Obama To Remove Conscience Abortion Rule?

Removing morality even more when dealing with abortion on demand

Taking another step into the abortion debate, the Obama administration Friday will move to rescind a controversial rule that allows health-care workers to deny abortion counseling or other family-planning services if doing so would violate their moral beliefs, according to administration officials.

The rollback of the “conscience rule” comes just two months after the Bush administration announced it last year in one of its final policy initiatives.

Seven states, including California, Illinois and Connecticut, as well as two family planning groups, have filed suits challenging the Bush rule, arguing it sacrifices the health of patients to religious beliefs of medical providers.

I wonder if the ACLU will step in to protect the Freedom of Religion that those health care workers are supposed to have under that pesky 1st Amendment?

Isn’t it funny how the Left finds it A-OK to sit out war as a conscientious objector, but, can’t sit out discussing abortion on demand as an objector?

that is really pretty lame “I wonder if the ACLU will step in….” Teach it is not “funny” at all. If your job discription violates your religious beliefs then get another job. You can’t really believe that simply by saying “that violates my beliefs” that you do not have to do taht aspect of your job do you ? As in well during the time period noon to 3:00 the time Jesus hung on the cross i can only sit and pray.”

You bring up some good points on this one. Wonder what will become of this one? ACLU might actually do something useful???

  3. Interesting point of view, John. Especially since you folks on the left stood up for soldiers who deserted because they didn’t agree with war after they voluntarily joined the military.

The ACLU will probably ignore the issue and hope it will go away, Greta. They love abortion.

Funny how this works. Instead of a health provider saying they don’t want to provide a service that is against their religious beliefs and the PATIENT finding another doctor who will (and they’ll be able to if the procedure is in demand), it is the doctor who is forced to either comply or face “coercion” in some form by the government.

Liberty and freedom baby. Can you just taste “The Hope and Changeâ„¢”?

Jesus Christ wasn’t aborted Comrade Ryanov, and there is HELL to pay when the slaughterers of 51,000,000 aborted children stand before God.
