Laugh Riot: Obama Will Sign Government Waste Bill Thursday

No, seriously, he will, and he seems really geared up for it!

President Obama will sign into law Thursday the Improper Payment Elimination Act — an effort designed to slim down wasteful government programs and curb fraud in federal spending.

“The fact is, Washington is a place where tax dollars are often treated like Monopoly money, bartered and traded, divvied up among lobbyists and special interests,” Obama said in March when he announced the initiative. “And it has been a place where waste — even billions of dollars in waste — is accepted as the price of doing business.”

Got that? It’s not idiot elected officials, including Obama, wasting tax dollars, it’s those pesky lobbyists and special interests. You know, special interests which somehow got Obama to spend $23 million on Kenya’s constitution vote. And all the lobbyists who were awarded tons of breaks and perks in the ObamaCare, Stimulus, and finance bills. But, Barry is pumped

The act will use something known as payments recapture audits, which will pay auditors financial incentives to find improper payments. The White House said it could save $2 billion in taxpayer money over the next three years.

Oooooooooh, $2 billion over 3 years! That’s pocket change in Washington. Heck, I can think of a way we could have saved $862 billion. And we can certainly save some more if Obama would stop having all those parties at the White House. Granted, this is something that needs to be done, yet, you just know it is going to be done in a way that will have little impact.

“Well, I don’t accept business as usual,” the president said in March. “And the American people don’t accept it either, especially when one of the most pressing challenges we face is reining in long-term deficits which threaten to leave our children a mountain of debt.”

I’m speechless on that one.

Thanks for posting this. This is basically proof that you are suffering from severe Obama Derangement Syndrome. It doesn’t matter what Obama does. You’re against it, and/or are sure that it will fail or be ineffective.

Thanks for putting your relentless hatred for our President ahead of any concern for this country. So much for all of this patriotism crap all over this crappy blog. You might as well tear that stuff down. All you have allegiance to is the Republican Party.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Phew, I am still crying from Reasic’s comments. I haven’t had such a hearty laugh from pure irony in ages. ODS? Seriously? After 10 years of some of the most outrageous BDS, I find it rich in irony and almost got giddy reading such tripe coming from an avowed liberal.

As evidenced in every case of faked racism and misplaced outrage about Tea Partiers and faked BS about how great this president is; it is clear that you cannot under any circumstances disagree with Obama; you cannot have an opposing view on anything his administration does or attempts to do, or else you are suddenly a hate monger, racist and you’re putting your country at risk.

Well that is simply not going to cut it friend, after 10 years of being the pot, you’re not getting away with calling the kettle black. (No race pun intended)

  3. Reasic says:

Okay, so enduring BDS (and complaining about it) makes it okay for you to exhibit the exact same behaviors toward a different President? I’m sorry, but that’s called hypocrisy.

I disagree with Obama plenty, but thanks for making assumptions. I don’t care for his handling of our space program, for one.

Disagreeing with the President doesn’t make you a racist. Quit building straw men, based on retarded claims from some fringe nut, and knocking them down, as if I made that argument. I never said you are racist for disagreeing with the President. However, you should have some valid reason for such disagreement. If this bill were signed by Bush, you and Teach would no doubt be saying that it was about time. Instead, all Teach can do is scoff, because of his own preconceived notions about the President’s motives, which are based largely on false information he receives from biased sources.

Since you’re so concerned about fairness, wouldn’t you also like to see Teach man up and apologize to Sherrod for pushing this false accusation of racism about her that was FABRICATED by Andrew Breitbart?

You cannot seriously be saying that her actions were not racist. She did not do her job to the fullest extent based on a man’s race.

The fact that she corrected that doesn’t take away from the fact that her initial act was one of racism and at least for that moment, made her a racist.

If you want to talk about “manning up,” do so yourself in saying that your accusation that her self admitted racism was fabricated.

  5. reasic says:

    Gc,

Don’t try to reframe the debate. You all were claiming that Sherrod IS racist, not that she acted racist in the past, but had changed her ways.

  6. gitarcarver says:

Don’t try to reframe the debate

    Take your own advice.

    1) In a post on a bill Obama signed, you hijacked the discussion by making a false charge.

    2) You are the one claiming that the charge of racism – which she admitted – was false.

  7. Trish says:

Reasic, if this bill were signed by Bush I would still disagree with it. I was not a sheep for Bush and disagreed with plenty of his policies. I agreed with many too.

Until and unless Fanny & Freddie and all who benefited by protecting them from investigation, no bill or “Improper Payment Elimination Act” is good enough. They are the root of a lot of the problems in the hosuing AND banking industry, yet they are being given another pass which I can only believe is because of the people it will drag down with it(on BOTH sides of the aisle I would presume) which proves that they don’t really want to reform anything.

  8. Reasic says:

Just to be sure I understand your position, what exactly are you proposing? What is your solution?

  9. Otter says:

Something requiring common sense, bunny / reasic.

Common sense being rather Missing in DC of late.

  10. Reasic says:

Thanks for your vagueness, Otter, and I was asking Trish.
