Global Warming Today: 1/3 Of Canadians To Riot

Next thing you know, the climahysterics will link the Zamboni and the refrigerants used to freeze the ice at hockey rinks in to the insanity

Scientists have found a new threat to the planet: Canadian beer drinkers.

The government-commissioned study says the old, inefficient “beer fridges” that one in three Canadian households use to store their Molson and Labatt’s contribute significantly to global warming by guzzling gas- and coal-fired electricity.

“People need to understand the impact of their lifestyles,” British environmental consultant Joanna Yarrow tells New Scientist magazine. “Clearly the environmental implications of having a frivolous luxury like a beer fridge are not hitting home. This research helps inform people — let’s hope it has an effect.”

The problem is that the beer fridges are mostly decades-old machines that began their second careers as beverage dispensers when Canadians upgraded to more energy-efficient models to store whatever Canadians eat besides doughnuts and poutine.

I’m wondering if the the person who wrote the story was smashed on Moosehead at the time. I wish I could say the story was a joke, but it is in the scitech section. Man, is Fox News going to get some nasty letters from some Canadians.

Of course, let’s be honest: climahystericy is a joke in itself, as are all the people who believe in it, but refuse to practice what they preach.

However, it is based on a real and serious study at The New Scientist.

Back before global warming was an issue Canadians used to take their beer inside and put it refrigerators in November TO KEEP IT FROM FREEZING

Teach you can continue to stick your head in the sand – meanwhile companies with a net worth of over $4 trillion have agreed that tackling climate change is the pro-growth strategy. Ignoring it will ultimately undermine economic growth.

Replacing older, inefficient models is an excellent idea. But seriously, it is Canada. A large portion of the year, if it’s too cold to store outside, it can be stored in the garage. It is not a food item where you have to be concerned over it attracting wildlife. People here store soda in the garage to keep it cold.

This could also be resolved if governments were allowed to build nuclear plants. The most efficient, safe and environmentally friendly form of energy.

  4. Yeah, sure, John.

Silke, that’s funny, considering it is your climahysteric ilk who are buying in to this whole kerfuffle, yet, even more funnily, fail to live the life you say everyone else should, and give your climahysteric leaders a free pass to put tons and tons of CO2 in the air.

As far as the companies go, they aren’t in business cause they are dumb. They also know how to sucker climahysterics in. Being environmentaly responsible is great, do not get me wrong. But, you cannot tackle what is mostly natural.

I agree, Stacy, getting more efficient models is better. The newer standards are much more environmentally friendly then the old freon ones. And, yes, nuke plants. But, the liberals here fail to follow their buddies the French in that endeavor, having mental meltdowns at the mention of nuclear power.
