Libby Sets It Straight On Plame

I’m surprised that this story hasn’t seen wider airplay in either the Right-O-Sphere or in Liberal land:

An indicted former White House aide does not contend that President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney ordered him to leak the name of a CIA officer whose husband criticized the administration’s  Iraq policies, the aide’s lawyers said.

Despite the spin attempts from the Drive By Media in this and other stories (along with the tortured syntax), what it comes down to is this, in paragraph 8:

In the court filing, Libby’s lawyers said they did not intend to argue that he was ordered to reveal Plame’s identity.

“Consistent with his grand jury testimony, Mr. Libby does not contend that he was instructed to make any disclosures concerning Ms. Wilson by President Bush, Vice President Cheney, or anyone else,” the filing said, using Plame’s married name.

So much for that Defeatocratic meme, which has been trumpetted from the Heavens of Liberal World, from Kos, to Oliver Silliness, to the DU, to the political forum I frequent, all saying “Bush told Cheney to tell Libby to leak Plame’s name. WE TOLD YOU!!!!” Too bad they have no proof, and Libby has stated the opposite. Furthermore, no one has been charged with leaking her name. Hence the Mark Twain quote in the top right (Journalized theme.)

The only blog on my feed program, which has about 50 or so blogs on it, that mentioned this was Blogs For Bush. Unpartisan.com linked to B4B, and has lots of info ont he whole thing.
