GOP Has Had Enough Of Obama, Will Attempt To Pass Cut, Cap, And Balance

I’m not a big fan of a balanced budget amendment, it would be better to just stop spending so damned much, rather than peg spending to no more than 18% of GDP. You know government will always attempt to hit that 18%, rather than be frugal with the money they take at the barrel of a jail cell. Anyhow, it is good to see that the GOP has now put Obama and the big spending Dems on notice (yeah, I’m a little late to the party: I listened to some of the GOP presser this morning, and then half listened to Obama yammer on, but, then had errands to run and some golf to play (shot a 98. I suck. Only 3rd time out this year))

House Republican leaders have thrown their support behind the “Cut, Cap and Balance” plan that conservatives are demanding in return for an increase in the federal debt ceiling.

According to lawmakers who attended an 8 a.m. meeting of the Republican conference, GOP House members rallied Friday behind an effort to cut spending, cap spending in future years and pass a balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution — a package that has been pushed in the House by the Republican Study Committee.

“We asked the president to lead, we asked him to put forward a plan, not a speech — a real plan — and he hasn’t. We will,” Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said after the meeting.

Well, they didn’t actually “ask” him to lead: then kinda triple dog dared him, which is kinda like daring a cat to do the laundry.

And from over at Speaker Boehner’s website

At his press conference today, President Obama implicated his own Administration for failing to put forward a serious plan to address the debt crisis that is threatening our economy.  According to the transcript, he said, “So I have not seen a credible plan – having gone through the numbers – that would allow you to get to $2.4 trillion [in savings] without really hurting ordinary folks.”

If the president hasn’t seen a credible plan, is that an admission his Administration has never offered one?

If so, he’d be right.

I know it will drive the squishy Republicans nuts, but, the GOP needs to keep up the tough talk, and, tougher votes. Take the vote on CCB on Monday or Tuesday: it will pass. Send it over to the Senate. Let Democrats stand by their sure votes to keep ignoring the will of the American people.

    AMEN Buddy. Amen.

This is absolutely preposterous bullshit coming out of Washington D.C.

Lets stop and think about it for one minute.

In 2007 the Budget was 2.44 trillion dollars.

In 2012 the proposed budget is 3.7 trillion dollars.

Thats an increase of 1.3 trillion dollars in 5 years.

    25 percent per year.

So now whoop deee doooo the republicans are wanting to cut 2.5 trillion or 4 trillion from the budget over 10 years.

lets see thats 250-400 billion per year………..

    AFTER

Obama raised the budget by 1.3 trillion.

so in effect our dear republicans are agreeing to a 800-900 billion dollar budget increase.

The biggest problem in D.C. is that even the Republicans are covered in swamp water and once they arrive within the city limits of D.C. their brains stop working, the spin machine cranks up to 10000 rpm and the bullshit begins flying.

While they pocket their offshore kickbacks and buddy up with their democratic sidekicks who are ff’ing us just as badly.

and that is my exasperated word of the day.

    WORDS!!

The Repubs need to get their balls back and pass a budget bill that will save our country from the REAL default – the one where our country looks like Greece and can’t pay for even the basic of services.

This debt limit default is nothing but a night-time scary story read by a robot (obama).

Understand this – The Democrats are crying, begging, demanding that the debt limit be raised by $2.5 Trillion dollars. THis means that they admit that their excessive spending is incompatible with our current economy. They are asking for permission to keep increasing the amount of outlays over the amount of inlays.

This is nothing but business as usual that has occurred for the last several decades and even surpassed by this current president.

It is time the Repubs do what we voted them in for. Vote in a reduced budgetary spending bill – that reduces spending BELOW what the inlays are.

    It’s that simple.
