, or over at my Gallery page. While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets” calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out

Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

The posts do take a long time, so, if you want to send me your links for Rule 5 babeage or links, use ye olde email in the header bar (remove the NOSPAM part). Preferably, create the html link so I can copy and paste how you want it to read.

While I appreciate the link, seeing you back up and running is even better.

    Welcome back, my friend.

Indeed and welcome back. I agree with gitacarver 100%.

Here is some eye candy for you from a blog I stumbled across from England. ENJOY!

  5. Thanks Teach. I know this takes a lot of your time, and when your host isn’t cooperating, it’s maddening. I really appreciate the links.

  6. Preciate, folks. Fortunately, I did the majority of the post Saturday evening.

I was reading your tweets on the responsiveness of your host. I admire your restraint in keeping the comments PG-13! Thanks for the pin up and the links! We both stand up and salute!

  8. It was difficult not going to XXX for those Tweets. It was getting pretty nasty at the DreamHost status page post on it. Some were pretty outraged that the shared servers were brought up before the VPS. I pay like $23 a month (after a nice discount from DH after I pitched a fit over being forcibly moved without even being notified).

People were also mentioning the problems with overloads on teh VPS’. You’ve probably seen that here. I mean, I average 1100 hits a day per Sitemeter, yet, that can cause issues? Crazy.

Moving would be fun. Have to copy the theme, all the scripts in the Widgets (plus, I’d copy them to my test site on a different domain for easy copy and paste back), and all many of the plugins (because some are slightly outdated, because newer versions can cause issues with the HTML in the theme). Then turn of the DNS forwarding, enable DNS at new host, get Wordspress installed, upload the theme, import the WordPress file with all the posts and comments, C&P the Widgets scripts, and make sure it all works. All in all, probably a few hours of time, though, could be down for 24-48 with the DNS stuff.

And then even more fun, uploading all the Pinup pictures and reassociating them with the proper posts. I spent about 15 hours at least doing that when I moved from Six Apart to WordPress, and I didn’t have 373 Pinup posts. Plus, lots of photos I host in a Gallery site that kept getting wacked at Photobucket (which I wouldn’t bother with.) That’s what has kept me from moving.

Just gave myself a headache writing that and thinking about it.

Moving a site is a major heart attack waiting in the wings ,Teach. My site is much simpler than the Cove here and I have not moved from blogger yet, but at some point I will.

What saves my ass is I have a star administrator, Ozark Guru who keeps an eye on my site and about 40 others. If I did not have someone like him then I would be lost for sure. Plus he keeps me honest and beats with a stick when I do go too far, which can be quite often, heh.

REALLY GLAD you are back up and yeah, great job DreamHost!
