Va Tech Shooting: HuffPo Chimes In

By now, most people know about the Virginia Tech shooting. If you want some good info, check out Blue Star Chronicles, Hot Air, and the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler. You can also follow the trackbacks at Hot Air. There is little that I can add beyond saying what a horrendous tragedy this was, and I offer my heartfelt prayers for all those involved, their families, and friends.

Now, over at the Huffington Post, there are certainly good comments, but, of course, the typical liberal insanity, politicizing the tragedy, similar to what the Rottweiler points out

  • Ah, must be a member of our well-regulated militia. By: Veritas78 (sixth comment)
  • Thank God for the 2nd Amendment and its gun-nut enablers. Christ's sake – I'm moving to Baghdad with John McNutbag.
  • We don't need no stinking gun control! Every everyone should have a gun. This county is fucked.] Peace By: King886
  • How the hell are automatic weapons legal? I'm listening now to companies that sell "components"to make automatic waepons-again, ask, how is it legal? OVer 22 dead-so awful. (it's called the Constitution. You should check it out sometime)
  • Boy, We could all do without the smart assed comments now. Its very disrespectful and inhumane. (welcome to the Huffington Post)
  • This is just horrific. Stop posting political nonsense on this thread, how frickin' insensitive can people be? (it's the Huffington Post, where every tragedy is political fodder)
  • Totally tragic. Now can we have the same outrage over the availability of weapons in this country as we did over the Imus controversy of last week? (this comment followed the above one.)
  • A little taste of Baghdad. Geez. By: gotalife
  • This is tragic. I assume there will be a full investigation into how the killer had access to the gun(s) and ammo. Let's just pray that our legislators have the courage to finally stand up to the NRA and enact some meaningful gun control. By: truthyguy (ah, it is the Constitutions fault)
  • Thanks NRA — another terrorist lobby group determined to see its maniacal demands met at the expense of innocent life.
  • Possess a gun? You are far more likely to kill with one or die by one. That's a fact. Possess a gun? You are insecure about your manhood. Possess a gun? You are an asshole punk! (actually, wrong, ask our Founding Fathers, and ask our Founding Fathers)
  • ban guns
  • A sad day for all of us.

Not a day to make political hay for either "side".

Say a prayer for families of victims and leave it alone.

    Peace.

And, I will stop there, though there are more. If you want the real facts on guns and gun control, that will have to be for another day.

I've been to Va Tech many a time to watch ECU play the Hokies. God Bless them all, and offer your prayers, as I am.

The 31 Red States of American Christians will pray and know how to pray: “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.”
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. Amen.”
