Sen. Inhofe Says CapNtax Will Be Dead In The Water

Let’s hope so

Inhofe, however, stood by his prediction that a historic climate change bill narrowly approved by the House last week faces certain defeat in the Senate.

“It’s dead in the water,’’ he said.

Inhofe said the much-anticipated conclusion of a Senate race in Minnesota that will give Democrats the 60 votes needed to overcome Republican filibusters would not be enough to save the climate change bill.

“I’ll tell you what a lot of people are thinking, and that is it looks like things are going to be over and we are going to get the clown from Minnesota,’’ he said.

“They are not going to get more than 35 votes.’’

I do dearly hope he knows what he is talking about. None of the AGW supporters can actually defend the bill, since it actually does virtually nothing to reduce CO2 and/or temperatures, so, what does it accomplish other then putting massive burdens on the American taxpayer, sends jobs and companies overseas, and provides for massive control of people, companies, and the economy.

He also called Al Franken a clown. Sort of

“I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I don’t know the guy, but … for a living he is a clown,’’ the senator said.

“That’s what he does for a living.’’

Think Progress (snicker) is having a hissy fit (gee, are you shocked?) , but, I disagree with Inhofe on this. Franken is not a clown. He is a nasty, violent, racist, bigoted Assclown.

PS: you can find links to both the original Waxman-Markey and the 3am 300 page addition here. Complete version here. And, as a sidebar, some folks need to take a chill regarding the “green inspected” home thing. The language, which is on page 93 section (3) Effect of the 300 pager says that it is simply something that is going to be encouraged, but, that no government entity can require. Also,

  • Page 260 has a modification to Earned Income Credit
  • There is also a section in the middle that pushes for green loans and green banks

  1. Mike says:

I surely hope so. The bill should have never got past the representatives.

  2. It shouldn’t but, they are putting their partisan agenda against science and what is good for the country. Typical with the libs, and some turncoat Republicans.
